This is from the for what it's worth file. I saw this posted today on Neon Revolt's GAB feed. From an insider who knows well placed people.
    Takeaways I can remember:
    1. The virus is expected to infect every major city/urban area in the world and cannot be stopped. The expectation is that hundreds of millions will be infected.
    2. It mutates into a deadlier form. The OP stated that if it gets into South American bats we're all in deep trouble.
    3. No data from China is believable. For now, that also goes for the WHO and CDC.
    4. The Chinese economy will crater soon. With so much coming from China this will have a severe domino effect, especially on the US economy. He says stock up on at least one month of food and necessities.
    5. If you have stocks, get out now. The markets are expected to crash in March. He says invest in biomedics and plastics, you could be rich by the time this is history.
    6. He predicted that the first EU country to get hit would be Italy, predicted a while ago.
    7. The PTB didn't want to incite panic, thus keeping the truth under wraps.
    8. I have also read that large doses of vitamin C is helpful.
There is much more in the post. Fascinating post. I had to enlarge it to read it.

I do not worry of such hype of this virous.

If I am to get it, then I will just deal with it.

I can take whatever is thown my way. You only need to be self efficient, and understand the outdoors,{ Momma}, To survive.

There are many that some call weeds, right outside your door that are very nutrisious, and healthy. But a book of edible plants, and you will be fine.

Best to all. (not well spelled).

Are you dyslexic I am. When I first started to post on the internet my spelling was worse than yours. Weirdly enough learning to play music on "simple" instruments seems to have nearly cured it. You're easy to understand so don't sweat it. Might be a good idea to get a spellchecker. Btw never had dandelion soup but am going to give it a go one day. Have a wild herb and plant book somewhere but haven't read it for years, must remedy that.

I bought [more] groceries for stocking up. I've bought an oxygen reader, liposomal vit C & liposomal glutathione to add to my other health items.

I'm making another 3-gallon batch of super elderberry syrup.

And I'm hosting a round table discussion for my family members on Thursday, including a lot of the [non-conspiracy] information that has been shared on PA.

ETA and I bought a new herb book that includes a lot of medicinal Chinese herbs that are commonly used in landscaping here in the US and/or are invasive species (and easy to find!)

I made the trek to the city and stocked up on some grocery items missing from my pantry. Paper good mostly, I cannot produce them on the ranch. I had a long look at my first aide supplies. I also had a long look at my fortifications. If this gets weird people will begin to steal from those they figure have stuff. I pretty much live 3 miles from nowhere but my Dad always told me to be prepared for everything!

I want to avoid food processed in China.
Much chicken is processed there I understand.

Any other food exported and risky?

    How about pork?

Do we know what brands of dog food are safe?

This is very spooky. Neon's GAB feed said today that the virus infecting Iran is different than the one in China. Gulp. They did say it mutates.

To Ron - I would not buy any pork with the Smithfield label on it. China owned.

    Absolutely nothing!
    Made me laugh!

As I've written several times now, when I'm hiking in the mountains I always have my emergency stuff right in the bottom of my backpack. Not much, but a few small key items that could be lifesavers in extremis.

And they stay right there, all dry and sealed. They've been untouched for years, like a spare tire in a car that's never used. But I know it's all there, and so with that all taken care of it enables me to enjoy my hikes wherever I go, and whatever might happen.

Quote And they stay right there, all dry and sealed. They've been untouched for years
When my grand dad was still alive, we would go to the mountains every other week or so. We always carried a backpack full of stuff for survival like some food cans and medicine and so on. It was a primary task for someone in the group to always make sure it was dry and safe, because everyone's lives could depend on it

So about two years ago went on a trip with my little sis and before going out we had the backpack ready and then suddenly i realized we've been packing the same stuff for 10+ years...

So i checked and all kinds of expired medicine and most other stuff well past best by date (years) LOL

My (Not) survival ready pride took a big hit that day 😭🤷🏻‍♀️

I have done nothing to prepare for this current event, except i do have about half a month of stored canned groceries + water and the usual medical stuff, otherwise it is life as usual. I'm not sure but i it's my perception that doing stuff like running to buy all available food and taking tons of cash out of the bank and such would actually help in creating a bigger crisis

If there's going to be a market crash soon, won't everyone pulling stocks out at the same time cause it to begin with? People buying all available food beyond what markets/stores can handle will also cause food shortages, doesn't it? How long would it take before stores can get more food in stock and meanwhile people will go into a rampage because there's nothing to buy anywhere?
Машика Алиса - Sometimes, people think i'm American with bad education... And i feel red faced because i've been trying very hard to write American English for years, i never tell them the truth...

