Just had to say: That is just not true at all.

Who was it said, "there are two educations a man receives. one is given to him - the other he gives himself." ? I can't remember and am disinclined to look it up. But it's definitely true.

ENFJ - as always! As I am apparently such a people person, apparently this makes me a 'skillful lover'. Well that was my fave bit, LOL.
The funny thing is, I am not quite as sociable with the 'world' as the test would make me seem. Perhaps that is because I my passion is my spiritual connection - now I am very sociable in that sense.

True. But just because you and I are INFJ's we must respect that others do not see our point of view.
Yes, it seems hard to believe but these test are very important to other people.
The tests can be an important sense of 'guidance' or 'inspiration' to other people.
We may not 'understand it' but we have to encourage other people to try and achieve their potential.
Ok. Sounds 'sooky', but, we have to remember not to 'judge' other people by our own 'perceived standards'.
Everyone on this Earth deserves the best chance they can get.
People aren't 'Stupid'. We just make 'Stupid Decisions' (Myself included).
We can only know and act on what we are 'taught'. (Which is F/A at school).
None of us are 'Special'. Soon as we think that then we are 'self-delusional'.
We are all 'Spiritual Beings' experiencing a 'Human Experience'.
    Sorry if I sound 'Patronising'.
Of course I respect that you may have a differing viewpoint. I'm just asking you why you perceive something to be so. Is there something legitimate or is it that your own personal perceptions are responsible for manufacturing something that isn't really there?
Because it's our mistaken perceptions which can make us react where no reaction is required. And I'm not saying this to be patronising either. I just think it's an interesting topic and one that people don't take the time to investigate. They just come from their own perceptions without really examining if they're legitimate or not. And so we do or say seemingly stoopid things.

As such - how can we possibly aid others to reach their potential, when we have yet to reach or even grasp our own?
And people really ought not rely on any test or psychological evaluation to gain strength. That only boosters ego identification - deliberately encouraging that is only encouraging false security built on nothing at all.

I don't comment because I consider how it may affect another. I comment because I feel inspired to comment - without any other agenda. That's really the only way I can be sure to not do damage, because ego cannot discern and make that judgment.
In the words of Shakepeare, "To thine ownself be true, and it must follow as the night the day, thou shalt not then be false to any man."

You don't sound patronising (at least I don't think you do.) And I don't think I do either - only with you it's hard to tell. OK - that was tongue in cheek. I couldn't resist.
I tried to send you PM.
If you didn't get it then send me some please.
I think we are getting 'off topic' for this tread.

A poll has to be set up at the time of posting. I have requested mods to set one up, if it is possible. There should be a way, though.
    Are you an ESTP, Kt?
    I'm an ENFP.

I could work out the numbers after things stop flowing, and I would post them for all to see, unless someone else would like to do it.

    Aahhhh,yes, right, I see.
Well, I've done some checking and it seems you are acting according to your typography of 'Inspiring' a mod to make up a poll. Good job. Thoroughly acceptable.

I sure hope the mod you inspired is an ESTP.

hmmm idont think infj's are as rare as people are making they out to be we already have 4 in here lol,its says infj males are the rarest,i will say this tho after having a more in depth look at this stuff i started to realize and understand a lot of things better now it all makes sense to me and i am going to be honest being infj kinda of sucks tho,i understand why i havent been able to find a suitable partner as of yet now heh, this stuff is very interesting tho lots of food for thought for sure!!
I am also INFJ. Either this site draws them of I have to agree with Arpheus, we can't be that rare.

Back again - and I think I ought to clarify something.

When I say that I don't think people ought to take these tests too seriously I'm not saying that I think these tests give an incorrect account, but seriously in that people consider that one thing is better than another thing.

where did it say that INFJ was one percent? i looked around and read the description but i must have missed it. does it have the percentages of the other personality types?

    EDIT

if it was done 5 years ago have they updated the percentages recently? Im not saying its not accurate but maybe the shift thats happening have changed people to INFJs so thats why so many are appearing here and more and more are becoming INFJs and its no longer 1% of the population. maybe? just my speculation.

Good Post.I will copy my results from the "Introverted Personalities and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator" Thread, this is what I wrote there about two weeks ago:

"What an interesting subject !I think it worth to bring it back alive for the sake of all the introverts between us (just for the record,I think extraverts desreve the same kind of thread!).

I have taken the meyers-Brigg / jung test yesterday and reaffirmed to myself that my personality (would love to be able to submit some new requests for the next time...) very much match the clasic INFJ.I also listned to some other INFJ's on you tube, and found bits and pieces of myself in each and every one of them.our introvertness dictates our life,it is felt like a limit sometimes but it has some well of good in it - a deep inner world that can easily compare with that of the outer one (as Bill nicknamed it in this thread - our privet 'universe') and the gift of intuition.

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=VZPtL...eature=related
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=4Cnxu...eature=related
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=Dd9zI...eature=related

If you haven't already done the test,it is much recommended.not that you dont know yourself,oh no,you do,we are here on Avalon, the home and the friendly environment for questioning and aware people, surely we are aware about ourselves..but its just feel utterly nice to know that there are others like us.

The next questionnaire : what type of ET are you? can someone start to work on this one... "

    P.S

Apparently Bill used to run seminars on the Mayers-Brigg test personalities.
If you are curious to know what Bill's type is go and search for it on the other thread (link above) it will be there

im XXXX and proud of it!

and will NEVER be one of the "others" classification. And even if i read personalities to see what they blabbering about .. never took quiz
I'd even go that far and suggest to as many ppl as possible ... do not describe yourself in ways like this, this is not here to help "you" understand..

    Thank You

Do a google search and you will see that supposedly INFJ is the rarest if your male its even more rare, supposedly only one per cent of the population is INFJ,maybe we get drawn to places like avalon who knows, but we got lots of them here for sure heh.
