Default "Talking About Disaster" - e-book

Hi just thought you might like to be aware of this publication from the National Disaster Education Coalition, based in Washington and thus particularly applicable to US situations.

It first came out in 2002 and the latest version is dated August 2004. Its main value is that it contains comprehensive advice for preparing for nearly all kinds of disasters, natural and man-made, and also has lots of handy addresses and phone numbers for whom to contact. Topics covered include:

    Chemical Emergencies at Home
    Disaster Supplies Kit
    Drought
    Earthquakes
    Evacuation and Sheltering,
    and Post-disaster Safety
    Family Disaster Plan
    Fires, Residential
    Fires, Wildland
    Floods and Flash Floods
    Hazardous Materials Incidents
    Heat (Heat Wave)
    Hurricanes and Tropical Storms
    Landslides
    Nuclear Power Plant Incidents
    Terrorism
    Thunderstorms, Severe
    Tornadoes
    Tsunamis
    Volcanoes
    Winter Storms

Download the book (3 Mb) here.