I haven't prepared but I always have what I call a 'go bag' ready. It's basically 3-5 days of necessities. I have this ready to rock because of annual hurricane threats. This is another big reason why I always have my vehicle well maintained, you don't want to have to get your tires changed when you're in a SHTF scenario. I made this mistake once before: had my tires changed at the last minute and on the drive home heard the sound of what I later discovered to be a muffler they damaged. The next morning I woke up and one of the brand new tires was flat. That was a lovely time..

Honestly, I'm not worried about the virus (*knock on wood). If the tide starts to change it will be easy for me to just beef up my 'stores' so to speak.

Some random 2 cents I'd have is try to learn gardening to some degree before disasters. I can't stress that enough. And also from my experience in preparing for evacuations I've discovered that the logistics of the situation is a lot harder to deal with than the physical stockpiling. Once you have a method and the logistics to go with it (if that makes sense) then everything else just falls together.

How much does your pack weigh?

A 'show and tell' of forum member's survival packs/stockpiles would be neat.

Here's a YouTube channel, hosted by Ethan Galstad, that seems to be quite useful for Covid-19 preparedness, especially for those who may feel very concerned. That's because the best remedy for concern, about anything at all, is action.
Most of his frequent updates are very short, just a few minutes long. Here's a good example. At first glance, he seems to be a very good guy.

One of several useful Food Storage Calculators, recommended by Ethan Galstad. Valuable to figure out what weights of items to buy and store for x people for y weeks or months. (If you want to! But at least you have the numbers, and can make decisions based on costs.)

Quote Police in Texas 'warn' community of meth 'contaminated with the coronavirus'
by BakersfieldNow StaffThursday, February 27th 2020s

JOHNSON CITY, Texas — A police department in Texas is warning their community of meth that may be contaminated with the coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, the Johnson City Police Department said it has "reason to believe methamphetamine in Blanco County may be contaminated with the Coronavirus."

They are asking that if community members have meth they should have it tested at their police department before using.

And they said they are also willing to do housecalls if they prefer to keep it in the privacy of their own home.

I decided not to read much more about it.

I went out into the forest and said prayers for the earth. I brushed my horse and smelled deeply of her freshly brushed coat. I had a long talk with my dogs about chasing Otto (my resident armadillo). I picked some fresh herbs from the garden. Burned some sage to cleanse my home. Now I think I will bake some fresh bread. I have been drying a huge batch of acorns and I need to use them up! Tonight I plan to drink the mead I made with dandelions and watch the stars!

    Bravo!

Do please read this wonderful thread. It's a great remedy (and balance!) for anything at all.

This week I started dehydrating various fruits, herbs and vegetables: kale, celery, basil, beets, bell peppers and also made beef and liver jerky in my dehydrator. Next on my list is dehydrating tomatoes, sausage, cottage cheese and eggs.

Now that I have about 7 months stored food for the 2 of us, I am branching out to buy specialty items. The prospect of being self-isolating for a long time makes me want to have as many interesting flavors and food ingredients to cook with. This week I will concentrate on finding cheeses that keep well, crackers, wines and cocktail liquors, spices I have overlooked.

I wish everyone a fun time prepping!
feels great to maximize ones chances with great supplements and food.

I'm personally not doing anything beyond how I prepare for the typical influenza season with regard to COVID-19. I'm not as concerned about my body's reaction to a possible exposure to COVID-19 as I am everyone else's reaction to the COVID-19 creeping into the States. That's what I'm preparing for, personally.

The good data so far doesn't suggest to me this is a particularly dangerous virus in the larger scheme of things... since most of my income comes from my business operations in China, I've had to look far deeper into this topic than I had wished to.

Two things to note regarding the virus itself... unlike the influenza virus, it's a bit harder to tell who may develop respiratory distress after the onset of symptoms. Yes, older/sicker folks are more apt to, but there have been some real curveballs relative to the data we've seen so far. Still, slim chances, but any added bit of "random" is something to take note of, hence the bizarre response of China. They were truly dealt a tough hand, and maybe the largest impact of this virus will be on their leadership's future stability, but that's an entirely different and complicated topic I'd be happy to discuss elsewhere.

The second note... a variant could mutate and cause some localized havoc, but this risk is inherent to all viruses.

I prepare for the flu season all year by making sure I get plenty of good sleep (7-8 uninterrupted hours), maintaining adequate blood levels of Vitamin D (40 and 80 ng/mL), and keeping my distress levels low (yoga, strength training, outdoor time.)

But again, one of the best things anyone can do to prepare for COVID-19, especially if they live in an area it hasn't spread to just yet, and it's looking like it'll end up pretty much everywhere, is to have a decent supply of food/water/necessities in the event panic sets in throughout your town. If there's any quarantines, closures, or curfews enacted, it's best to be prepared.

And the silly paper masks don't do anything!!
