Associated Press Initiated the trend by posting:

JOE BIDEN DEFEATS PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

The Associated Press declares Joe Biden the winner of a grueling campaign for the American presidency. He will lead a polarized nation through a historic collision of health, economic and social crises

    they went on to state:

    The Associated Press
    @AP
    ·

The #APracecall declaring Joe Biden’s win over President Trump came after
    @AP
called Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes for Biden. #Election2020

    AND:

"The victory for Biden, a former vice president who has spent nearly a half-century in public office, was also a repudiation of Trump, who has led the nation through a deeply divisive four years. #Election2020"

"At this time, Newsmax is not calling Joe Biden the winner.

The election remains very close and Pres. Trump continues to contest results in several states.

All votes should be counted. The media should not make the determination of the winner under these circumstances"

    **Updated Note**

This is a historic moment in time and i would like this thread to be a chronicle play by play of what happened once Biden was declared a winner

There will come a time when we will need to look back to figure out how we got to where we will end up

    May Liberty truly prevail!

STATEMENT FROM OUR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.

“Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots. This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election. It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters. Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the count room – and then fight in court to block their access.

“So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”

    VERY true ....
    here's an interesting tidbit

Supreme Court Rules State 'Faithless Elector' Laws Constitutional

"Thirty-two states have some sort of faithless elector law, but only 15 of those remove, penalize or simply cancel the votes of the errant electors. The 15 are Michigan, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Washington, California, New Mexico, South Carolina, Oklahoma and North Carolina. Although Maine has no such law, the secretary of state has said it has determined a faithless elector can be removed."

the article goes on to state:

"Although many Americans think that they elect the president and vice president, in fact, it is the Electoral College, an arcane intermediary mechanism dreamed up by the Founders, that formally determines who wins the election.

The system has been considered a formality because usually the winner of the popular vote also wins the Electoral College.

But twice in the past two decades, the unexpected took place: The winner of the popular vote did not become president; instead, the winner in the Electoral College prevailed. Trump, who got nearly 3 million fewer votes overall than Clinton, won the state-by-state allotment of Electoral College votes in 2016 and became president. And in 2000, George W. Bush became president, winning five more Electoral College votes than Al Gore, though Gore won roughly half a million more popular votes.

In total, the popular vote winners have failed to win the Electoral College vote on four occasions, the first two occurring during the 1800s."

Not a horror movie. An everything-at-stake thriller, more like Seven Days in May.

That was a 2 hour movie, long for its day in 1964. (And one of the best of all time, too.) The analogy here is that we're only about 5 minutes in. There are many twists and turns to come.

In sum, the people vote, but the majority of the popular vote from each state authorizes and directs the Electors from each state to cast their votes at the Electoral College on 12/14/2020 for the candidate who received the majority of the popular vote from each state. The USSC has held that the Electors shall vote for the candidate who received a majority of the popular vote. Not may vote that way, but shall vote that way.

Technically, by casting their vote at the Electoral College as authorized and directed by the majority popular vote from the Electors’ state, the Electors elect the POTUS.

Obviously, it is critical that the popular vote be legitimate and not the product of fraud.

Trump has every right to drill down on and vet the legitimacy of the popular vote. Any candidate does.

I just spoke to someone in Manhattan (New York City) and he said that people are banging on pots, cheering from their windows, screaming on the sidewalks. Another Facebook video shows some people rallying in the streets. I guess the COVID virus only makes Trump gatherings super spreader events.

    TRULY agree ~ 100%

    THIS IS IT

the moment that WILL DEFINE the destiny of our nation

and EVERYONE IS playing a part

    their actions
    their INactions
    voices
    SILENCE

    IS being noted

    and VOTE duly noted ...

make NO mistake about it ...

here is ONE response from Matt Gaetz

Matt Gaetz Calls for Full Election Audit and Threatens to Fight to ‘Stop the Electoral College from Being Certified’

Congressman Matt Gaetz actually threatened on Fox News Friday night that he would fight to “stop the electoral college from being certified” if it comes to that.

Sean Hannity — who has been repeatedly sowing doubt about the election and telling his viewers they would be right not to trust the results — brought on several Republicans to back up the Trump team’s legal battle.

Gaetz talked up the system in Florida before declaring that “every state legislature seeing these irregularities should demand an audit, and they should not be willing to certify electors to the electoral college until those audits have been completed.”

“If we allow ballots to be counted without the transparency and observation that the law requires, Republicans will never win another election ever again. That is what’s at stake,” Gaetz cnntinued.

He attacked Republicans “who are ready to throw in the towel now” and said every single one of them needs to fight for the president on this.

As the segment wrapped, Gaetz made a point of actually saying this:

“A full audit is absolutely necessary, we should get injunctions if necessary. And if I have to do it, I’ll fight on the floor of the House of Representatives to stop the electoral college from being certified. We only need one senator to join to ensure that that challenge will then be subject to a full vote of the Congress and the Senate.”

