Default A test thread goes rogue: what does this mean? :)

This is Bill writing this, logging in as new member ShotAcrosstheBow (with his full permission). He was having trouble posting, and so we needed to look into it at our end to see where the problem might lie.

As can be seen, this new thread has been started without apparent problems. (We'll delete this in due course, as it's just a mods' test.)

You might not want to delete this Bill. This might very well evolve into the most important thread ever posted on Avalon -- and the entire Web -- containing the seeds for all future threads of any relevance and/or inspiration. This thread could very well contain the keys that allow to us to access and utilize free energy (thereby obviating any need for Wade Frazier to continue assaulting our eyes with his endless blue links), unravel our missing strands -- 9, 10, 11, however many -- of DNA, bring down the benevolent space brothers, neutralize and evaporate any and all vaccines, as well as open all our so-called leaders' eyes to the futility of all potential future wars. Not to mention the return of the missing $21 Trillion to the U.S. Treasury.

So, I'm just sayin' -- this thread could, you know, turn out to be ... I don't know. Just forget it.

You're being far too lenient. It was 23 trillion.

What Does A Trillion Dollars Look Like?

2012 National Debt: 16 trillion visualized (with short lecture to the irresponsible)

The current national debt is more than $23 Trillion. The national debt clock and the U.S. Treasury Department's website "Debt to the Penny" will give you the exact number as of this minute. The public debt is $14.8 trillion, and intragovernmental debt is $5.7 trillion.

    Adding to the Idiom thing.

I thought this uniquely and then went looking and found that it had been proposed. I like it so much it is now in my head canon.

How many of yall recall the Teapot Dome Scandal?

So there is oil in wyoming. The Department of the Interior is the dept that handles this and concessions to drill it.

Albert Fall was the Sec of Interior. He took bribes in regards to this place and eventually went to jail for it, being the only one involved that went to prison. The person who bribed didnt even get prison.

Thus "Fall guy". Warren Harding was thought of well but died before all this broke and eventually this was one of the most corrupt cabinets ever.

Ya, Canada has a new version of this type of fiasco - The Northern British Colombian Natural Gas Initiative. Fracking and pipelines and the worst possible scenario for the global warming crowd, that Trudeau champions. And.........the gas is for export to Indochina, not for domestic use. So we are willing to greatly enlarge our carbon footprint in order to sell gas to China. How's that for hypocrisy? And to add insult to injury, the jobs are not guaranteed to be for Canadians workers, although they believe they will not need many foreign workers to augment our own. Ya, unless of course our workers demand a fair wage - then the foreigners will come pouring in...

Yes, I like this thread. Thanks ShotAcrosstheBow.

Any suggestions what we should rename it, and where it should go?

It would be safe to think that there is life everywhere on Earth. However, I saw this article on CNN last month where is no life on this area in Africa.

And keep on trucking with those trillions folks! Personally I think they look like ones and zeros on some ledger anymore, but what do I know? My 2 cents on the subject hahaha.

So this rogue occurrence on a German Autobahn probably belongs on this rogue thread. (It looks genuine, unless all the news footage is faked)

"The cargo of the truck is now missing".

Willie Nelson's bit in the classic song "Highwayman" came to mind immediately after hearing that.

    Quote I was a highwayman
Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
    But I am still alive
"The bastards hung me in the spring of '25 (1825)" doesn't fit yet, as we likely wouldn't be able to do much about such high tech highway robbery.

    But...

Yes, what exactly was made to disappear by this mysterious beam of light ? Some of that $21 Trillion perhaps???

That last line is great : "Residents who live around the vicinity have been asked to be vigilant and keep an eye out for..." For what? Beams of celestial light that toss tractor trailers around like tinker toys?
