    Lockdown, lockdown, lockdown.

Run a few imaginary lockdown scenarios through your mind.

List them on a piece of paper.

Scrub out the one about a virus.

Read back through the remaining list.

Which one of those jumps out you the most.

    That's probably what's really happening.

Is there anybody here linked to small businesses in Italy or Spain? Can you detail the effects of the lock down - are they closing permanently or trying to weather the storm?

    Denmark new laws passed:

"As well as enforcing quarantine measures, the law also allows the authorities to force people to be vaccinated, even though there is currently no vaccination for the virus."

    https://www.thelocal.dk/20200313/den...oronavirus-law

Only 95 out of 179 Danish MPs were present to vote on the emergency law.

True colors coming out from many quarters. Denmark, you're breaking my heart....

Update from Alberta Canada ... All schools, day-homes and day-cares are to shut down effective immediately. The schools will probably be closed for he rest of the year, those in Grade 12 will graduate anyway. This is going to have a big impact on the economy, as many people won't be able to work, due to this.

I'm putting together a pandemic plan for work - setting VPNs and such up so people can work from home ... I'm sure that announcement is also coming soon ...

We might be over panicking a little but the infected rate jumped from 4 to 56 in about a week, and I think that tipped it.

@Baby Steps my parents are in the Malaga/Andalucía region. The lockdown came unexpectedly at the end of last week. The next morning the panic buying began and their local supermarket required police to attend to deal with traffic control and chaotic scenes.
They have been advised everything will be closed for at least two weeks at which point it will be reviewed. The general consensus is that local business owners have no idea if this is going to be lifted in the next two weeks or will it continue longer. There isn’t an epicentre of cases where they are so they are unsure what the terms of the review will entail? The ones my parents speak to are hoping to ride it out and reopen ASAP. Whenever that is.

The police are doing stop checks on cars, requesting only one person goes out for supplies. No gatherings of more than 5 people allowed residentially and they have now deployed drones for surveillance of beach and public areas and bars restaurants for compliance of the sanctions.

A quick question while I'm still lingering on Page 89 of this thread (but not as far behind the curve as Infowars at least as far as updates go):

Have there been to anyone's knowledge any reported cases in Iceland? Unless I'd missed an update - I don't think I have - they've been largely absent from statistics, so far.

    From Bill:
Yes, Iceland has 175 reported cases (including 14 more today) — the highest in the world in terms of number of cases per million population. (According to official figures, that is.)

What is happening in Russia. There seems to be very few cases
Putin may have been the only leader to take immediate decisive action.

    Quote Abstract

A significant number of infectious diseases display seasonal patterns in their incidence, including human coronaviruses. We hypothesize that SARS-CoV-2 does as well. To date, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, has established significant community spread in cities and regions only along a narrow east west distribution roughly along the 30-50 N” corridor at consistently similar weather patterns (5-11 O C and 47-79% humidity). There has been a lack of significant community establishment in expected locations that are based only on population proximity and extensive population interaction through travel. We have proposed a simplified model that shows a zone at increased risk for COVID-19 spread. Using weather modeling, it may be possible to predict the regions most likely to be at higher risk of significant community spread of COVID-19 in the upcoming weeks, allowing for concentration of public health efforts on surveillance and containment.

This is kind of interesting. An article about the virus putting an end to globalism. That goes against the whole deep state agenda, I would think.

Globalists May Soon Become an Extinct Species

The coronavirus’s depressing effects on the global economy and disruptions of supply chains is no doubt driving the last nail into the coffin of the globalists.

They believe in the theory first articulated by Englishman David Ricardo (1773-1823) that free trade among nations benefits all of them. He argued for the comparative advantage of free trade and industrial specialization. Even if one country is more competitive in every area than its trading partners, that nation should only concentrate on the areas in which it has the greatest competitive advantage. He used the example of English-produced wool being traded for French wine—and not the reverse.

But Ricardo’s simple trade model requires economies in static equilibrium with full employment and neither trade surpluses nor deficits, and similar living standards. These aren’t true in the real world. Also, Ricardo didn’t consider countries at different stages of economic development and different degrees of economic and political freedom, or exchange rate manipulations and competitive devaluations since gold was universal money in his day.

Ricardo also didn’t factor in trading partners with huge wage differences such as the U.S. and China. As a result, China can produce almost any manufactured good cheaper than America. The result has been the huge and chronic U.S. trade deficit with China.

