    Regarding TCM, I have read a couple articles that talk about success with TCM, but I've seen more articles condemning and outright vilifying it. There was at least one article from China supporting it's use and one from India supporting the use of herbs. I think both were talking about using herbs in conjunction with pharmaceuticals. The articles condemning were all Western publications.
    Imagine what would happen if they discover that TCM (or oregano oil or colloidal silver or some other alternative medicine) can cure the Wuhan coronavirus ... It would mean a severe blow to the Western medicine!

    Very well said, in fact that’s exactly how I’m going to do it. I have a silver generator I have lots of oregano oil that’s ready to go. Plants for the longest time have been used effectively against all kinds of infections, what is so sad is that because MDs don’t know anything about it and they don’t suggest it to people ( not part of standard of care ) that people think they don’t work. This whole World is upside down!

    Couple of weeks ago, I found this post by Antagenet which provided lots of excellent food and natural supplements to mitigate inflammation which can lead to flu. So I decided to concentrate on inhibiting the IL-6 (Interleukin 6) encoded by the IL6 gene. I ordered a concentrated (10:1) oregano oil extract. A week ago, I felt my throat scratchy so for three days I took a capsule of the oregano oil extract twice a day. At the end of 3 days, all my symptoms were gone. I also sprinkle Cinnamon which fights the four inflammatory agents on my organic oatmeal that I always have for breakfast.

    Quote Because I have too much inflammation, and inflammation can cause cytokine storms that can kill a person,
    my first line of defense is to try and lower my inflammation. There are 4 things in the body which contribute
    to raising inflammation levels.
    inflammatory cytokine, TNF (tumor necrosis factor)
    inflammatory cytokine, IL-1b
    inflammatory cytokine, IL-6
    protein complex transcription factor NF-kB

    These numbers are very interesting, from https://worldometers.info/coronavirus.

    [...]

    The significance here is that of cases which have reached an outcome (i.e. either recovered or died), 20% have died.
    You will get a different picture if you group the cases in this way:

    Hubei (which includes Wuhan): ___ 33366 confirmed / 1068 deaths / 2686 recovered
    Mainland China except Hubei: ___ 11364 confirmed / 48 deaths / 2379 recovered
    outside Mainland China: _______ 441 confirmed / 2 deaths / 62 recovered

    These numbers are from Feb 12. I had to combine two different sources, therefore there are slight discrepancies in these numbers:

    Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation reports (WHO)

    Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases by Johns Hopkins CSSE

    A remarkable result is the relation deaths / (deaths + recovered):

    Hubei (which includes Wuhan): ___ 1068 / 3754 or approximately 28%
    Mainland China except Hubei: ___ 48 / 2427 or approximately 2%
    outside Mainland China: _______ 2 / 64 or approximately 3%

    IMO the most reasonable explanation is a massive underreporting of confirmed cases and mild cases in Hubei (which includes Wuhan) by a factor between 5x and 15x.

    For example:
    Hubei (which includes Wuhan): ___ 350,000 confirmed / 1068 deaths / 30,000 recovered
    which would result in a CFR (case fatality rate) of 3.4 %.

    Quote Professor Neil Ferguson, director of J-IDEA, on the current 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak (05-02-2020). He addresses the work of his team on estimates, the scale of the epidemic, forward projections, the role of modelling and analytics in outbreak response, informing governments, interventions, control measures and more.

    The Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (J-IDEA) brings together global health researchers in the School of Public Health at Imperial College London. Drawing on Imperial’s expertise in data analytics, epidemiology and economics, J-IDEA improves our understanding of diseases and health emergencies in the most vulnerable populations across the globe. The Institute links governments, research institutions and communities to develop practical and effective long-term solutions, shape health policy and deliver better quality of life for all.

    We are estimating that about 50,000 new infections per day are occurring in China. [...] It will probably peak in its epicenter, Wuhan, in about one month time; maybe a month or two later in the whole of China. The rest of the world will see epidemics at various times after that.

    No ! TCM can not cure coronavirus, TCM business in China is very similar to western big pharmacy, they claimed it's a alternative way to cured everything, but it never work out, it's just poor people's placebo.

    Why Chinese gov promoted TCM, it's just because the state owned medical insurance can not afford the cost of medicine. Plus most of the TCM companies owned by the government relatives.

    I really want to keep an open mind on this subject, but no, not TCM !

    I am not saying that TCM is all junks, but hey it mixed with many crazy theories such as.........eat bat meat to cure coughing, i am not making this up.

