Default What are you having for Christmas dinner?

I'm curious what you folks are doing for Christmas dinner. Most of my family will be out of town but I'll still be doing a dinner with the parents thing.

What are some typical Christmas dinner dishes that you like?
Today is victory over yourself of yesterday. Tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

I'll start. My mom, sis and her family have come from Canada to Australia to spend Christmas with us this year. Because it is usually hot on Christmas day nobody wants to use the oven....plus the last 2 years the power was out on xmas day....so we are going with cold food. We will be having an organic free range ham with potato salad, and a few other interesting salads featturing things like pine nuts and pomegranates.

I'min charge of desert and have made a chocolate, banana and date icecream in a coconut base, that will be served with organic frozen raspberries, homemade chocolate and roasted almond slivers.

This is the first time i have seen my mom in 10 years so it is a pretty special Christmas for us all. I have so much to be greatful for.

Have a nice holiday everybody! And of course a great healthy and super interesting new year in which we will get Disclosure, Free Energy and the truth about 911 in the Mainstream. If one of these things get true i will be absolutely thrilled.

Default Re: What are you having for Christmas dinner?

Mara (my dog) and I will be heading out at dawn for a big Christmas Day hike. Details here, but this is our collection of Christmas treats:

A bag of bones for Mara, a little 8 oz moccaccino (an experiment: no idea what it may be like), a tiny Christmas cake, a Cornetto (which may or may not survive in any recognizable form ), a bunch of dates, and some home-made chocolate, which looks a little odd because it's got blueberries in it.

That makes up a ton of high sugar, but it's a long hiking day, so it'll all be put to good use (and so will Mara's bones).

    • —> For anyone else who's finding themselves on their own on Christmas Day:

I'm going to open the moccaccino, the Christmas Cake and the Cornetto (and the bag of bones) at 12:00 noon US Eastern time, wherever I am. That's 9 am Pacific, 5 pm in the UK, 6 pm in Europe, and 7 pm in South Africa. (For Australians, it'll already be the early hours of Boxing Day.... apologies!) For our friends in Hawaii, I'll be enjoying a second helping of the moccaccino and cake at 2 pm (though the Cornetto will surely be gone) ... that's 9 am in Hawaii.

It will be just my husband and me, and I am going with comfort food: pot roast, potatoes, marinated fresh vegetables, creamed spinach, rolls and homemade double chocolate biscotti for dessert. Eating organic and vegetarian is on my bucket list but I'm afraid it may be for another life! May Peace and Joy be in the heart of all in this much loved Community. Diane

Cooking a prime rib at home with 2 veggies and assortment of wine followed by a fire on the deck with a fine cigar. I am very thankful for everything and being able to help others too. Last year we cooked a huge dinner for a little boy with cancer and his 5 brothers and sisters and delivered it all to his house. I had the entire trunk of the car loaded with food right out of the oven. Just to see that little boys face and the parents of gratitude was the bestest. I know they had food for a few days for what we took over.

    Veggie Chicken and veggie Turkey.

All vegetable dinner for the family.

We don't fall asleep immediately after dinner and have a great evening together.

When I was a kid, we ate a big Turkey dinner and then the house went to sleep.

This year it will be a usual daily meal (except for the dessert, that has become characteristic of this time of the year (Xmas) in our house due for the mango season.

    Rice
    Beans
Boiled Potato and meat (carne de panela com batata)

    Mango mousse (dessert).

I made the dessert. My sister and her husband made everything else (, I confess)...

    Sushi

Actually, in Japan they celebrate on Christmas Eve by eating roasted chicken and a Christmas cake which is white cake covered with whipped cream and topped with strawberries.

I felt your sensitivity there, Dear Strat and Bill, and even though it's just me and my husband here and 24 past holidays alike,we both agreed that we have so much love, emotion and longing for human beings and the Universe, so much so that a wave in which we can be the whole Avalon community online is an extraordinary thought!

I am totally transposed in this form of manifestation which could be an even closer connection between all the members!

I am already connected to your idea for next year although the idea can go further .. maybe in the possible future we will be able to be connected with everyone in this present even though this has already happened in the present past!because time is no longer important, only our mission of all, together, over which we can build a bridge that will unite us all,in the great awakening in which, we will immerse, and along the oceans of good resolutions to come even more in the step of a new year!
    For your question,
What are you having for Christmas dinner?
I cooked all day and did not think to photograph anything, tomorrow everything is eaten with joy anyway.

Here I am, sharing the best thoughts and wishes for those who feel alone, because we were born in this world alone and yet we are all united by the nature of the human spirit, the seed that unites us in essence here and beyond...

So I wish from my soul, great and pleasant winter holidays for everyone!
And all this to be just human.

Tonight we have dinner at my brothers house with all typical American food of turkey , ham and all the traditional trimmings. Tomorrow is breakfast at my house and since I do not have help that day everything is self serve and cold. A table with different flavors of yogurt, with granola , strawberries , blueberries , all kinds of croissants..... filled with chocolate , baklava, almonds and plain , some cold ham and spinach quiche. Cannot end without a “ rosca de navidad “ pictured here and some “chocolate salami “. For drinks fresh orange juice and different coffees.
...... then we run to my aunts for a Mexican lunch of Pavo con Mole, which is turkey with a special sauce from Puebla. We have been eating that all my life. Dreading when my aunt is gone and do not know who will continue the tradition.

We latins love to entertain and show our love with food. I wish you all were seating at my table joining my family and I. I wish you a very happy holiday and I sent you love from Ecuador

Beef brisket on outdoor oak fire, wild foraged lions mane mushroom in garlic butter, sweet potato, green beans, home grown pomegranate cobbler.

Copious amounts of local wines, grape juice.

Some magic to stop the rain for the outdoor fire.

    My best to all!

Chicken breast with roasties and green beans in a creamy pepper sauce. (It's a microwave meal.)
