Is this something that can be reversed, just caught up with Sid and he said that it was an angry response and not a formal request. What do you say? Can it be undone?

Normally the "Retired" account status is reversible, yes. Of course we usually refrain from discussing the particulars of any individual case in public.

I think Rob has to learn that his angry responses have their consequences, they can't be simply overlooked.

You can't say "I've been speaking in anger, so it should not matter what I've said." Being angry is not an excuse.

That's a shame. Even when I don't agree with him, I respect where he's coming from. Hopefully he will take some time and decide to come back. He always contributes substantive, smart posts, and I will/would miss his contributions. But, if he's truly had enough and wants to move on then maybe that's for the best.... I just hope that he's allowed to come back should he decide he wants to.
