Default Florida Cuts Unemployment Benefits To Pay For Corporate Tax Cut

In the last few months, conservatives in several states have moved to limit unemployment benefits, even with the national unemployment rate at 9 percent and more than 40 percent of the unemployed having been out of work for six months or more. Conservative lawmakers in Utah falsely claimed that cutting jobless benefits would be “motivation for people to get back to work,” while Michigan gutted its unemployment insurance system despite having one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.

Florida Republicans this weekend also succeeded in reducing their state’s unemployment benefits, sending a bill to Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) for his signature:

A bill that would establish some of the deepest and most far-reaching cuts in unemployment benefits in the nation is heading for the desk of Gov. Rick Scott…The legislation would cut maximum state benefits to 23 weeks from 26 when the jobless rate is 10.5 percent or higher. If lower, the maximum would decline on a sliding scale until bottoming at 12 weeks if the jobless rate was 5 percent or less.

As the National Employment Law Project pointed out, with this bill, Florida will “go further than any other state in dismantling its unemployment insurance system.” The Republican sponsor of the bill, state Sen. Nancy Detert (R), relied on the same false assumption as the lawmakers in Utah, saying that cutting benefits “encourages people to get back into the job market.” Research by the San Francisco Federal Reserve has found that workers who qualify for unemployment benefits stay unemployed just 1.6 weeks longer than those who do not qualify for such benefits.

I'm convinced that certain states in this country are run by people who should be locked up in insanity asylums.

They are willingly creating conditions that will squeeze the poor and unemployed even more. Their goal is to create a massive uprising so they can justify the expense of their FEMA camps, underwater coffins and stockpiles of food.

We can put a stop to this unnecessary fearmongering. Let's put our thinking caps on, people!

Your observations are correct and so is what you want to do about it.
We need to find a way to say no to them.
If enough people say no, the system falls.

When those folks are finally locked up in psychiatric hospitals, they can at least put these to use:

Florida Agency Tries to Fight Unemployment With $14,000 in Superhero Capes

"A Florida unemployment agency is under fire after spending taxpayer money on 6,000 capes for the jobless, as part of its "Cape-A-Bility Challenge."
    This is a real story.
As first reported in the Orlando Sentinel, the campaign was set to spend $14,200 on capes and $2,300 on foam cutouts of "Dr. Evil Unemployment."
The campaign, revealed Saturday in a report in the Orlando Sentinel, was met with derision by many unemployed who questioned spending more than $14,200 on capes and $2,300 on foam cutouts of "Dr. Evil Unemployment." They said the campaign's tone risked minimizing the severity of the region's labor problems."

Stigmatizing the unemployed as evil. good one. telling them to get a job? Where are these jobs? Many/most public servants are no more than glorified unemployed themselves as although we need nurses and teacher etc... they do not actually 'produce' anything as does say a farmer or a manufacturer. They exist only due to the taxation of others. There are many that deserve jobs paid for by the city/govt. The ones that look after the sewers for a start. there are many others. The ones that spend ALL their day in an office are questionable.

Only last week a friend of mine had her benefit cut by $31 only to have some market research person , a private contractor to whom her phone number was given by 'them' as in, contracted by the same dept, ring her up and ask how the demeanour of the person she saw at the unemployment office was. They were carefully selected questions which she had to rate 1-5.
Of course this survey will result in them 'proving' they are all doing a great job.

That is what you call taking from the poor and giving to the rich- literally. The telemarketing girl won't be paid much but her boss that has the contract that hired her will be.

I honestly believe now that a few assasinations of key political figures in many countries around the world is the only thing that will 'send a message' to them. It is a dreadful thing to say,and sad that it is however the only language 'they' understand, because they sure as eggs do not understand plain english and mandates, will of the people and all that.

Of course they would get body guards etc... but in the end they would take Gorden Novells advice and 'not make them want to kill you in the first place. It saddens me too that this is the reality of it all. I too wish there was another way and common sense would prevail. But these people do not think like you and I. They have never tasted poor or how will I pay the rent this week. Greed and looking after their own is all they know. They live in constant fear as they never really know who is 'their own'.

We would need to unite. It has been done many times before. Of course it would have to be held privately as we would get labelled a 'hate group' straight away and be charged with 'unlawful assembly' if a meeting was held in a public place.
I'll leave it at that as this is a HUGE subject and I tend not to read the really long posts myself, unless it has after 20 secs inspired me to read on.

The system destroys the jobs, then penalises you for not having one.
    More divide and conquer.

In this century, no one should have to pay to live on land or own a house. Electricity can be provided by solar technology.

Then the issue of food and water is of course the other structure that needs real attention.

It has to start at the bottom with these issues. The economics and policy angle cannot address sustainable living.

But of course the issue is how to start implementing this change without disruption. Cant happen. The upper and middle class enjoy paying taxes and other things that provide. Which is to be understood but unfortunately when you have a paradigm shift the ones who feel it the most are the ones who were successful in the old one.

Oliver Stone put some good lines in his recent Wall street movie.

"It's not about the money. It's about the game between people."

“What is the definition of insanity? It’s when you do something wrong repeatedly and expect a different result.”
(A testament to Albert Einstein's quote)

We need do "NOTHING". It costs no money and no energy. Simply put; do not renew your drivers license, do not renew any licenses, do not register any child in any state as they are not cattle. Do not pay taxes, do not send our children to school, do not vaccinate, close all bank accounts, stop paying for insurance if your property is paid off, stop paying credit card bills.

We need to get out of the mind set of asking for anything from our government as history has shown us they only serve to take, not give. Once we begin to disassociate from them, they will collapse. We keep them in power by "co-operating" with them from the begining. They need our "co-operation" to screw us. Why do you think the cops now threaten you if you dont "co-operate" with them? Because they need it to screw you. Without your ID, who will they make the ticket out too? Without a name, date of birth or ID they don't know who you are and how to screw you. We need to send them back all of thier crap and let them know they no longer have our consent to govern, period! But we must do so on a massive scale. Say about 10% of the people. This would send a massive shockwave and clear message.

I ask you all, how much will this cost us to do and how much of your time and energy will this take? Ans. Nothing! So for those who would have you believe this needs to be a violent revolution, here's the non-violent solution. Learned from Ghandi.

We can rationalize all we want about how this won't work but for those doubters I have only Eric Holder to qoute: "America is a NATION OF COWARDS".

Just say no to stop the madness.
How much more will it take for the masses to do this?

Unfortunately Lord Sidious, it would appear we need a pearl harbor type event as a catalyst. Sound familiar? I know 10% non-compliance would be a great start.
