This is such lovely music. It is really interesting to look up the history of these instruments. They are names in the show notes on YouTube.

An utterly shameless cross-post, because this has to be heard:

Thought this was well worth putting here, re Karen Carpenter, who so many have said was a once in a lifetime talent. Well, about a lifetime has gone by since her premature passing, and now another Karen Carpenter has appeared.

Never in my life have I heard, or even imagined, another voice so close to hers. But Tori Holub is the real deal, and some are calling her the reincarnation of Karen Carpenter.

If you're a fan of Karen Carpenter's, or an admirer of her voice, you might well be amazed by this collaboration. This is not the original recording, but a unique production -- every instrument, every voice. No pitch-correction is used here, no auto-tune.
    ****
Fasten your seatbelts. Here's my new friend Tori Holub singing The Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" with me on backing vocals, pianos, clarinet and percussion. I also handled audio mixing and video editing. Joining us are my great Bandhub friends Gary Badger on trumpets and flugelhorns, Ynping Mak on violins, Yoann Palacio on drums and Clayton Whisenant on bass. When I first heard Tori sing, I knew that this recording would have to happen. So, here it is, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it all together! - Jim

I have been in the music business for over 50 years and I never thought anyone could match the incredible vocal talent of Karen Carpenter…until I heard this. I will say this is the without a doubt the best vocal performance of this song I have ever heard. I closed my eyes and swore I was listening to Karen herself. Also I am thrilled to see young people such as yourself showing their appreciation for the great music of my generation. You are truly an extremely gifted young lady and wish you success in all your musical endeavors.

Seems to me like they want us to be afraid, man
Or maybe we just like being afraid
Maybe we just so used to it at this point that it's just a part of us
    Part of our culture
    Security alert on orange
    It's been on orange since '01 G,
    I mean what's up man
Can't a brother get yellow man
Just for like two months or something
    God damn
    Sick o' that

    Mic check

The groove is dead so I'm a rhyme like a lunatic
I do this **** with an unassuming wit
The corporation conjured up the bass and the tempo
My name is Liff, that's the intro, now let's go

The flow of life throwing strife into the mix
The big dark condition and the word is sick
    The powers that be
    A power in me
    To speak a cause
Stress and strife that I see every day
    And more to speak upon
    Culture of fear
    It's up in your ear
They're telling us terrorists about to strike
    May be tonight
    Right
Let me just back up slowly
With critical analysis of those who control me
It used to be we just had a screen in the crib
    On the TV
But now we carry screens when we leave see
Laptops smart phones now we're never alone
A new affliction I call it media dome
But on the road famine is the programming
You want to watch a favorite show because it's so slamming
Hold hands and let's gaze into the beautiful glare
While we're here so immersed in this culture of fear

We fear the IRS, fear the INS
    Fear God
I'm more afraid of the planet than the terror squad

    Weapons overseas
Mastercard and visa want to buy me the greed
    They deceive
The enemy is in the fine print
    They assassinate sally
With no sense of the selling

    Represent an element ahead
A sentiment that you feel on the road for real
The deal starts with a spark concludes with a hand shake
Physical to alter the subliminal landscape
Relief thinking I can really trust that guy
To be honest could have should have really punched that guy
Now it's operation shank a banker
    Thank you for the loan
See you when you come to repossess my home
Alone at night sweating with visions of Armageddon
    I never seen the threat
    Yet I feel threatened
Parts of our society designed to smear
Freedom don't succumb to this culture of fear
    Fear fear fear
Don't succumb to this culture of fear
    Fear fear fear
Don't succumb to this culture of fear

Ok, Alekahn2, you have me intrigued. Not only are your music selections amazing but the artistic quality of the videos are amazing. Somehow I can't quit thinking how interesting it would be if you lived down the road. Thanks again, kiddo....great and amazing finds.
