Oh the humanity. Just when you thought it couldn't get any more surreal. Poor Joe. I'm seriously starting to feel sorry for the guy now.

In his latest clanger he walked out on stage and begins playing the song "Despacito" from his cell phone. His team really need to vet everything he says and does before he says and does them.

    "Despacito" (in English)

    {....}
You are the magnet and I am the metal
I'm getting closer and I'm putting together the plan
Just thinking about it gets your pulse racing

    Oh yeah
    Oh yeah

Ya, I'm already liking it more than normal
All my senses are asking for more
This must be taken without any haste

    Slowly

I want to breathe your neck slowly
Let me tell you things in my ear...

At some point, you've just got to laugh out loud.

    Lyrics go on:

I want to be your rhythm (eh oh) (uh oh, uh oh)
That you teach my mouth (eh oh) (uh oh, uh oh)
Your favorite places (uh oh) (favorites, favorites baby)

You know that your heart with me makes you bam bam
You know that baby is looking for me bam bam

Come test my mouth to see how it tastes to you (eh eh)
I want, I want, I want to see how much love fits you..

    I'll leave it there..

Of course social media is on fire with this right now.

First a Freudian slip, and now the odd synchronicity of a song whose translated title and lyrics immediately evoke some of Biden's most well-known derogatory nicknames, i.e. "Sleepy Joe" and "Creepy Joe"! One cannot help but to wonder if his campaign manager is in a sleepy trance too.

What a circus this is. Oddly entertaining, while at the same time making one feel something akin to the sad clown paradox...

But back to the question, Why Biden?

Here's an interesting short video report that was broadcast 5½ years ago by CNN — before the cable news network had completely morphed into a raging propaganda arm of the Democratic Party — and that is actually more relevant today than it was then.

Not only does the report address the troubling reality of Joe's creepy moments and other embarrassing gaffes, it most significantly demonstrates that Joe Biden's viability as a potential presidential candidate used to be openly questioned even by left-leaning mainstream news outlets.

The lengths the Fakestream Media go to. Mistakes like this don't "just happen". This is blatant manipulation, to show a candidate in a favourable light. CBS should get in trouble for this.

Maybe they thought people wouldn't notice the MAGA signs and Trump hats!

Well, if the implication is that something nefarious or unseemly is going on there, the same must hold true here:

It's not the same, not from where I'm at

I've tried to treat this carefully and delicately, I never want to upset anyone or cause a scene. I did explain my position in this post, but maybe I need to be unequivocally clear. This is not a political election anymore. It isn't cons vs libs, right vs left, red vs blue. What used to be Rs, and certainly what used to be Ds, basically no longer exist.

This is not a normal election with normal stakes. I'm purely stating my opinion here, of what I see.

This is a fight against the complete destruction of the West. End of.

So the "implication" is simply this - re the above tweet. If you're endorsing Biden, you're either A), unobservant, possibly unconscious [being as polite as possible], or B) utterly comped.

In other words, Scientific American is B). Because there is no C).

Anyone else get the impression the deep state leadership behind the Democratic Party has been decapitated to a certain degree. Biden is like a puppet floundering after the puppeteers strings have been cut. The whole campaign is nothing but meme-fodder at this point.

Perhaps this is why they falsely depicted Biden's Latino outreach event (they used an image of Trump supporters at a Trump event in Arizona).

Yes, by definition this is , a political election. Both sides are hyper focused in their trenches like never before, demonization of "the other" is becoming less and less tolerated, but this is not the epic "Good vs. Evil - There Can Be Only One" that both sides are pounding on.

I think this mindset is extremely dangerous, as battlefield like dehumanization of "the bad guys" is already well entrenched and gaining momentum; nothing good comes out of dehumanizing one's political foes, or any foes for that fact. I think most of us know the history on that...

Now if this is not political, why does one side get all their "news" from MSNBC, CNN, and left wing political hacks, while the other side gets all their news FOX, OANN, InfoWars, X22, and right wing political hacks?

No, it's not, but certain people are sure creating that illusion. Remember how things were so dire post 9/11, that we just had to start suspending certain individual liberties, in lieu of launching the never ending as we now know "War on Terror" to get the bad guys?

I see this as similar, being pitted against one another with shadows and puppetry just as in that time, and just as in "Plato's Cave".

Is it really that black and white?

Call it what you will, but nothing about it will change regardless of who wins this election. Provided we don't rip each other to shreds first, in which case the form of government would be rendered irrelevent.

Gracie May/ thats why the problem is the human being itself. I like the sports analogy, you hate the superstar on the other team you hate until he,s traded to your team. Then you love him. we see the world thru our world view and its simply human to do so. the key is to see and realize it. Its part of who we are, unless of course you dont have any care of passion in the issue . then you can be a cool arbiter .

