“The heat, generally speaking, kills this kind of virus,” Trump said in the State Dining Room.

“A lot of people think that goes away in April as the heat comes in,” Trump said without explaining further. “We’re in great shape though, we have 12 cases, 11 cases, but we’re in very good shape.”

If this were the case, then how is it surviving and spreading in Singapore when it's currently 80+ degrees Fahrenheit there?

Does anyone have more insight into the mandatory flu vaccine that China mandated upon every Chinese citizen just before this outbreak? Could this be related?

Vizon, I was trying to get further information on mandatory flu vaccines for the Chinese citizens and couldn't find anything. Could you share where you got this information? If this is accurate it would be something to look into further.

I’ve looked with interest at the postings reporting increased cases of 'flu' throughout the USA and with this is mind want to do an analyses of a current news item in the UK. Apparently one British man, Steve Walsh is linked to 11 other cases. He picked up the virus in Singapore and spread the illness on holiday in a French ski resort.

For me, one of the most revealing aspects of the story is the fact that his wife is a practicing GP. Most people who have mild flu-like symptoms would probably not bother to go to the GP and indeed even if they did most over worked GPs would probably not test for the corona virus just presuming it to be flu. His wife obviously has a more concerted interest in the health of her husband and has hence been more thorough.

The result of her thoroughness meant the surgery where she worked, the County Oak medical centre in Brighton, was temporarily closed on Monday while they disinfected the surgery.

I am sure many surgeries looking at that would be wary of having a case of corona virus which would mean a disruption of their practise. As many people would be wary of being diagnosed with corona virus as it would mean going into quarantine.

I guess my point is I think the corona virus is more prevalent in the UK than we are currently aware. In London where I live there is a large Chinese student population and public transport is severely overcrowded, where in rush hour it is like being in a can of sardines. Evidence seems to suggest that the symptoms amongst those of western ethnicity Is less severe, only time will tell if this continues to be the case.

I am wondering if the reason for the outbreak is related to Chinese citizens having received an experimental vaccine that backfired and made them more susceptible to coronaviruses rather than protecting them? This is exactly what happened in multiple animal studies of coronavirus vaccines as far as I know. I can't verify this, however, I'll have to dig around a bit. I have just heard this through word of mouth.

That's interesting. New China TV (who published the video) is the YouTube channel of Xinhua News Agency. So this is kind of 'official'. It sure looks like state propaganda.

As several have pointed out, this very action seems to suggest the Chinese authorities have known for a while that the virus
    1. Is airborne, and/or
    2. Survives on surfaces for a long time.
Assuming so, neither of those is good news.

This is on their website as mentioned above ( china national health commision)

BEIJING — China has stepped up efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. Here are the latest developments:

    — China's National Health Commission said on Feb 11 that it received reports of 2,478 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 108 deaths on Feb 10 from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

By the end of Feb 10, a total of 1,016 people had died of the disease and 42,638 confirmed cases had been reported on the Chinese mainland.

    — A total of 3,996 patients infected with the virus had been discharged from hospital after recovery by the end of Feb 10.

    — Central China's Hubei province, the hardest-hit province, reported 2,097 new confirmed injection cases and 103 new deaths on Feb 10. The figure is 521 fewer than the new confirmed cases reported on Feb 9.

Hubei's capital city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic, reported 1,552 new infections and 67 new deaths.

    — Beijing, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Anhui and Henan each reported one new death.

New confirmed cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia outside Hubei province totaled 381 on Feb 10, dropping for the seventh consecutive day.

    — Wuhan rolls out stricter measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus: suspected cases with mild symptoms should be quarantined and those with fever be treated nearby; all residential communities will be closed.
The city aims to finish testing all suspected cases of novel coronavirus infection by Feb 11.

    — The China Development Bank has granted emergency loans worth 20.4 billion yuan (about $2.9 billion) on Feb 10 to enterprises in the manufacturing and purchasing of virus prevention and control supplies, daily necessities and constructors of the two makeshift hospitals in Wuhan.

So thats more than 100 people died at 1 day!

At the very end (46:58) of Michael Gu's latest Boxmining.com coronavirus update (video link here), he states that the reason why the New Delhi paper was withdrawn (the one with the title: Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Gag) was that this insert is also found in many other coronaviruses.

Can anyone cite a source for this? It's quite important, as speculation has been widespread that the Indian researchers had been pressured to withdraw the paper, and Infowars and Mike Adams' Natural News have both seized on the findings of this paper as fact. In turn, they've promoted that widely. (Whether it is 'fact' or not, only a tiny proportion of people have the training to know.)

