Outstanding storm picture, the beauty of lightning.

Hello. I wanted to share this picture with everyone here. This picture has been taken two days ago by a friend of mine in EU/RO.

It was a storm with much electrical discharge, the lightning struk a metal bar on the roof of the bloc. My friend was being able to capture the lightning using a cannon camera with an addon firmware that has allowed him to extend the exposure time up to 17 min.

[HORIZONS]

I was storm watching last night and had a close encounter with a bolt of lightning. I was on my upstairs deck when it hit right in front of me just a few yards away - I saw this bright light bolt, heard this sound like "zit" and then BOOM, all within an second of time. It knocked me back a few steps. That is as close as I want to get. The after image lingered for several minuets where I could then see the actual shape of the bolt. Electrifying for sure.