Why are Biden's Senate Records Hidden from the Public?

"Judicial Watch filed its opening brief in its lawsuit for access to former Vice President Joe Biden’s Senate records at the University of Delaware. The new court filing comes in Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation’s lawsuit filed after a Delaware Attorney General’s opinion denied them access to former Vice President Joe Biden’s Senate records, which are housed at the University of Delaware’s library (Daily Caller News Foundation v. https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-...ate-records-2/ :
"(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed its opening brief in its lawsuit for access to former Vice President Joe Biden’s Senate records at the University of Delaware. University of Delaware (No. N20A-07-001)). The Delaware Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware on July 2, 2020.

The lawsuit is challenging a state attorney general opinion that the Biden records are not “public records” because, the opinion concludes without evidence, no public funds are used to support the Biden records project at the University of Delaware.

Judicial Watch responded in court that it is impossible for the Biden Senate documents, which are housed in the University of Delaware’s Library to not be supported by public funds. Judicial Watch notes that the University admitted that “the State of Delaware provides the University with approximately $120 million each year through an appropriation in the state budget,” but never shows how public funds are not used to support the papers.

Judicial Watch further points out that “archival storage space and professional staff members’ time are things of value that it can be inferred are paid for with public funds,” and notes that the requests even listed the, “University personnel who maintain the Senatorial Papers whose salaries, it can be inferred, are paid with State funds.” Judicial Watch requests that the Court order the University to search for and produce the requested records.

“Anyone running for public office, especially our highest office, should expect public scrutiny of their record, especially of their public record,” said Daily Caller News Foundation President Neil Patel. “It’s amazing that Joe Biden’s public papers are still sealed and nobody else in the press seems to care. We care and we are going to fight to get these records opened up as they should be.”

“Delaware is hiding, in violation of law, Joe Biden’s Senate records,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is time for the University of Delaware to stop protecting Joe Biden and follow Delaware law, which requires them to provide public access to these public records.”

Judicial Watch filed its FOIA lawsuit after the University denied its April 30, 2020, FOIA request for:

All records regarding the proposed release of the records pertaining to former Vice President Joe Biden’s tenure as a Senator that have been housed at the University of Delaware Library since 2012. This request includes all related records of communication between the University of Delaware and any other records created pertaining to any meeting of the Board of Trustees during which the proposed release of the records was discussed.
All records of communication between any representative of the University of Delaware and former Vice President Biden or any other individual acting on his behalf between January 1, 2018 and the present.
On April 30, the Daily Caller News Foundation submitted its FOIA request to the University for:

All agreements concerning the storage of more than 1,850 boxes of archival records and 415 gigabytes of electronic records from Joe Biden’s senate career from 1973 through 2009.
Communications between the staff of the University of Delaware Library and Joe Biden or his senatorial, vice-presidential or political campaign staff, or for anyone representing any of those entities between 2010 [April 30,2020] about Joe Biden’s senate records.
Any logs or sign-in sheets recording any individuals who have visited the special-collections department where records from Joe Biden’s senate career are stored between 2010 to the date of this request.
All records from Joe Biden’s Senate career that have been submitted to the University of Delaware Library.
Tara Reade, who accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when she worked as a staff assistant to the then-senator, has said that she believes a workplace discrimination and harassment complaint she filed against Biden at the time may be in the records housed at the University of Delaware. Biden also admitted to communicating with Vladimir Putin and other foreign leaders when he was a United State Senator.

Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation are being represented by Delaware lawyers Ted Kittila and Bill Green of Halloran Farkas + Kittila LLP."

I am (*self admittedly*) a fervent libertarian; there are many things I agree and disagree with on the "right" and "left". This board is definitely very left still; though I do see how you can think it's not on certain topics.

I think we are predispositioned to fall into dichotomy (via social conditioning mostly, tribalism secondarily); politics and religion are some of the best examples of this, though we see echos of this in alternate thoughts and concepts such as what brought up on this board.

I've found the best way to detect this is recognizing when your response is immediate/urgent, vehement and dismissive.

It is a very difficult pattern to break and is the only thing I've found to accurately analogize with addiction.
Hard times create strong men, Strong men create good times, Good times create weak men, Weak men create hard times.
    Where are you?

Is it possible that you feel Scientific American is compromised because they disagree with your current world view, and the Police Benevolent Association gets "kudos", because they do agree with your world view?
What if Scientific American had suddenly up and endorsed Trump instead, would they get kudos in that case?

Gracie May/ thats why the problem is the human being itself. I like the sports analogy, you hate the superstar on the other team you hate until he,s traded to your team. Then you love him. we see the world thru our world view and its simply human to do so. the key is to see and realize it. Its part of who we are, unless of course you dont have any care of passion in the issue . then you can be a cool arbiter .
    Hiya Doug,

Yes I think your sports superstar analogy is quite the good one! On our team he's a hero, when traded to another team that goes bye bye. Now we boo and hiss when his name is announced as a starter for the invading team.