Trade wars are normal as countries with insufficient domestic demand to create full employment strive to unload their problems on trading partners. They promote weak currencies to make imports more expensive for residents in order to encourage local production and to make exports cheaper for foreign buyers. Subsidies for exporting companies, now widespread in China, are another tried and true technique.

Free trade is rare. Historically, it has been largely confined to periods when a major global power promoted the free exchange of products in its own enlightened self-interest. That was true of Great Britain in the 19th century after it spearheaded the Industrial Revolution and wanted to insure the easy flow of raw materials for its factories from abroad and foreign markets for their output. After World War II, Americans used trade to rebuild Western Europe and Japan to counter the Soviets, and accepted the lack of reciprocity by some of those lands, notably Japan. This was cheaper and more acceptable in the Cold War era than garrisoning more American troops around the world and risking more military confrontations.

Consequently, there were eight global tariff-cutting rounds in the post-World War II era, from the 1947 Geneva Round to the Uruguay Round in 1986-1994. That was it. The 2001 Doha Round has gone nowhere because, by then, Washington no longer needed to support the free world. Also, U.S. trade deficits were chronic and growing, especially as globalization transferred manufacturing jobs to China and other low-cost Asian countries. U.S. factory positions collapsed from 21.7 million in 1979 to 11.5 million in 2010, with only a modest recovery after the Great Recession to 12.9 million in February of this year.

Largely as a result of these developments, real wages for most Americans have been flat for several decades, making voters mad as hell. President Donald Trump played to their plights and was elected by blaming weak incomes on imports and immigrants. Lack of real income growth also convinced voters in Europe that mainstream politicians weren’t effective. The result was Brexit and an attraction to far right and extreme left parties.

Globalization not only left the U.S. highly dependent on China for manufactured goods but also spawned efficient but vulnerable supply chains. Textiles produced in capital-intensive Chinese factories are sewn into garments in Vietnam where incomes are only 28% as high, according to the OECD. Semiconductors from South Korea go into subcomponents in Taiwan and are assembled into smart phones in China for export to the U.S.

The coronavirus’s disruption of supply chains not only unhinges U.S. imports but also raises national security concerns. China is the world’s biggest supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the Indian generic drug industry, which the Food and Drug Administration says supplies 40% of U.S. generic drugs, relies on China for most of its active ingredients.

Even after the virus scare subsides, look for more pressure from Washington for more reliable sources of goods, among other protectionist measures. Domestic producers will benefit but so too will those in Mexico. The results will be lower global efficiency and slower economic growth.

And don’t believe the protectionists’ siren songs that American jobs and incomes will benefit. As in the 1930s, the economy-depressing effects of trade barriers will dominate.

    A. Gary Shilling

This is interesting on a couple of levels. The government taking over food distribution?? I am quite sure there are folks that have done absolutely no preparation for this. I have no idea how desperate this will get. I am just hoping that this is fear porn.

De Blasio: We’re ‘Close to’ Needing Government to Ensure Food Supply Is ‘Equitably Distributed’

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) called for the nationalization of certain parts of the supply chain, and stated that “we’re getting close to a reality where the government has to ensure that the food supply, that it is not only available, but that it’s equitably distributed.”

De Blasio said, “We’re going to need the supply chain nationalized in some form. Right now, there’s no effort to make sure that ventilators, surgical masks, even down to hand sanitizer, all these products should be put on a 24/7 production cycle. Whatever factories anywhere can make them should be cranking them out. They should be distributed according to federal priority, as you would in a war.”

He later stated, “We’re providing meals all week at the schools, pick-up meals, breakfast and lunch. We’re going to have to create feeding stations of some kind going forward, of different types. We’re doing home deliveries for seniors. We’re closing down senior center programming, but we’re doing — using senior centers as kitchens in effect, dispensaries to get meals out to seniors at their home. There’s a lot of pieces we’re going to have to alter. And look, the Great Depression and the New Deal are very instructive here. I don’t — I’m not saying bread lines, but let’s be clear, we’re getting close to a reality where the government has to ensure that the food supply, that it is not only available, but that it’s equitably distributed. We’re going to have to get into a heavy intervention in people’s economic lives. Because a whole lot of people are losing their livelihood by the hour, and they need a continuity of economic support, or their families are going to start to collapse in other ways.”

