don't! I'm encouraged by this lighthearted article amidst all this forlorn news.

The first British person known to have contracted the coronavirus claims he defeated the deadly virus with a whisky and honey hot toddy.

UK national Connor Reed spent two weeks in hospital after being diagnosed with the virus two months ago.

Connor Reed says he was cured of coronavirus after drinking a hot toddy.
The 25-year-old moved to the city of Wuhan, which has been cited as the source of the outbreak, last summer to teach English.

Connor sought hospital treatment towards the end of last year after experiencing difficulties breathing and struggling with a bad cough.

Hello, this is the first of your 5 free articles for this week

The North Wales native said he feared he was at death's door before turning to a traditional flu remedy, the humble hot toddy.

Speaking to The Sun, Connor said: “'I was stunned when the doctors told me I was suffering from the virus. I thought I was going to die but I managed to beat it.

“I used the inhaler which helped control the cough and drank a hot whisky with honey until that ran out.

“It’s an old fashioned remedy but it seemed to do the trick.

"I did refuse to take the antibiotics the doctors prescribed me because I didn’t want to take any medicines.”

The Welshman revealed Wuhan has become deserted in recent weeks, with shops running low on produce and pharmacies toiling to keep up with the demand for face masks and medicines to battle the virus.

He added: “It was only when I called back a couple of weeks ago that they told me I’d had the coronavirus.

"I’ve been off work and the boss thinks we will be reopening in a couple of weeks but I’m not so sure.

“Wuhan is becoming a real ghost town — there is hardly anybody in the streets and the shops are running low of fresh fruit and vegetables.

“And there is no medicine or masks left in the pharmacies.

“If you go out without a mask the police will arrest you.

"The authorities are really worried about how to contain this and stop it spreading.”

I wanted to share this video. I watched it and I keep thinking about it. It deals with the personality and history of President Xi. I think it answers many questions about the disconnect with reality that seems to be going on as far as statistics go in China.

I have been assisting in the ordering of a machine from a Chinese factory in Luohe, a city about two hundred miles north of Wuhan. The factory sales rep was emailed five days ago when they were supposed to return to work after the Chinese New Year. This factory rep has always answered emails within two days in the past and has been very helpful.

So far there has been no communication from this sales rep or other factory person. We have no idea now whether we will be able to get the machine which was paid for and was supposed to be ready to ship by now. I am sure that there are a lot of other people and companies having the same problem.

So I think whatever is happening in China (coupled with articles on ZeroHedge and other sources), it appears to be quite serious.

I will update this post as the situation develops.
UPDATE: We finally got an email from the sales rep we have been dealing with at the Chinese machinery factory:
    "Sorry to reply you late.

Because the China special time, we extend our holiday, plant to back office on 10th this month. When we start work, we will arrange the goods as soon as possible.

Sorry the special time cause inconvenience for you.
    "
I wonder if they are required by the government to use the euphemism "special time" to refer to whatever is going on in China.
UPDATE: We received another email from the sales rep from the Chinese factory:
"Thank you, we believe that the special time will be over soon.

Our factory will start to work on 18th this month, then we will arrange the machine and parts as soon as quickly."
We were told right before the Chinese New Year holiday in mid-January that the factory would get started with our order on February 1st. This email today reveals that the euphemism "special time" was not in reference to the Chinese New Year but to the current viral outbreak in China.

I can’t believe what is happening here.

There‘s not one single media source in the world that can be trusted fully. Everything can be (and to a large extent actually is) faked. The only chance is to read news/contributions from not only different, but very opposite angles. And that includes to maybe consider that a very serious situation does exist, but it is exaggerated and excessively exploited (via MSM + ‚alternative‘ media outlets) as a means in the deadly power-struggle between the two giants US and China, trying to trigger China‘s economic collapse, or at least weakening.

To the extreme, even the take of Gosia (where ever these ideas come from - I personally do not take the source seriously, but the idea may originate from elsewhere - does deserve a bit of consideration, and be it just for balance. The probability of this idea to be correct may be tiny though greater than zero.

Bill, why, for example, do you trust NTD? What makes you so sure that what is shown on NTD is the real situation? (just an example, rhetorical question) The fact that NY based NTD takes an anti-Communist Party stance doesn‘t make them already credible. Everyone can shout ‚Falun Gong‘, the real victims of Falun Gong repression may never have had a voice at all.

What is happening here, has nothing to do with looking left and right before crossing a busy street. I can NOT imagine you don‘t see that.

I do not know what is going on in China but I‘m not willing to let myself be manipulated into believing THE ONE single, highly emotionalized narrative.

    Another thought:

MSM is downplaying the urgency. Why? People (the majority of people don‘t believe in the mainstream news anymore anyway, although they devour and parrot it daily for the sake of entertainment - and are controlled subconsciously. So for them, when their newspapers report cautiously, the situation must be terribly bad.

Don't think this has been posted, but if it's true, WTF?! I wonder if we're not getting the full story (as usual!) and I question if supply issues are really what's behind this, pretty sure I read somewhere a few days ago that medicine supplies were already running low.

From Alex Jones' Sunday Infowars broadcast (yesterday).

One can ignore Alex if one prefers (he does sometimes exaggerate a lot ), but just the first 25 seconds of the video are very hard to watch. (Though I don't quite understand how it was all filmed.)