    I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    The number of officially counted and reported cases has leapt astonishingly by 15,000. The previous highest day's increase was something over 3,000.

    That's a monumental jump: the graphs just went vertical. I had to visit three sites to check it wasn't a typo.

    What's happened is this. (What's copied below in this post is a CNN summary)

    ~~~
    Hubei announced an additional 242 deaths and 14,840 cases of the virus as of Thursday morning, the largest single-day rise since the epidemic began and almost 10 times the number of cases confirmed the previous day.
    The government explained the spike is due to a change in how cases are tabulated.
    What now counts as a confirmed case? The total will now include "clinically diagnosed cases" after rising numbers of residents complained about the difficulty in getting tested and treated for the virus.
    Who falls into that category? "Clinically diagnosed cases" are those patients who demonstrate all the symptoms of the novel coronavirus but have been unable to be scientifically tested, or died before they were tested.
    What effect will this have? The hope is that more people will be able to receive treatment by allowing doctors to diagnose them with the virus.
    Case number confusion: The massive increase in the number of cases exposes confusion over just how to diagnose the virus globally.
    Delayed diagnosis: Delays in diagnosing the virus could be significant. There are reports of patients waiting up to a week for their results, as the testing kits were sent from Hubei to a lab in Beijing. While there have been efforts to speed up the process, scientific testing of samples is difficult and time consuming, and allowing doctors to diagnose patients will enable far more people to receive treatment, including in several purpose-built hospitals dedicated to treating the virus in Wuhan.
    Not just China: In the US, the CDC currently requires that all potential samples are shipped to its central laboratories for full testing.
    Bill, it's also now being realized that CT scans cans nearly confirm Covid-19 viral infection more accurately than the (faulty) test kits themselves by identifying lesions on the lungs. They're having more success with the CT scans than the actual lab tests. Mind you, CT scans can all be done in house as well.
    This is one of the first bits of positive news in all of this chaos. Thankfully! Hopefully a wave of positive news is coming our way soon, it's been hit after hit after hit of negative news for weeks now regarding Covid-19.
    Startling Jump in Coronavirus Deaths over the Weekend Prompts World Health Organization Visit (Feb 10)
    A team from the World Health Organization (WHO) is finally being permitted to visit China the day after the country saw a record-breaking amount of people die from coronavirus.
    On Sunday, 97 people were reported dead from the coronavirus, bringing the total to 908 deaths since the virus broke out in December, according to China’s National Health Commission. It is the highest number of people to die in one day since the epidemic began.
    [...]
    The WHO team is scheduled to land in China on Monday evening to begin its investigation and assist in the epidemic containment. The organization is concerned about the disease’s potential to spread between people who haven’t even visited China and its potential global impact.
    At the 29:20 mark in the WHO conference video below Dr. Michael Ryan says the spread of the virus outside Wuhan/Hubei and China "doesn't appear to be as aggressive", what exactly is he saying here?
    Why would the same virus behave differently by being less aggressive outside of China?
    Is this a veiled admission from the WHO that we are dealing with a genetically targeted virus/bioweapon?
    The content in this particular YouTube user's videos are unique and fascinating regarding Covid-19. Goes very in depth with trying to explain how this could all have started with the mandatory vaccines in China on December 1, 2019.
    According to naturopath Jean-Marc Dupuis in his French newsletter "Sante Nature Innovation" the sudden spike to 15.000 is due to a new method of calculation. All persons with symptoms of infection during a pulmonary radiography are now counted, even without having detected the virus! He refers to studies that denounce the forced quarantine in hospitals which will provoke more infections from "nosocomial origin". That is infections caused from being contained in hospitals. And he goes on deploring that the great ancestral Chinese medicine is not being used and invokes Lao-Tseu to return and bring this once great culture to its senses. BUT BUT he does not take into the equation the strong possibility that this is an attack from a bio weapon and that the true extent of this catastrophe is certainly under reported !
    What I find interesting is that after the WHO folks announce that they will be visiting China the numbers reported today go up dramatically. Could it be that the Chinese government is now trying to rectify the under reporting that will be very obvious to the WHO staff that pay China a visit?
    Not that any of this will be reported outright to the masses as the economy is obviously the most important thing to governments, accuracy and facts be damned. Economy=control.
    ]Sudden Militarization Of Wuhan's P4 Lab Raises New Questions About The Origin Of The Deadly Covid-19 Virus
    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitic...eadly-covid-19
    A very interesting zero hedge article pointing out indications that COVID-19 may very well be a bioweapon. I highly recommend taking the time to read this.
