Default The Farrell Remedy: Asthma, Earth Shoes and N-A-C

I'd like to share my own simple remedy for asthma. I'd like to know if it works for other people. I'm almost 57, and I've suffered with asthma for over 30 years. At times it has been so bad that I couldn't get enough air even while taking prednisone, Singulair, and an albuterol inhaler. I'm not a doctor. I don't work for Kalso or Jarrow. I'm just a writer who'd had enough of prescription dependencies. I'm now off all meds and am symptom free.

    How'd I do it? Here's how.
I'd heard that some people find temporary asthma relief from chiropractic adjustments, and that was on my mind when I picked up a pair of Kalso Earth Shoe sandals at Whole Foods.

Earth Shoes have a negative heel system which improves your posture and spine alignment. I haven't worn anything on my feet but Earth Shoes since I bought those sandals in 2007.

My posture has improved and I'm symptom free most days. I can even go months at a time without needing any prescription asthma remedies. When my chest feels a little tight though, I use my second secret weapon: Jarrow Formulas N-A-C Sustain (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) which was recommended to me by a Naturopath.

I take two before bed and one more in the morning on those rough days. That seems to get me back on track and then I'm fine with just the Earth Shoes.

Hey, please don't buy the shoes and the N-A-C, and throw out your prescription meds. My asthma symptoms didn't go away overnight. I have, however, weened myself off all prescription meds by using these simple remedies. Experiment while you have an ample supply of rescue meds and see if you need them any less.

Let me know if you have any success with my method.

    Best,

NAC is a precursor to the best antioxidant, Glutathione.

Most health remedies are elegantly simple. Big Pharma and their bedmates at the US FDA are the ones who complicate matters.

    Good for you!

    Hi again,
A noteworthy addendum. In retrospect, I realize that I left out an important part of the picture. I mentioned that I add N-A-C to my diet on those rare occasions when my chest feels tight, but what I failed to mention that those asthma episodes coincide with skipping my regular multivitamin intake. If I didn't get enough nutritional support I needed the N-A-C to get back on track. That is, I now realize, an important part of the remedy. I'm currently taking Realfood Organics Daily Nutrition by Country Life. In the past I've also liked Super Nutrition Perfect Family (formerly Perfect Blend.)
The correct remedy should read: Earth Shoes + a good food-based multivitamin -- with N-A-C as needed.