In "pro" wrestling, there's the "baby faces", and the "heels". Always give 'em something to love, and even better, something they love to hate.

Chuckle, how successful would the old show "Dallas" have been, without that scoundrel J.R. Ewing...

And remember how much we're supposed to hate Al Qaida, and Russia, and China, and Syria, and Iran, and Venezuela, and BLM, and Antifa, and the cops, and the protesters, and Julian Assange, and Sadaam Hussein, and Muamar Gaddafi, and Fidel Castro, and Joe Biden, and Donald Trump, and FOX NEWS, and MSNBC, and, and, and...

So the "implication" is simply this - re the above tweet. If you're endorsing Biden, you're either A), unobservant, possibly unconscious [being as polite as possible], or B) utterly comped.

In other words, Scientific American is B). Because there is no C).
Interestingly enough, the Miles Mathis essay that I read last night tends to agree with you, re Scientific America being "utterly comped."
I noted it as coincidence (for me) that the subject came up twice in one day, under two very different aspects. (Miles refers to it as "Un-Scientific America") I always rather enjoyed SA, and their endorsement shocked me a bit.

Now we have a President who has brought soldiers home and avoided conflict. No war. And it totally goes un noticed as if its somehow taken for granted.
Which wars has he ended Doug?

Has he also ended the coups, drone strikes, and strangling sanctions that only hurt ordinary people?

Has he stopped going after Julian Assange?

I give him credit for easing the tensions with North Korea, but beyond that I’m not seeing any big changes in the ever aggressive US foreign policy.

I know your heart is in the right place Chester, but lists of Presidential "achievements" aren't really worth a whole lot except to people who are big fans. Unless maybe you're willing to sing the praises of accomplishments from these guys as well, then at least we'll have some consistency.

    Bill Clinton:

Longest economic expansion in American history
More than 22 million new jobs
    Highest homeownership in American history
    Lowest unemployment in 30 years
Raised education standards, increased school choice, and doubled education and training investment
Largest expansion of college opportunity since the GI Bill
Connected 95 percent of schools to the Internet
Lowest crime rate in 26 years
100,000 more police for our streets
Enacted most sweeping gun safety legislation in a generation
Family and Medical Leave Act for 20 million Americans
Smallest welfare rolls in 32 years
    Higher incomes at all levels
Lowest poverty rate in 20 years
Lowest teen birth rate in 60 years
Lowest infant mortality rate in American history
Deactivated more than 1,700 nuclear warheads from the former Soviet Union
Protected millions of acres of American land
Paid off $360 billion of the national debt
Converted the largest budget deficit in American history to the largest surplus
Lowest government spending in three decades
Lowest federal income tax burden in 35 years
More families own stock than ever before
Most diverse cabinet in American history
    https://clintonwhitehouse5.archives....tyears-01.html

    Barack Obama:

    Passed Health Care Reform
    Passed Health Care Reform
    Passed Wall Street Reform
Negotiated a Deal to Block A Nuclear Iran
Secured U.S. Commitment to a Global Agreement on Climate Change
    Eliminated Osama bin Laden
Ended U.S. Combat Missions in Iraq and Afghanistan
Turned Around the U.S. Auto Industry
    Repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’’
Supported Federal Recognition of Same-Sex Marriages
    Reversed Bush Torture Policies
Established Rules to Limit Carbon Emissions from Power Plants
    Normalized Relations with Cuba
Put Medicare on Sounder Financial Footing
    Protected DREAMers from Deportation
    Established Net Neutrality
Protected Two Liberal Seats on the U.S. Supreme Court
    Boosted Fuel Efficiency Standards
Kicked Banks Out of Federal Student Loan Program, Expanded Pell Grant Funding
    Improved America’s Image Abroad
Left His Mark on the Federal Judiciary

And on and on and on. Yawn...

Remember because we are human, WE GET TO "BE" HUMAN.
My sports analogy does'nt mean we wont see right or wrong, good or bad, better or worse or winner and looser.
We are faced with making a choice between two things in this election as in much of life. a choice of one or the other.

For me ,being an anti war guy that always dreamed of the day we would stop these wars all over the world killing people we dont see . And now we have, and people dont seem to care , give it meaning, or any credit the President who did so. Amazing!! And well beyond this, there isnt even a choice here because I dont even know what better good is planned for us with Biden.

They only stood for 4 years on get rid of Trump. And sorry, Biden is unfit for office plain and simple. and in my mind thats why they chose him, to put on deck the VP as their real choice for President. Thats a bait and switch I dont think anyone should go for.