    Quote A genetic analysis of the spike-protein genes – the exact region that was bio-engineered by the UNC lab in 2015, where Zhengli Shi and Xing-Yi Ge previously isolated a batty coronavirus that targets the ACE2 receptor just like this 2019-nCoV strain of the coronavirus does – indicates an artificial and unnatural origins of the Wuhan Strain’s spike-protein genes when they are compared to the genomes of wild relatives.
    Instead of appearing similar and homologous to its wild relatives, an important section of the Wuhan Strain’s spike-protein region shares the most genetic similarity with a bio-engineered commercially available gene sequence that’s designed to help with immunotherapy research. It is mathematically possible for this to happen in nature – but only in a ten-thousand bats chained to ten-thousand Petri dishes and given until infinity sense.
    And so, as the report goes on, a scientist who’s been prolifically involved with studying the molecular interaction of coronaviruses and humanity, spending decades and millions of dollars, and having even helped build a hyper-virulent coronavirus from scratch at UNC – just so happens to be working at the only BSL-4 virology lab in China that also just so happens to be at the epicenter of an outbreak involved a coronavirus that’s escaping zoological classification and whose novel spike-protein region shares more in common with a commercial genetic vector than any of its wild relatives
    However, most recently, as an increasing number of global experts questioned China's initial official story that this came from the food market in Wuhan, Zhengli Shi hurriedly wrote a new report, claiming instead of the initial findings that the novel virus came from a bat in Yunnan, the Chinese chrysanthemum. She said that this was a new discovery that she had worked hard for several years, and coincidentally wrote a paper after the outbreak and published it in the famous international academic journal Nature.
    The content in this particular YouTube user's videos are unique and fascinating regarding Covid-19. Goes very in depth with trying to explain how this could all have started with the mandatory vaccines in China on December 1, 2019.
    EPO mentioned in above video led me to look at this article. Thanks
    That's VERY interesting. The stunner at the top of the article is [zerohedge emphasis]
    "Chinese State Media has just reported that Chen Wei, China's chief biochemical weapon defense expert, is now to be stationed in Wuhan to lead the efforts to overcome the deadly, pneumonia-like pathogen."
    Although this statement is clear enough, what this implies is that they're deploying a bioweapons expert to deal with the outbreak of something that may be (or is acting exactly like!) a bioweapon.
    Regarding the sudden huge jump in reported cases, as best as I can see it's NOT clear whether the increased fatality toll was similarly re-calculated. (Like, "This poor person who died seems to have had the coronavirus, but was never tested.")
    Here's an article about this from the South China Morning Post, published about 12 hours ago, AFTER the new numbers were released.
    https://scmp.com/news/china/society/...ths-will-never
    The pneumonia ‘everybody knows’ but won’t show up in official death tolls
    Wei Peng, a community hospital doctor in the city, said that medical staff were not allowed to list coronavirus as a cause of death when cases had not been confirmed and said that later instructions had even banned them from listing pneumonia. Instead they can only write the immediate cause of a patient’s death, such as diabetes or organ failure.
    He also said the problem was compounded by the difficulty in getting some patients to hospital in time.
    He gave the example of a woman whose father died at home because she did not have the strength to get him to her car and the ambulance was too busy to collect him.
    “Such patients die at home, nothing can be done, and they cannot be counted in the official numbers,” he said.
    Some patients, like Wei, have died without it ever being confirmed what had taken their lives.
    China’s health authorities have admitted that the real number of Covid-19 cases is likely to be higher than official statistics show.
    “The mortality rate that we calculate at the moment is for confirmed cases; there are cases with lighter symptoms or other scenarios not included in our statistics,” Jiao Yahui, an official with the National Health Commission, said at a news conference last week.
    Wei had never been to the Huanan Seafood Market, where the virus is widely believed to have originated, but she lived just 3km (2 miles) away and Shang, her nephew, suspects she became infected in the neighbourhood.
    He also questioned the accuracy of the official figures for Covid-19 deaths and infections.
    “As they updated the list of deaths, I kept checking for her name, but she was never among them,”
    he said. “After a while, they stopped publishing individual names.”
    Since official channels are overloaded, grass-roots volunteers across the country have come together to help verify and update medical information online, as well as assist people in need to contact those who can help them.
    One such volunteer, Beijing-based Li Nian, said cases such as Wei’s were common and often whole families could become infected.
    But while the volunteers are able to provide communities with useful information – for example, telling people which hospitals have available beds or testing kits – getting full information about the situation on the ground is almost impossible.
