It probably doesn't help right now, but your familiar is now in a place that is so, so much happier than here, even though s/he was very fortunate to be with you during this lifetime. But it hurts to be the one left behind. It will hurt tomorrow, and the day after, and next week, but eventually, the pain will fade and the happy memories will gain the upper hand. :ffers more hugs::

When i was losing my dog, i was a real mess.
But when i eventually had her put down i felt her spirit enter my heart.
It was so strong and so profound.
That seriously changed my whole view on spirituality, that i had been resisting until then.

Your dog is still very much with you, Corson , be comforted by this.

I have a few siamese cats waiting for me and I can't wait to say hello to them again.
I loved them so much on this side, I know they took that with them.

I feel feel for you. My pup died two years back in a way... that even the vets were beyond their limits to handle.

Sometime she visits... and we go out and play.. really, really hard. She lived life like a cross between a shotgun and a flamethrower.

It's one of the hardest things to go through, but L.S is right, besides, now you have a spiritual guard dog looking out for you. Read my last thread if you wish, my girlfriends dog died last week and we were both hurting, P.A gave us a lot of help in dealing with it. I wish you support and healing. Loving energy is currently being sent your way.

Cookies does not want to see you sad, he is in a nice place and wants to see you strong, send your love to him while listening to your breath feel him happy and connect with that feeling.

Man, that is tough. I know how that goes, there is no logic or reasoning that can help or magic away this emotional pain.

Something you loved is taken away - there is no way this is ever going to be easy.

When it happened to us I took the day off and we walked among trees and gardens until our feet were sore. Tree's do help. Tears help.

In the mean time, I think the energy you will find coming your way from those of us who have read about and considered your plight, should help a bit.

Man's best firend is sooo right on for dogs. I am so sorry for your loss... can totally relate. Lots of love to you.

Your grief is a continuance of your love for cookies, honour it as such.
Your heart may feel broken, but notice that you are still feeling love even through the tears.
Visit cookies, astrally or however is appropriate and see how he/she is feeling and ask how she is seeing your grief.

Hi corson,

I am extremely saddened to here the news of cookies passing...

I remember when my Red Healer 'Cattle Dog' Ringer died on the 27 December, 2009, he was the most loyal and loving member of the family and loved by all...

I am a grown man and I cried like a baby every time I thought about Ringer for days...and the pain of losing a loved one never really goes away it only gets easier through time...

I buried him in the backyard, and ever day and night would go out and talk to him and thank the universe for bringing him into our family...

One night just before going to bed about a week later after his passing I was looking at a photo of him when he was a puppy and asked the question: Please let me know your Ok Ringer - 'I kid you not' corson, deep in my inner left ear, I heard him barking and sensed he was running around in a lush green paddock free of the pain and suffering he endured prior to his passing!

corson, there is nothing wrong with allowing yourself to mourn for cookies as long as it takes, and remember the Love and Joy cookies brought into your life...

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I too lost my best mate recently (the furry kind), so I appreciate how you must be feeling right now... you must stay strong friend!

I am not one who is adept at finding the right words to say at a moment like this, so I will simply post the following poem which was sent to me by a friend after I lost my own dog...

I give you this one thought to keep - I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