Unanswered questions notwithstanding, there do seem to be some terrible things happening to some very helpless people.

I confess: I find myself with uncomfortable thoughts that those who are behaving so brutally and inhumanly, even if (like the Nazis) they're just obeying orders, might find a karmic backlash on them within a few short weeks.

Why are people being treated so inhumanely?
Won't that galvanize the population to revolt?

"Is this the wolf?" is the most important question IMO.
This is from a BMJ article.... very serious spread of incubation

The median incubation period was 3.0 days (range, 0 to 24.0 days).

From everything I have been reading and we all have been reading , lets put all of us over there, 100 million people quarantined, nobody going to work, the Chinese government not telling anyone whats really happening, truths are being spread via word of mouth and untruths. Remember the times we sat around a campfire and told a sentence to someone and each person whispered it to the next , by the time it got around the campfire where it started it was completely different? People being dragged out of their houses? Bodies being incinerated? You see your loved one taken away and comes and never comes back again? People do not want to go to a hospital as they may not return. They can't fight back, they have no guns . With all the insanity, and rumblings thru the streets its no wonder people do not want to leave. Hell I wouldn't leave either. And if some innocent get swallowed in the shuffle its still for the greater good right?

As Mark Passio puts it (at 20.12 in the presentation):

They may be under the illusion that those commanding them are taking resposibility for the orders that they will carry out, but if Mark is correct, natural law does not work that way at all. As you point out, Bill, karma (if it exists and if it abides by natural law) will respond to them as much, if not more than to the order-givers.

What's the incubation period for this virus? "A few short weeks" perhaps? Lets face it, those suits and masks aren't going to protect them from anything except dust.

    Here is the reason:

Considering asymptomatic spread is occurring, what does this policy promote.

I have unanswered questions and cannot trust some rumors:

    1. Is it true that Asians and men ARE more susceptible?
    2. Why if many Americans are not concerned, are there NO MASKS anywhere in small or large commercial areas?
    3. Can we trust the US governmnet to be forth coming?
    4. Could Trump call off the 2020 election?

Considering asymptomatic spread is occurring, what does this policy promote.

I have unanswered questions and cannot trust some rumors:

    1. Is it true that Asians and men ARE more susceptible?
    2. Why if many Americans are not concerned, are there NO MASKS anywhere in small or large commercial areas?
    3. Can we trust the US governmnet to be forth coming?
    4. Could Trump call off the 2020 election?
You always have good points and questions, or at least, the same ones I'm thinking!

I'm particularly interested in #1. But all I have found goes back to that one study with an incredibly small group (only 1 Asian male!). I'm not having much luck finding the race demographics of the confirmed cases outside of nationality, but it APPEARS to me so far that all confirmed deaths are of Asians. Of course, maybe that's just the way it is for now.

#2 People are concerned, but they're expressing it in small groups and in places they're not likely to be attacked, and phrasing it carefully. On my homeschool board, I've been seeing phrases something like: "I'm don't believe in conspiracies, BUT..." People are frustrated with the lack of proper information.

#3 Of course not! I know that many, many Americans don't fall neatly into D or R camps, but if they did, from my experience, the Rs have a very profound distrust of MSM and many government institutions. The Ds are coming off of Iowa and impeachment and are experiencing a very high level of distrust from their base. And those in the middle are pretty much disgusted with both sides.

#4 If it gets bad enough, IMO, yes, I think could be postponed. But if that were to happen, I think it would be accompanied with draconian quarantine levels the likes of what were seeing in China, too.

Could it be possible that these 'emergency' measures could also be cover for the culling of dissidents? The reported social credit score system, facial recognition, 're-education' camps?

What comes to my mind first is: they should check the air conditioning on the ship! Just my 2 cents ...

Quote Coronavirus infection tally on Diamond Princess hits 136 as tests for all passengers eyed

Halfway through a two-week quarantine, 66 more people aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Yokohama have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the tally to 136 with only a fraction of the passengers tested, Princess Cruise Lines said Monday.

    [...]

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Monday that it might be difficult to test everyone aboard the ship.
Only 336 passengers had been tested as of Monday, according to the health ministry.

The brutality displayed when people have no masks and there are no available masks. This is looking more and more like systematic sadistic torture.

So much hurt and kind people and I wish we could support the people and the animals but destroy the government. Unfortuantely the thing we cannot get around is that the government is able to be what it is be cause enough people agree to enforce the rule.

The unsung hero saving thousands of Wuhan's pets

Beijing: Lao Mao - known to his friends as Old Cat - has emerged as an unlikely hero of the public health emergency in Wuhan, the Chinese city that is the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.

The 43-year-old has braved rusty pipes and broken windows to gain access to people's homes, all in a good cause. Lao Mao and his six-strong animal rescue squad have saved at least 2000 household pets from starvation after their quarantined owners were unable to return to them.

Lao Mao, a vet who runs the online pet community Wuhan Pet Life and whose real name is Shuai Lihua, believes some 20,000 animals were left at home without care when a tight quarantine was suddenly imposed on the city of 11 million on January 23.

Many owners, who had already travelled outside Wuhan for the Lunar New Year, were caught on the back foot with no way to return to care for their animals because of extensive travel curbs.

Lao Mao, who owns a pet hospital and has been organising animal rescue for 13 years, stepped in to help after frantic calls and messages on social media. more here