    One woman Li has been trying to help lost her husband at the start of the month – by which time the rest of the family had also fallen ill.
    Although the woman and her son are now recovering, she is still frantically searching for a hospital with spare beds for her mother-in-law, whose illness is yet to be diagnosed.
    Others have adopted more desperate measures in an effort to gain admission to hospital. Over the weekend one video widely circulated on social media showed a woman standing on her balcony banging a gong while shouting: “Help! I’m dying! Help, please someone help! I am at the end of my wits!”
    Hubei Daily later reported that the woman had been trying to get help for her mother, who has since been confirmed as suffering from Corvid-19 and is being treated in Hanyang hospital.
    The grief of those whose relatives have died at home is compounded by their confusion about what to do next, and often they do not have time for proper goodbyes.
    Li said the woman she was helping barely had time to deal with her husband’s death. The funeral home sent a car to pick up the body, but she did not know what to do with his bedsheets and clothes and was also trying to concentrate on finding a hospital bed for her mother-in-law.
    Another Wuhan resident, Xia Chengfang, was unable to say a proper farewell to her grandfather, who died on January 28.
    “The hospital directly called the funeral home to cremate his body, we weren’t able to see him in the end. My mother and uncle picked up his clothing, drove far away from the crowds and burned it,” she said.
    Funeral homes in the city have been working nonstop during the outbreak. An employee from Wuchang Funeral Home named Huang told Tencent News recently that staff were working round-the-clock shifts and often only have a few minutes rest between jobs.
    Families of the dead are also banned from holding funeral ceremonies to prevent the further spread of the disease. Instead the hospitals, or families of those who die at home, have to contact the funeral homes who then take care of matters.
    When the deceased is a suspected Covid-19 case, the family is asked to sanitise the home before the body is collected.
    “We wear a full protection suit, with gloves, masks and goggles,” Huang said. “When we come back to the funeral home, we spray disinfectant all over our bodies and hang the suit out to dry.”
    After his aunt died, Jerry Shang said the family was not allowed to see her body or arrange the funeral.
    Instead, the hospital collected patients’ bodies and arranged for a local funeral home to cremate them together.
    Shang is the only member of Wei’s family remaining in Wuhan after he told the dead woman’s son to join her husband and other children in the southern city of Shenzhen before Wuhan went into lockdown.
    He said that Wei’s ashes were now being held at a local funeral home, adding: “The hospital said my cousin could come back and collect them once the outbreak is over.”
    Coronavirus: Why many deaths will never appear in official figures
    • Wuhan’s overburdened health workers are unable to confirm many of those who died were suffering from Covid-19, so they will not show up in official figures.
    • The families of those who die at home are also denied the comfort of being able to make proper funeral arrangements.
    Many families have struggled to arrange hospital treatment for their relatives, including this woman whose daughter was filmed banging a gong on her balcony shouting for help. Photo: Weibo
    Retired Wuhan factory worker Wei Junlan had always been in good health, but around two weeks after developing the first signs of a cough and fever, the 63-year-old was dead from what doctors suspect was the new coronavirus.
    But her death on January 21 will not show up in official statistics about the outbreak – her death certificate listed the cause only as “heavy pneumonia”.
    Her nephew Jerry Shang said that Wei had not been tested for the disease, but that the doctor said her symptoms – including a lung infection, fever and increasing weakness – closely matched those of Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus.
    By the end she was unable to walk, and the last the family saw of her was when she was being wheeled into the emergency room. The doctor told the family: “It’s the pneumonia that everybody around the country knows about.”
    Local doctors have heard of many such cases and many Wuhan residents have complained that family members cannot get a proper diagnosis because frontline hospitals are overwhelmed in the face of high patient numbers and a shortage of supplies and testing kits.
    Default Re: The Wuhan Coronavirus [Covid-19, the Honey Badger virus]
    Another statistic to watch. Looking at the slow but unchecked growth of all the numbers in many countries, the total infections outside China are approximately 3 weeks behind China's statistics. (Until the big jump reported just over 12 hours ago, which makes statistical analysis very complicated.)
    And I'd suspect that there are many unreported (or uncounted) cases outside of China, too. For instance, the very seriously ill Ecuador patient, who was cleared by the CDC, sure seemed like he had the novel virus. He had absolutely every symptom.
    My guess is that the Quito doctors were thrown into a bit of a loop by that. If they're doing their job well, they'd still be checking up on all the man's contacts since he flew in from China. So that case study might not be over yet.
    Of course, if the rest of the world does a good job of containment and treatment, then maybe the numbers won't catch up with China's in another 3 or 4 weeks. But it does seem it might not be impossible.
