Good idea Celine. When I posted my profile information, it was immediately after I signed up. Naturally, when you sign up you are excited and want to get to reading the plethora of material on this forum. As a result, my mindset was, "Ugh, well I'll just type in a few things about me and move on." You can still get the gist of what's up with me, but it's not very in depth.

I'll get to it later tonight. I'm kinda busy right now, just stopping in to see what my fellow Avalonian are up too.
Today is victory over yourself of yesterday. Tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

I will share my thoughts here, recognizing that nobody has asked for them.

And I think that what is and is not acceptable for Avalon IS an appropriate topic based on what I have seen here, though possibly (most likely) the wrong thread. Still, I inject this consciously and for the highest good.

Adherence to guidelines set forth by Bill and the mod team makes this site neither sex positive nor sex negative. There are many concerns including what can make Avalon vulnerable to negative action from the outside. The wise man does not load his enemy's gun. There are also often concerns that the general community might be unaware of.

I think a seperate website for the discussion of these topics is a great idea and if someone made one, I would sign up to participate and learn. Although some of us might feel one way or another regarding what is appropriate for children, we still swim within a larger ocean and must take that into consideration. As a community specialist, I will also remind everyone that when joining a community, we sometimes have to sacrifice the dissemination of our own wise beliefs in favor of the standards agreed upon by the community as a whole.

    Thank you for your indulgence

I like looking at peoples profiles, but for some reason want to keep my own info to myself... its a wierd contradiction. I aim to change my profile to contain the kind of info I like to see in others' profiles... sounds a bit confusing when put into words...

As a parent of 3, I have a particularly vested interest in write4change's comments.

I have stated publically and privately how much I respect her as an individual. As much as one can, through a digital communication, I trust her.

That being said, I would not want my children reading about sex at the age of 9 or younger. There are many topics discussed here that I wouldnt want my kids reading. As a parent, it is my responsibiliy to protect them from such content, and introduce it at what I perceive as the appropriate time.

This is a wonderfull forum, but ALL of the content is mature imho. Why are 9 year olds permitted to see any of it? I understand the intent, but the risks are too great.

I have two children here as members..

They are both over 18... so my issues are not the same but...

There is so much out there... outside Avalon... that is so much worse...

I dont kow any 9 year old that would read a conversation with interest about tantric sex...

But i do know that if more young people had a healthy beginning to their sex education... the end results would affect the entire society..

i dont say i have answers..but i do still have lots of questions

I agree that sex, sexuality, nudity, and many areas of self awareness are an important lesson for young children. My wife and I try to bring our kids up being proud of themselves - their whole selves. We let them run around naked before bath time, and its a really fun time for them. We teach them not to be embarrassed of what and who they are.

That being said, I take responsibility for the result of my method of teaching my kids. Im constantly trying to think of how to be a better steward of the eternal souls ive been entrusted with. I make mistakes - whoa boy do I make some whoppers - but I am accountable for that. I own that, and at the end of my days - Ill be the one who will face judgement for the decisions ive made (regardless of who you believe is that judge (God, my higher self, the eternal soul council, w/e)).

My concern is the teaching of those concepts by strangers on the internet, regardless of how well intentioned, or more qualified. If someone else is going to teach my kids these lessons, I want the right of first refusal.

Sorry for derailing this thread. Ill stop commenting off topic.

Also - profiles are good, mmk.

I'm just a junior mod myself, and can only see a little more than you can. In my view, it is important to inform people of any such actions. But all I can do is suggest you PM the Admins (Beth; Fredkc; Luke; Richard) or Mods (Dale; Hiram; illuminate; Shane; Ross). I just listed here the admins/mods whom I suspect might have been active on this thread recently.

a note would have been much appreciated. My post contained nothing that would offend anyone nor was it disrespectful to this forum.

With all the new members.. and new directions we are headed to...

I suggest we beef up our profile pages and be descriptive in our Bios.

this can help all to get to know one another and be used as references if some are looking for help from other s in specific fields.

I know this is something Bill has suggested before ....and I believe it is time to suggest it again

It would be great to read more about each one of you.

no thank you..why would one want to do that?

we post a lot - anyone intereseted can find ot a lot that way...

not applying for a job...no...i don't support that initiative, sorry.. l

    Its not a job application...geez...

They already know all there is to know about you...but we dont.

    Much agree on all counts.

From day "zero" we are taught to fear each other. Expect only to be hurt.

Every single one of us- every single person from "first world", everyone that touched "internet", have bank account, driver license, passport- whatever, even medical exam, have a "tome" on him on government-corporate servers (and who knows elsewhere).

Every single one of us here has his "virtual counterpart" that is profiled for inducing specific reactions.
There is no such thing as privacy - for them.

Only thing we have any choice upon is what we share with each other, in order to understand/bond with each other.

It cannot and will not be forced.

But given our un-friends know nearly everything about us, including behaviour profiles.. best way to diminish their impact is to break some walls erected in our minds, between ourselves.

Every single one of us has skeletons in his closet. I know I have many things I am ashamed of (including suicide attempt).
Now, only think I DO NOT want is to pose as martyr of sorts. I did stupid sh*t in my life, but I got over it. Done is done.
What I am going to do from NOW to next NOW counts.

The less "guesses" you all have about me, the less opportunity for "Rulers" to induce fatal failures in communication between us.
Not to mention that this is opportunity to clear some mental blocks and let energy flow.

Again, this is my personal opinion. This is how things look from my own perspective. I do factor in possibility that I could be completely wrong.
I also understand that in some type of work, like in corporations - all the info you post here would be analyzed by "headhunters" , just as your "facebook" is.
Those guys do not have access to govt-corp databases, and this is the part when being loose with your data can be damaging. I do not work for them nor intend to- so I cannot care less. But I understand that there are some of you who do. That is understood.

First rule of survival is that you never, ever commit to an act that will damage your well-being IF NOTHING HAPPENS.

So it is up to you what you disclose or not, just as it is your choice to decide what to do with your life.
But please try to see the big picture too.

I love talking about myself. I quite like holding court and stunning people with my anecdotes. However, I hold court in the company of my choosing.

I’ve no objections to those that want to face book em selves in here its just that there are certain people, let alone anonymous strangers, that I wouldn't want being privy to details.

Knock yourself out. I'm staying conscious.
