    Default Ouija Stories

This thread isn't meant as an endorsement or denouncement of the Ouija. Like most things "occult", it all depends on who is engaged in the practice and what that person's intentions are.

It's been a long time since I used a Ouija. Twenty years roughly. My recollection of the messages coming thru involve a whole lot of gibberish punctuated by the occasional meaningful or prescient ones. And maybe one or two profound ones.

I recall bringing the board to a creepy cemetery late one night with some friends, and getting very little action from it. And I recall using it on a sunny afternoon and getting some frenetic action from it. The thing is unpredictable, for reasons I think I can strongly guess at but will refrain from atm.

On this particular afternoon I recall 3 specific messages the board offered (It's a shame my memory is so poor because it said so many interesting things that day). The planchette was really zooming around; it was kind of unsettling to be honest. But it was also very exciting. The entity coming thru was clear and deliberate, and the messages that day ranged from funny and light to serious and dark. There was some obvious mischief at play, but also what seemed like - strangely - a real sincerity.

    1) It said the friend I was using the planchette with was gay. He was on the other side of the board when the message was being spelled out, and didn't catch it (the letters were upside down to him). When he asked what the board was saying, I told him I couldn't quite make it out. That was a lie of course. After I told him the lie, the board spelled out the message "party pooper". Well, today, roughly 20 years later, I found out that that particular friend is indeed gay...which reminded me of that Ouija session so long ago, and why I'm starting this thread. I didn't tell him what the board said about him that day because it was a heavy moment, first of all, and telling a man who is living a straight life that a spirit has declared him gay seemed an awkward thing to say over a candlelit table in a dark room.

    2) It told me I was a lama. I didn't know what a lama was at the time. I thought the board meant the animal (llama). But no, it was telling me I was a Tibetan spiritual teacher apparently. When I found out what a lama was, I assumed the board was referring to a past life. I wish I had asked some follow up questions, but the planchette was zooming around the board with such energy that I could barely keep up.

    3) It predicted the death of my friend, Matt. It said he'd be dead within a year..and sure enough, he was. He was chased by a group of thugs thru some woods and got hit by a car as he attempted to run across a busy road.

The board said endless funny and poignant and ridiculous things that day. I wish I could recall just one or two more of them. It was really fascinating. If I feel motivated later I may call an old friend who was there to get his recollections.

Interested to hear your Ouija stories.

There are a lot of entities that show up a Ouija sessions that are some where between mischievous and completely malevolent. Because spirits don't have bodies, there isn't too much they can do to interact with the world unless they get power over someone. It's always good to think about the spirit and what are its intentions.

I have to wonder about a spirit who wanted to out your friend and then made fun of you because you didn't play along with it's party game. I would also wonder why it was telling you about the death of your friend. Was it to help you, or was it trying to show you it's power to predict the future, hoping you would get sucked into a relationship with it?

I've never had any success getting messages with a Ouija board and perhaps that's fortunate. I did have a very strange synchronicity/ghost story about one which came into my possession in a strange way. In a way, I got a message from the board, just by having it present.

This isn't to say all Ouija stories are negative. The poet James Merrill did ouija board readings for 20 years and incorporated the story of his readings and many of the readings themselves into his 500 page epic poem "The Changing Light of Sandover."

Just saying, if you continue to do Ouija readings, be careful of what type of energy you are bringing into the world.

Ouija boards played a huge role in my life. I actually wrote a book about the wild journey that began with a Ouija session. At the beginning of the book I include this warning:
Quote I do not encourage anyone to use a Ouija board. I don’t believe they are toys, or light forms of divination. For me, the Ouija board is an apparatus that can potentially open us to obscure energies that we may not be prepared to work with. My journey began with a Ouija board; it played a pivotal role in the early part of my learning. I do not regret the influence it played as it contributed to making me who I am today. However, had I known then what I know now, I probably would not have made the same decisions. While the Ouija board opened me up to a new level of reality, I now know that that level can be accessed in much clearer, safer, and gentler ways. At the end of the day I would say that everything that came through the Ouija board was somewhat dubious, whereas the information that came to me through signs, symbols, and my own realizations are the pieces that I feel are the most exciting, solid, and meaningful.

Well, Mike, you always make me laugh. Leave it to you to have a positive experience with a Ouija board. I caught the attention of a terrifying presence because someone else in the house was fooling around with the board. It didn't help matters that we lived in a haunted house and the theme from "The Exorcist" would play on the radio in my bedroom.

