Sorry, but I believe you are sorely deceived. France, in my opinion, want back into North Africa and a share of the oil spoils. Plenty of US/UK/European backed regimes slaughter their own people without a murmur - what is different about Libya?

That maybe their ultimate motivation; however, functionally it still mean that the anti-Q forces are finally getting a measure of of respite. And should France profit from supporting the rebels, so be it! No one else was brave enough to announce support for them by recognizing the alternate government. That's a large claim, and there is a long way to go before I think that can be made. A sense of certainty about such a hugely negative predetermined outcome is not productive IMO.
