Default Rachel Corrie: 'a true hero'

Rachel Corrie: 'a true hero' was killed by the state of Israel, and by its brutal regime that practises not only 'mass punishment' but also 'ethnic cleansing'. The same regime that has displaced over 4 million Palestinians, and killed many thousands. The same regime that has denied the right to self-determination to the Palestinian people.

A regime that systematically destroys the lives of innocents every single DAY.

    Dear daledo,

Thank you for honoring Rachel Corrie by posting these videos and sharing her courage and integrity for all to see and hear. Even from the early age of a grade 5 year old girl she spoke her truth. What an asset for our world to have been chosen by her to show us the way and at the same time what a loss of her passing for her family and friends as well as our civilization.
    Love and Light Always/Sandy

I've been to Israel and am disgusted with happens over there. The walls smacks of the ghettos the Nazis used to build around the Jewish ghettos. BTW, the Palestinians include the Christian Arabs too.

    By Rachel Corrie, aged 10 — 1990:

    I’m here for other children.
    I’m here because I care.
I’m here because children everywhere are suffering and because forty thousand people die each day from hunger.
I’m here because those people are mostly children.
We have got to understand that the poor are all around us and we are ignoring them.
We have got to understand that these deaths are preventable.
We have got to understand that people in third world countries think and care and smile and cry just like us.
We have got to understand that they dream our dreams and we dream theirs.
We have got to understand that they are us. We are them.
My dream is to stop hunger by the year 2000.
My dream is to give the poor a chance.
My dream is to save the 40,000 people who die each day.
My dream can and will come true if we all look into the future and see the light that shines there.
If we ignore hunger, that light will go out.
If we all help and work together, it will grow and burn free with the potential of tomorrow.

    I have bad nightmares
about tanks and bulldozers outside our house and you and me inside.

Quote Posted by Rachel Corrie to her mother, February 27 2003

Just want to write to my Mom and tell her that I’m witnessing this chronic, insidious genocide and I’m really scared, and questioning my fundamental belief in the goodness of human nature.

Thank you for honoring her. At the time of her death, she was the girlfriend of one of my friends. He was going down to visit her at the time, but she got killed before he got there. The whole event was so, so shocking.

Her death was one of the things that got me to see that everything in the news is not true and that there are true idealists out there. Rest in peace, Rachel, you are not forgotten.