I think it is dangerous in general to call on someone or something when you don't know their intentions. Rather like opening the door to your house and inviting everyone in. The next day, you might be missing your stereo system; or worse.

    I'm still chuckling.

I hear ya bro - the entity kind of kept us off balance. There was a definite trickster element to it. One moment it was kind and sincere, the next impatient and cynical, the next apathetic, the next excited, and so on. It was very uncool to attempt to out my friend, but that was typical of it's mischievous attitude. It's motivations regarding that and Matt's death are tough to discern.

I did get ahold of a friend that was there that day a few mins ago. His recollections were pretty foggy, but he did recall an interesting detail - the entity's name: Mamne. I'm sure he's right about that. I do remember that now, pretty clearly.

My one experience that I recall with a Ouija board was long ago when I was in junior high school, at my best friends' slumber party.
There were 10 of us there as I recall and the last question we asked which ended the session rather abruptly was: " How many girls here are still virgins?"
    The answer was 5.
Since being a virgin back in the early 60s for girls our age was still a matter of some delicacy, we took a poll to see if we wanted to pursue the matter with more questions.
The result was 5 for and 5 against.
That seemed to corroborate the accuracy of the Ouija's answer in an unsettling way, and we decided to let the matter drop!
    Each breath a gift...

I used a Ouija board only once: it was during my undergraduate school yrs.; was doing it with a co-student who claimed to have clairvoyant powers (don't know if she really had them but she looked the role: a wide but at the same time sinister smile)-

while "we" were using it suddenly an unknown force (obviously positive) came over me and I uncontrollably smashed both sides of the board together cracking the plastic feather/mouse (whatever it's called in Ouija circles)-

I refuse to play with fire anymore-

My thoughts is that Ouija is a tool that allows parts of our unconscious or subconscious or another higher aspect of ourselves to be tapped.

"But DeDukshyn, what about the evil spirits?" - I have been observing my dreams and lucid dreams for many years, and something I have noticed is that the dream always only follows your emotional reactions to it. If you are in dream state and you see something horrifying, it will only act out horrifyingly if you give it that energy through an emotional reaction or expectation.

This principle, although hardly ever noticed, is also at play in this physical realm. I went through a period of my life where I was a bit of a **** disturber. Let's just say that at the time, through mental/spiritual self work, I learned to become fearless (that has since somewhat subsided). The world around me changed, and nothing could threaten me, nothing scared me. My friends were amazed at how I would get myself into "interesting" predicaments, but as long as I kept my head cool and didn't react emotionally, everything always went the way I intended it to. Always.

My point with that is that we see things as "us, and them", but never do we see these things as "us, as them" - yet when we are questioned on our spiritual knowledge most of us would at least say "everything is connected" and "we are one", "this is an illusion" -- but at the same time our beliefs in other areas defeats this thinking that we say we "know" to be true. Both those views cannot be true at the same time, so one has to go.

Mike, I'll assume that your friend knew he was gay at the time you played it, right? That fact would have rested inside his unconsciousness ... as far as your friend's death goes, I believe that we all have innate capabilities to be proper multidimensional beings (as I believe is what was intended and is the goal), but we are so rigidly planted in perceiving only the physical that when we do experience ESP like scenarios, we have to mystify it into some foreign and strange event and will naturally shape our perception of such events with whatever flavour of emotions we chose to experience with it.

I know many will probably disagree with some of that, but that's my view and I'm sticking with it!

Both of them are feeling motion and it is going in the same direction. If something s operating through the subconscious, it is operating the the subconscious of two people and doing so synchronously.

In my college years we dabbled with ouija, and really wish we hadn’t. Horrendous things happened, glasses smashed with noone near, mantelpiece picture bent and fell out, curtains blew after windows opened but no wind. We had a catalyst teenager who was from a violent background. Yet myself and best friend (also teenagers) went to Cathedral and got exorcised!!! The perpetrator’s ouija name was Roque, he was constant in our sessions, not a nice being at all. Don’t go a-dabbling as there can be dire and scary consequences.... The girl who was very bad is still very bad, but hiding under a ‘healing’ role, she knows how violent and extortionist she was, I’ve never come across such a nasty persona, even in our old age now. She is aware but has no guilt.

