Also, that battery is not the only one. Apparently others have now been found also. At least I recall Nat Geo or one of the other similar channels saying so on a program watched not all that long back.. I also seem to recall an episode of, "Ancient Aliens" that has snip and paste of that in one of their programs about the battery. They believe they used them for gold plating. Many of the so called 'solid' gold objects found in Egypt and others, as it turns out were plated gold not solid at all.

I didn't know that the battery was stolen, interesting info.

The Wikipedia entry doesn't mention other other Baghdad batteries, it mentions the 3 artifacts which consist of the full battery found:

"The Baghdad Battery or Parthian Battery is a set of three artifacts which were found together: a ceramic pot, a tube of copper, and a rod of iron."
