Default iran announce flying saucer creation

Now I find this extremely funny,I mean odd .
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...s-B-movie.html

And I find it funny for these reasons

'Iran, which prides itself on its 2,500 year-old civilisation, is also keen to show that it is at the cutting edge of modern science.
Tehran insists it will be able to send a man into space in nine years' time'

ahem.....did not some country claim earlier last century to have sent multiple people and craft into space,in fact did they not claim that they landed on the moon??????????????????????????

If I am reading this article and words wrongly can someone on here please correct me,thank you.

I think it's meant to be funny. The Daily Mail are taking the mickey, hence the statement "cutting edge of modern science". That things way better than a big fat rocket tho.. (if it's real) I wonder what propulsion system it uses? The Mail, an ugly, right wing, breeder of ignorance of the masses in the UK, wants to portray the Iranian leader as a backward, over ambitious, loser who is way behind and utterly ridiculous.

i like your interpretation very much bodixa

I wonder if we will see them in action after the un decides to invade lybia tonight, after all its only a hop skip and a jump into iran .
that would be immense viewing, and then maybe the western world could unleash theirs and wow,its a live sci fi epic.

just as a wee aside, bodixa,I have been watching some sci fi with my two young boys,(seven years old) and tonights was 'mars attacks'
Well just before we watched it someone sent me a link to an announcement by stephen hawking in regard to alien invaders and how they would be like columbus discovering america and how the consequences would be the same.
So I tried to relate this to my boys who are smart cookies..they asked me to explain stephen hawking and when i did they just looked at me as if i was mad,and they looked at the film screen and back at me and laughed.....a lovely moment.

I deal with it in a similar way with my 2 - like it's no big deal. We don't dwell on it, but there's no fear attached. We work from the assumption that it is inevitable that there is life across space's vast ocean.. but we just ain't met them yet.

I think it's inevitable that Gadaffi will do whatever he likes regardless of the No Fly, and the UN know that full well. I doubt Iran will get involved tho...

What if Iran made that announcement knowing full well that no media outlet will believe it? What if they had help from unlikely or, rather, unknown sources, building something like that? I find it interesting that this announcement is made around the same time when 3 Canadians and Clinton make announcements that they will step down from politics. I think the next few weeks will prove to be very interesting...

    Hi Trojan

Wow! They sure did! That man is no dummy when it comes to international politics - they may have some strange notions of human rights, but if you hear him talk about the Israel/Palestine issue, he is no idiot.

Perfect opportunity for other countries to pop up and say 'hey we have one of those too, but ours are better!'

Also a perfect opportunity to let a few more ships loose knowing people might say 'oh that must be one of Iran's funny reconaissance flying saucers'.

He's a funny character - hard to like - but he points out how ludicrous the Israel situation is. In a BBC interview I am trying to find, he said more clearly that the holocaust happened in Europe - was committed by Europeans against other Europeans - so what did that have to do with hundreds of thousands of palestinians - he argues that the holocaust was not a justification for the persecution of the Palestinians. He's right of course, even though a little 'slimy'. I've worked with a lot of Iranian refugees, so I do have a sense that things are not great out there, but the west wants to portray him as a nut, because they know he is right on many issues.

    Hi Bodixa,

Not wanting to go off topic too much, but the comment of the no fly zone deserved a reply. The vote was 10 - 0 with 5 abstentions. What cowardice! The five abstentions were made because the representatives didn't have the b*lls to say "No!". They merely turned their backs to the problem and buried their heads in the sand as an ostrich would do, hoping the problem would go away. How sad, how very, very sad when a THIRD of the UN council turns yellow. That's justice for you.

As for Iran and it's flying saucer, that's possible. Other underdeveloped countries have done space flight, India, Pakistan, China, even Brazil had an astronaut go up there, although it was on a US powered flight. I think that space flight technology is becoming more widespread (except for France which took so much time to get it right with the Ariane rocket (probably based on the Citröen 2CV). C'est la vie!).

    Best regards,

    Steve

Your are right, Mr Steve, bunch of yellow bellies indeed.

I guess abstention is a way of not saying no, without being seen to say yes.

I really want a ride in that saucer tho, don't you?

What I always do, is see who the so called mainstream media is talking crap about today, then go find out more about them.
They usually tell you where to look.
