Default Mayan secrets to be revealed by Mexican government

This info comes from Reuters. I don't think the Mexican government knows things that we don't, but that's my take. It seems that with this documentary or film, will bring money from tourists.

Quote The Mexican government is releasing state-held secrets about the end of the Mayan calendar to the makers of a documentary, "Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond," TheWrap has learned.

The information -- protected for 80 years -- is expected to reveal Mayan beliefs in future catastrophes and wisdom characterized as "shocking," producer Raul Julia-Levy, son of actor Raul Julia, told TheWrap.

The end of the Mayan calendar in December 2012 has long given rise to theories and speculation about the end of the world.

The agreement will allow Julia-Levy to film in never-before-seen locations.

"The Mayans used to construct one pyramid over another," tourism minister for the Mexican state of Campeche Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado told TheWrap. "In the site at Calakmul (pictured below right), workers for INAH [the National Institute of Anthropology and History] have discovered rooms inside the pyramid that have never been seen or explored before.

"And we're letting this documentary film there, to see what has been discovered inside the pyramid."

I'm getting the idea that this might be like a History channel documentary, in which they repeat the same thing over and over just to fill the time up.

Anyway, here are some pictures of Calakmul in Campeche, south of Mexico.

Maybe the documentary will be alot better than what's been out there. New information that may enlighten people more....
Know what stood out for me from that whole article? "The information -- "protected for 80 years"....
Protected? More like suppressed, don't you think?

I hope you are right Maia, it would be great to have new and relevant info, but coming from the government........what can I say?

They have been lying to us all the time, so it is very hard to believe in them.
But I do want them to share something real.

at least there will be nuggets of truth hidden in the presentation, to those looking it will be seen . while it will go right past the general public.

It's exciting news, but indeed, most documentaries ask more questions than answer them. Annoying reallly. Lets hope this will be a good informative one.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic, but personally I pay no attention to doomsday stuff. The october date if it's predicting doomsday is another psy op or misinterpretation IMHO. I do think it is a very good idea to buy supplies and be prepared though for events that may transpire that are just part of nature. Like a flashlight that runs on kinetic energy, a radio of some sort with 2 way communication, food, water, candles etc.

don't know what the documentary has to say but i just got back from chitchen itza about a month ago and had a wonderful guide. i was there on the summer equinox and it was the strangest thing because i had read that you could see the shadow at sundown and the gates would be open for evening viewing. but once we got there they were ushering everybody out. i was upset because we drove a long way to view it during the equinox but low and behold they pick my group *and some new agers to come in for a private tour. i'm like WHAT?

but it was very cool. sadly my tour guide explained that yes, we should be able to see the snake shadow, it was designed to see it for the summer equinox too, but due to a magnetic shift that only the fall, or maybe it was the spring revealed the shadow. at least that is what i think he was on about. we had the entire park to ourselves and the folk that were there for a ceremony of some sort never left summer part of the pyramid.

the tour guide showed us carvings of people on what was known as the stage. it was to the north side of the football field. you know, where they played 'til the death' and the losers and the winners both were sacrificed? there were carvings of various 'visitors' that had journeyed to the mayan kingdom. i don't know exactly how many they were but the one he pointed out had a beard. he said that the beard is not native to the maya and the oral tradition of HIS people was that an enlightened one with a beard came over to the mayan lands about 2,000 years ago and lived with the mayan people to teach them about spirtuality. i asked him several times, do you mean jesus? and he said, yes, some might say. okay, so that i wasn't expecting.

moving on, we went to the cenote where virgins were steamed and then drowned by wearing stones to make them sink. and he said it was there where a massive asteroid hit and created all the cenotes in in mexico, i had heard something to that effect before. and i found it interesting that they dropping virgins from the sky into a bottomless pit *so to speak. he says they find amazing stuff in there all the time. the birds there were incrediable. gorgeous.

moving on, at the pyramid itself we were shown how the pyramids were built one on top of another on top of the other. i have pictures of the different foundations. i asked if the chambers inside were reused or repurposed. he explained there are several chambers. there was a time when the one of the chambers was available for the viewing public. it contained a relief sculpture of a jaguar and had some type of gemstone for the eyes *i want to say emeralds, but i might be wrong. the gemstones were stolen so they sealed of the chamber and no one has been able to study or explore the chambers since then. there were several other interesting tidbits, about the soldiers having the posh pad. and how time was their obsession. he also showd us the use of 7's throught the site, not only in structures but sounds *you can hear an echo 7 times when you clap your hands on the football field.

he explained the body dysmorphia was to be more like the gods, the snake was sacred not only because of the great snake god in the sky but because snakes could open your mind to cycles because they shed their skin, somehow...didn't quite understand that. and there is a ton i forgot, i wish i had videoed the guy with my young translator. anyway, that is the experience i had recently. thought i would share.