This was mentioned by an unnamed witness that Bill Ryan interviewed on 16 February 2010 for the interview titled "The Anglo-Saxon Mission: Bill Ryan's Presentation". The transcript of the interview is here.

Here is an excerpt from that transcript:
Quote Now, during the time of the ceasefire, everyone’s shocked, everyone’s frightened, everyone’s really terrified about where this is going to go. There are all kinds of heavy controls over populations everywhere.

And then the next thing that happens in this chess game that’s being played is that biological weapons are released on China. He heard this being discussed in this meeting.

They will release a flu-like virus that will be genetically targeted against the Chinese population. It’s racially targeted against the Chinese people. It’s designed to spread like wildfire and to knock out a large number of the Chinese people. And these people in this meeting were LAUGHING about this.

They said: China will catch a cold. Those were their words: China will catch a cold. And they were laughing about the fact that these biological weapons will wreak havoc among the Chinese population.

After that, then what effectively will be a kind of plague will actually spread right across the world to the West as well. Our source was not clear whether this was a Chinese retaliation, or whether the thing would just spread out of control in the way that it would be very understandable if it did, whether it’s racially targeted or not. These things actually mutate.

Hi all, I figured the question I have is best posted here.

Does anyone remember the whistleblower or person who said that "...the world would get a cold." At first I was thinking it was Clif High but really not sure. Does this ring a bell?

In light of COVID-19, I'd like to revisit this testimony but not sure where to locate it. My cursory searches haven't yielded any results. Much appreciated!

I'm no good a graphics or making a picture or drawing and posting it here, but I keep having an image of the Big Blue Ball we live on viewed from space with the words "CLOSED FOR THE FLU" across the picture of Earth.

Check out the language used to begin the third paragraph "U.S. service men will then spread out across the region..." (I did that from memory, but I think it's correct.)

If there really is a pandemic, then what else will they be spreading (and picking up)? And not only in that region, what about when they come home?

Japanese man tests positive for coronavirus again

Officials in western Japan's Mie Prefecture say a man who was a passenger on a cruise ship that was hit by the coronavirus has again tested positive after recovering from infection.

The man, who is in his 70s, first tested positive for the virus on February 14 while he was onboard the Diamond Princess, which was under quarantine off Yokohama.

He left a medical facility in Tokyo on March 2 after he was confirmed negative. He returned to his home in Mie by public transportation.

But he started to feel sick and developed a fever of 39 degrees Celsius on Thursday. He went to hospital on Friday, and on Saturday was confirmed to be infected again.

He is now receiving treatment at a hospital in the prefecture.

Prefectural officials plan to trace his recent activities and carry out checks of people who have had close contact with him.

This might be helpful. From the Mercola site.

Quercetin and Vitamin D — Allies Against Coronavirus?

    Story at-a-glance

    - As the outbreak of COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, more than 80 clinical trials are underway testing remedies ranging from intravenous vitamin C and stem cells to HIV drugs and malaria medication

    - A derivative of quercetin has been shown to provide broad-spectrum protection against a wide range of viruses, including SARS. Canadian and Chinese researchers are now collaborating on a study to assess the effectiveness of quercetin against COVID-19 infection

    - Quercetin is a powerful immune booster and broad-spectrum antiviral. It also inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which may be beneficial since serious COVID-19 infection and subsequent death appears to be due to cytokine storm activity

    - While there are no clinical trials investigating vitamin D for coronavirus specifically, there are plenty of data showing it’s an important component in the prevention and treatment of influenza and upper respiratory tract infections

-Other nutraceuticals thought to be useful in the prevention of coronavirus infection include NAC, spirulina, beta-glucan, glucosamine, selenium, zinc, lipoic acid and sulforaphane

There's a very interesting discussion happening right now on Infowars.com. Alex Jones has announced he'd going to file suit personally against Donald Trump if Trump closes down US interstate travel. He has a whole game plan to freeze or delay that action, supported by constitutional lawyer Norm Pattis — if Trump announces it.

Meanwhile, Mike Adams disagrees, citing the certain collapse of the healthcare system unless Trump takes that kind of decisive action. Alex Jones — who doesn't fully understand the math, and is still asking Mike Adams if this is really more dangerous than the regular flu — insists this is a matter of principle and that that kind of draconian action needs to be opposed.

They're both awaiting Trump's afternoon press conference, which is imminent, to see if he does announce this — which Alex Jones stated yesterday he'd been tipped off by two high level independent sources is going to happen "this week".
