Default Remarkable ring in the sky of Azerbeidzjan

High above the city of Bakoe on the 6th of may 2010 a remarkable cloud ring was seen.
The ring shaped object became visible in the evening around 8.30pm, it stayed visible for a couple of hours and came to an end at about 2 to 3 hours. At that time the ring totally dissapeared.

In that same direction, near the north border of Azerbeidzjan, on the 8th of may 2010 around 10 pm near the vicinity a similar ring was observed and this one stayed for about 20 minutes in the sky.

    wow.. that sure is strange!
To see a world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower.
Hold invinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in a hour.

When the doors of perception are cleansed, man will see things as they truly are, infinite.

I saw one of these last year in october I think, but it was reversed, as though the cloud it had been in was hollowed out, leaving the ring space in the cloud.

    I wonder what it means?

This is almost certainly a volcanic smoke ring, I think I read somewhere that they are a mixture of smoke and steam and usually leave a slight tail as they rise as can be seen in the picture. There is a volcano in the mountains of northern Azerbaijan which might be responsible but whatever it is, it is an amazing sight. But what is even more amazing is that in these times of 24/7 TV and the internet, nature can still dazzle us with it's awesome displays.

It depends whether there is a volcano in the vicinity!

Heh, the picture in OP's post is *exactly* the same ring as seen in the posted vid by Lucid Jia @ 1:01 into the clip. The clip was put on youtube in July 2007.

So the question then, was the picture meant to be an illustration or actual footage of the reported cloud formation?

Visiting the source kinda made no sense to me...
People always tell me I remind them so much of Sid (the wierd furry guy from Ice Age, you know), is that a good thing?
