We weren't sure what to make this year but we made deviled eggs, ham, mashed sweet potatoes, corn and garlic bread.

I made some meat rolls, but I share with you some biscuits with salt and cumin that I baked (I can't find the right translation for them but it's something traditional), and a cake ... much too big for just me and my husband at the table.
The cake is not very sweet, but very tasty and I want to share a piece with anyone from everywhere who finds themselves alone this holiday season!

And all this to be just human.

Doing all Italian this year chicken fettachini Alfredo and lasagna and of course the apps and wines. Throw in the Detroit lions football game, friends and family and were all set for the day. At the end of the day any home cooked food with the ones we love is really what it's all about, even if it was mac and cheese out of the box would be fine with me.

We normally have Brazil nut roast en croute with veggies, but Christmas is postponed this year... I came home from work early at 1am yesterday with terrible indigestion, slept for 24 hours and still feel like death warmed up. At least nothing will be wasted so maybe if I'm up to it, we'll have that tomorrow. I'll probably have porridge for dinner today (that's oatmeal to my American friends).

Hello, Everyone — my Christmas feast is very modest. I made some dark chocolate (raw cacao + coconut oil + honey + chopped dates), which is dead easy and super-delicious. I just pour it on to a plate like this to freeze it to set it:

And next, I'm about to make some bread. That's always an unpredictable adventure (for me!), but whatever it ends up looking like, it usually tastes pretty good.

All my good wishes to everyone out there. If you happen to be on your own today, maybe go to a tiny bit of trouble and devise a fun treat for yourself. (Even if it's experimental!) It may be well worth it.

20 minutes ago, there was a loud knock on my front door. I popped my head out cautiously and the neighbor from the house exactly across the road from me asked me if I wanted a Christmas dinner brought over for me !

I instantly gasped and grinned and stuck my thumb up and said Yeaaa Fantastic !

He said "it'll be about an hour" and spun around on his heels and headed off back across the road.

The folks around here are quite tricky to get along with, then one of them turns up at my door on Christmas day with an offer like that, totally out of the blue. Just as well I wasn't doing anything big for food today myself. I'm well ready for it.

The last time I even spoke to him was about a year ago.

I am having a little picnic with my dog, horse and cow. I made finger foods, ham, crackers, cheese and raw veggies. I also got some scones and clotted cream and tea. It is going to be a beautiful day!

This is a lovely post! It all looks and sounds delicious!
It's my husband and I with our two black cats (sisters).
It's going to be a curry - I think I'll do a selection of dishes. We have a wonderful second hand bookshop near us and someone must have at some point, traded a decent sized collection of Indian cookery books - some quite unusual with stunning photography.
I snapped several of them up over the last few months! So I guess I'll be guided by the wonderful pictures and choose something I haven't cooked before.
We're lucky to live downtown and close to a selection of international supermarkets (which seem to escape the current trend of panic buying!) So I'm feeling happy and grateful to be well stocked with spices and exotic looking vegetables - oh, and plenty of local craft beer!
Enjoy your meals and dishes everyone. It all looks tasty!

It has been very hot this last week, it being summer here in Perth Western Australia, my companion and I grazed on:
    1. A heap of freshly boiled 'banana prawns' which are very large prawns, with mayonnaise dipping sauce
    2. Ham off the bone, sliced
    3.Potato Salad with egg/black olive slices/avocado
We did not have any room left for the Christmas pudding/custard, we will have that another time.
I had a few small single malt whiskies (very modest) and soft drinks
I appreciate what we had, we feel very lucky indeed, because we have an air conditioner so we have been very comfortable.
Merry Christmas to you all, hope you also got to eat something delicious.

I am fixing baby back ribs and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes...baking in the oven as I write, so I get to listen to music and go on Avalon while Ron naps. A beautiful stray cat who has been hanging around had a special Christmas cat food treat, for which he was very grateful, judging from how long he took to eat it. It made me happy. Cold here, about 17° this morning, and enough snow to make it pretty. I wish everyone could have hot food and a visit from a beautiful cat. 🎄❤️, Diane

Done and in the oven, yeah!

    Wishing everyone a happy Christmas!

The plan was a salad of mixed greens with tart apple, smoked mackerel, cranberries, and leeks with a dill dressing.

My sister said to me "If you serve salad no one will come to your Christmas party!"

As it turns out this year, food wasn't on the priority list, so it will be a hearty, warming vegetable-bean soup.