Both of them are feeling motion and it is going in the same direction. If something s operating through the subconscious, it is operating the the subconscious of two people and doing so synchronously.
When I was a kid, I remember playing this game, where one person would lay down, and four friends would gather around and try to lift the laying person up with one finger each. It was impossible. Then, we'd do this spooky and dramatic ritual, with some chanting about how the person was "light as a feather", etc. Then after the "ritual", we would try the one finger lift again, and we'd end up throwing the person up in the air because they were so light.

I don't think that we called any "muscular" spirits that observed and decided to come help us lift our friend.

The reason this innocent little "ritual" works is about building belief. The ritual and chant builds in our subconscious the belief that the laying person is "light as a feather" (the chanting had words in it to that effect). The power of that belief then makes it true (or at least to satisfy our perceptions). When the ego has a "belief" its not really a true belief - its not effective at anything.

The subconscious is programmable and very powerful - hence why hypnotism is a thing, and why religions, governments, media, advertising, etc. are all vying to program your subconscious to their advantage.

I explained this more thoroughly in an old thread I started long ago on meditation ... http://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...editation-now-

BTW, I was suggesting that nothing is working "through" their subconscious, but rather that the subconscious itself is incredibly powerful and already full of all sorts of things that it has been programmed with - some of this runs as autonomous programs, and sometimes as alternate personalities, ego's programs, etc ... I am suggesting that this is just another aspect of ourselves we don't properly understand at all because we only ever react to these sorts of things with fear. That fear then reinforces itself as a belief, and we know the power of a true belief.

This is also what I was getting at with my dream description previously.

Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

    Default Re: Ouija Stories

This is such a huge subject that books can be written on it-and have. At a time in my life I utilized a board every day, for years. That was long ago. Yet a sort of talent for them runs in my family. How so you might ask? This is a large subject to unpack-so please bear with me.

Your conscious interface with ‘3D’ material reality occurs through a Gateway of sorts. Now that is just a term, so don’t get too caught up in the vagueness of language or labels. For our purposes, you have to realize that ALL of us-each one of us, ARE ‘gateways’ unto ourselves. That is--YOU come into this world through a doorway from the infinite and timeless place, and are projected into a physical device (that we call our body) that is utilized for traversing physical reality. WE are many facets of the infinite creation, experiencing and reflecting upon its self/our self.

The principle I describe is true for all conscious beings throughout the material universe. The template is created in another ‘dimension’ and spirals into this reality. The term ‘Gateway’ is just a word. This gateway is what keeps us connected to the basic underlying derivative structure of light from which our universe takes its form--the place where we are ALL connected. However, what most humans are almost entirely unaware of--is the fact that we can learn to control this personal ‘gateway’ or connection. It widens or narrows whenever you consciously or unconsciously send your thoughts and intentions to a given person or place. Prayer is one way we utilize it.

Now there are many, many, gateways in our world aside from the ones within your heart. They occur when the natural energy fields of the earth come together in certain ways. Think of the phenomena at Skinwalker Ranch, or Sedona, Arizona, or Trout Lake, or Avebury, UK . These are large gateways into our world (that are indeterminately stable) that can be utilized by intelligences from other places who possess the technology to exploit them, and sometimes by other beings who just happen to stumble through them. A detailed understanding of the multidimensional aspects of our reality are scarcely worth going in to here-but super fascinating to contemplate.

Now comes the Ouija Board, or scrying device. Even a dowsing rod. They are forms of technology that allow the relaxation of the left brain-or conscious brain-to take place. At which point the unconscious side of the mind is able to take over. A similar phenomenon takes place during hypnosis, or when you relax your eyes and stare at one of those magic-eye pictures. Once the focus relaxes, the image becomes very clear. Anyway, that part of your consciousness that doesn't typically have control of your motor movements then can influence your arms and hands. It utilizes tiny, involuntary muscle movements (called the ideomotor effect) in order to move the planchette around the board. The participant is not usually aware that they are pushing it at all. The information that comes through in this way comes from a myriad of sources. The more unskilled the participant-the less control he or she has as to who comes through. Sometimes it is your own unspoken thoughts, sometimes beings who exist in other realms, sometimes gibberish. Beings who proclaim themselves Ghosts, demons, or angels are common. The point is: they are able to speak into this reality because of You, through You, not because of the board. You are the portal, just walking around every day—blissfully unaware that you possess this connection.
“Someday after mastering winds, waves, tides and gravity, we shall harness the energies of love. And then, for the second time in the history of the world, man will discover fire.”
    ~Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