One of the comments under Dr Steve Turley’s latest update:

Today we witnessed Bidens premature electulation!”

Turley goes on to explain the mockingbird media were forced to announce a Biden victory today to get ahead of the voting machine “glitches” being exposed and the Supreme Court Order against PA. He explains how Act 77 is going to eviscerate any lead team Biden thought they had that came in after 8pm on election night. Lots of skullduggery to be revealed as Trump builds a case for the courts.

The election cannot be trusted: plain fact. In a truly just society this would be invalidated and re-run minus mail-in balltots (minus absent votes)

They are rushing to usher Biden in, the system has engineered this outcome, invalid election!

Hi there, stepping in with mod hat on with a reminder to keep to civil discourse whatever your political persuasion. Keep in mind these are times of much stress and anxiety for many folks, please discuss these with courtesy and care towards one another

I have never been happier now that the lying con man that is drumpf will be removed from office. I have never had to experience such a vile man “leading” the United States. Nothing any of you can say will ever convince me that drumpf ever did anything positive for this country other than screw it over and do everything in his power to enrich himself at the cost of this country. That so many of you think he is somehow secretly fighting against the powers that be or that he cares for any individual other than himself is shocking to me. And don’t try and argue but Hillary, or what about Biden’s crimes, I am not talking about them, I wouldn’t vote for them, but I am only talking about the vile man that is Trump, his actions, his words, his lying, his cheating, his racism and his vile rapey treatment of women. I pray for his constant humiliation for the rest of his pathetic life.
    to be CLEAR

There is a difference between Biden being DECLARED a winner

    and (F)ACTUALLY BEING ONE

the Constitution and its laws have yet to be suspended

EVERY state MUST ratify results ~ this has NOT happened

States must indicate which slate of of electors will vote ~ this has NOT happened

then the electoral college will vote on December 14 ~ We are STILL in November

the EARLIEST that the Presidential race can be called IS Dec 14 ~ We are STILL in November

there was a reason that the "News" was called "Fake News"

that reason is that we USED to have a law that protected American Citizens against "propaganda" (LYING)
    it was the Smith-Mundt Act.
unfortunately, the LAST Democratic President we had, Obama repealed it

i'm afraid that your cause for joy has NO BASIS in FACT

    and with any luck?

    may NEVER come

Judge Jeannine Pirro ALSO responded and Fox Reacted by Suspending her show

    NEWSMAX reports that her show:

"was suspended tonight and did not air over at Fox News channel. Sources tell us (NEWSMAX) that was because she made a very staunch defense of President Trump and wanted to expose, attempt to expose the voter fraud that the Republicans the President are claiming took place inside the election. Fox decided NOT to air Judge Jeannine Pirro show because that is what would have been the content of the show."

if anyone would like to express comments TO FOX they can do so at this number:

It's unlikely that Joe Biden will have moved away from this stance in the last dozen years isn't it. You can infer what you will from the body language being exhibited here, but, this could serve as a timely reminder of what the world is likely to be facing should any legal challenge from Donald Trump not be upheld by the USSC.

    @AP
    ·
    2h
The #APracecall declaring Joe Biden’s win over President Trump came after
    @AP
called Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes for Biden. #Election2020

    AND:

"The victory for Biden, a former vice president who has spent nearly a half-century in public office, was also a repudiation of Trump, who has led the nation through a deeply divisive four years. #Election2020"

    Newsmax stood alone:

    Attachment 44990

"At this time, Newsmax is not calling Joe Biden the winner.

The election remains very close and Pres. Trump continues to contest results in several states.

All votes should be counted. The media should not make the determination of the winner under these circumstances"

(will try to edit to add pics)
But is newsmax a 'mainstream' outlet? I'm not American and looked it up and it is usually 'framed' as a conservative opinion website. This would put it just into the Breitbart/Infowars category? (Just asking, not sure).

Yes, many thanks. I've deleted 4 posts. There's a LOT to discuss, for sure (and this is why we're here!), but we do have to be civil.

These are the first posts we've deleted since the election — so we're actually doing well. That's meant sincerely, with no sarcasm. Kudos to everyone.

Remember, if you're feeling super-irritated by someone else's expressed viewpoint and/or emotion, you can always ignore them. See my post here on this thread, How to "ignore" another member:

Quote Posted by Bill Ryan (here)

I'm drawing attention again to this thread because at a time when many people's emotions may be running a little high, some members are sure to be posting some things that may irk others.

The common factor is that many people are feeling a need to express themselves — whatever it is that they want to express. And that's 100% fine. It has to be.

So to avoid being irked by someone, it may well be easiest, kindest, and leave less mud on the walls NOT to get into firefights with anyone whose posts feel upsetting — but simply to ignore them.

This thread explains how to do that, and it's very very simple. The irksome people, whoever they may be for you, will just [almost!] vanish. Not from everyone else's view... but just from yours.