I read in German mailing lists that Corona-virus might be a test run. Bill Gates uttered 3 months or so ago that they (deep state?) expect 60 millions death victims. Where should he know from?

Yes, well stated. I personally find the videos of Chris Martenson (his channel here) the best of the bunch in terms of seeing clearly through the fog.

He's been updating every day, is super-focused and concise, and his last update has had 300,000 views in less than 24 hours. (The one before that stands at 500,000.)

For what it's worth (maybe not a lot! ), I've been following this very closely from the start. My position right now is that:
    1. The authorities ALL acted too slowly (including the Chinese). And the WHO is negligent, untrustworthy and irresponsible — at least.
    2. It didn't originate from the wild animal and seafood market.
    3. This will be hard if not impossible to contain. That's because of the combo of asymptomatic infection (possibly as long as 24 days), a high R0 (transmissability) of up to 4, and the fact that it seems to be airborne and survives well on surfaces.
    4. It may only seem to mainly target Chinese males because Chinese men smoke a lot — far more than women — and that affects their ACE2 receptors considerably (a vulnerability which the virus exploits).
    5. I do think it has to be probable this is a manufactured virus (maybe a weapon), accidentally released. This explains why the Chinese authorities, after pretending nothing much had happened, suddenly flipped into a disorganized total panic when they saw it was spreading fast. (And if it's not a bioweapon, it might as well be one. It has many bioweapon-like functional characteristics.)
    6. The infection numbers have not slowed down. (And in China are at least 10x greater than reported, anyway.) The definition of a 'case' has been redefined: someone who tests positive but who is asymptomatic is NOT regarded as a 'case' any more, re the statistics. Go figure.
    7. There's widespread talk of an earlier Pirbright Institute patent for the virus. But that was for an avian virus that's quite unrelated.
    8. Any vaccine (whether one wants to take it or not!) will be at least 9 months away.
    9. The virus may well survive just fine in warm climates (like Singapore and Thailand!). We may not be able to count on it fading away towards the Northern Hemisphere summer.
    10. The virus is real. It kills. It's far more dangerous than regular flu. The CFR (case fatality rate) may be much higher than we think. (Of those cases which have 'completed' — i.e. the patient either fully recovered or died — the CFR is 20%, or 1 in 5.)
    11. 5G may well weaken the immune system, but if it makes someone sick, that can't cause any infection of others.
    12. As mentioned above, the virus seems to be (a) airborne, and (b) able to survive on inorganic surfaces for long periods. I'd argue that the Chinese know this very well, hence all the large-scale disinfecting of streets and buildings. (Not people!)
    13. The Chinese, faced with an enormous dilemma, are very strongly persuading their workforce to restart work in their closed factories. Then, of course, it'll spread even more. They're very likely to know that, but the economy is more important.
    14. I do think this is a significant problem. There are many aspects to good health, definitely including being strong-minded, cheerful and positive. But we also have to manage risk intelligently and responsibly. As I wrote earlier, one can't just stride out to cross a highway in heavy traffic looking straight ahead and hoping for the best. One also has to look both ways, several times, and wait till you're confident it's safe. Being cheerful and positive alone won't cut it.

Bill Gates uttered 3 months or so ago that they (deep state?) expect 60 millions death victims. Where should he know from?
That was based on a computer simulation of the progress of an imaginary virus epidemic originating from pigs in Brazil.

I am anticipating severe economic effects which are bound to occur- and which are being rather downplayed in mainstream media. A good percentage of our pharmaceuticals and chemicals come from China. When the markets react, there is potential for an enormous economic impact, which could last for awhile. Perhaps someone with more background in business/manufacturing could comment. Thanks for everyone's thoughtful posts.

Seems that the media is downplaying it in order to keep the economy afloat for as long as possible.

My intuition tells me we are seriously in for a bumpy ride this time around.

I pray that I am wrong. I am having a baby boy in the next 1-2 weeks.

Forget about all this for a while and concentrate instead on the wonderful times to come with your new baby boy! Btw, Ian is a lovely name for a boy!🤣 xx

Thanks Bill. IMO the more reliable information we have, the more empowered we are. Glad more people are concerned enough to think about what we have been able to glean from the "news" available.

OH! a prison inmate who came to the UK from Thailand is now showing up with Covid-19. That is pretty concerning as any prison is already less than health optimum.

I appreciate the frequent updates from John Campbell

    I appreciate this channel also.
