Oh lord, I could probably write a book on all the odd encounters that I've had, whether human or non-human or something else, that is anyone's guess.

Since I was small I've been aware of "the in-between people" (my term for them). These are 'people' that move about like normal people, but whom most people don't seem to see. I can never decide if they are otherworldy or just vibrating at a higher frequency than most people. I see them - they see that I see them and acknowledge me with a nod or a smile, sometimes a touch of the hand, sometimes by catching and holding my eye. These 'people' always seem to be watching - watching those around them, standing on the edge of things or moving through a crowd, putting a hand on a shoulder, whispering in someone's ear...but like I said, no one ever seems to notice them, though most people treat them (physically) like they would any other person - walking around them, stepping to one side to let them pass etc, but never actually SEEING them. Of course sometimes the in-between people will do a 'fade' or simply slip through a wall. But for the most part they move about like a regular person.

One of the oddest encounters I had once was in an airport. I was sitting by a window, waiting for my connecting flight and just watching people come and go, and watching these in-between people as they moved about through the crowds. Well, out of nowhere this real girl came up to me and took both my hands in hers. "Please don't say anything" she said, then smiled at me and said "you're one of them, I know you are, thank you for being here, for letting me see you, just seeing you makes me feel that there is still some wonder in the world." Then she quickly let go of my hands and walked away. I stared after her, half laughing, and caught the eye of the closest in between person who gave me an ear-to-ear grin and winked before dissapearing through a wall.

Thatīs very nice! Iīve made a thread about one of these encounters a few months ago:

    http://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...nsional-beings

Anyway, Iīm pasting it here again:

It was July, 2010. We were having a party at a friendīs farm, not the "heavy" kind of party, but a pretty pleasant family party, with people from all ages playing nice games, listening to music and these kinds of stuff.

There was a lot of people there, so the bedrooms were all full and I had to sleep at the dining room.

It was about 3:00am when I went to sleep there, so I took my sleeping bag and got myself comfortable at a corner of the room, with half of my body under the dining table.

At about 3:45am, I woke up feeling a presence, feeling that something was there with me. When I opened my eyes, I saw four people sitting by the table. A mid aged woman, an old woman, a teenage boy and a bald mid aged man.

I was a little dizzy, because Iīm a heavy sleeper, so I didnīt care much about them. I just turn around and got back to sleep.

A few minutes later, Iīve waken up with the same sensation. The same persons were there, but this time, I tried to identify them just to realize they were not familiar to me at all. Suddenly, Iīve noticed that they were talking with each other somehow, but they werenīt making any noise. Their lips were shut, but they were interacting with each other like in a conversation. The strangest thing, is that they were moving so slow, just like a slow motion movie.

By that time, I realized I wasnīt dealing with something from this world.

After observing them for a while, I just got tired and got back to sleep. You know, Iīm used to weird things. Iīve lived with strange phenomenons during my whole life and I didnīt care to much about it. Besides, I wasnīt sensing any kind of evil or bad intentions on them.

A few minutes later, I woke up again, but I got a little bit scared because the old women was staring straight into my eyes and from above, since I was sleeping under table and they were sitting on the chairs.

This time, Iīve decided to get up and take a closer look on these guys. I walked around the table and somehow, I had the sensation that they didnīt care about it at all. Iīve looked into their eyes several times, but they didnīt stop doing their stuff. They were just "talking" to each other, without emitting any sounds or moving their lips. They were moving so slow... I mean, really slow, almost stopping.

So I got tired of it again, went back to sleep and guess what...I woke up again with the same sensation. They were still there, but changed positions. The tall bald mid aged man was now standing up...

This time, I was really mad, and I got up pretty fast saying something like "get out of here now! I want to sleep!" on loud voice, and they were gone, like in a split second.

It was the only time in my life that Iīve experienced such a thing several times on the same night. I mean, they looked real!
The house is on fire, the fire alarm is ringing, you can smell the smoke, you can feel the heat, but somehow, refuse to get out of the bed and do anything about it; Maybe youīre just scared, maybe you believe the fire is an illusion, or maybe youīre just waiting for a miracle to save you...Eventually, you die. So, what is it worth to be "awake" if you donīt get out of the bed and do something?

Which bit? I see the in-between people all the time, interact with them, so that wasn't exactly new. It still amazes me though. They are so peaceful and quiet and, well, ethereal.

I've had occurances similar to the girl coming up to me before happen, yes, but usually people aren't so direct. Usually they say something cryptic like "where did you come from?" or "have you been here the whole time?" or "Thank you for being here." These odd statements usually come totally unexpectedly and leave me blinking, lol.

I dont have much time at the moment to go into it, but I can assure you there is non human beings walking amongst us in the street daily. Those in between people as stated above is an very accurate repersentation of them.

had too many to tell all, but here is one. I was in the military talking on the pay phone at the post px, BIG parking lot, a man approached me and said he needed to fly home asap his wife was having the baby, he didn't have money, he was frantic, I told him , go to the red cross building right there and they will arrange everything pronto, he thanked me several times and as I turned my gaze his direction to say your welcome he vanished, just gone like that. there was no where to go to hide in that Big parking lot, he didn't have a car. it was like he came out of nowhere and returned to nowhere ...I had just been through the same thing three days before my son was born. thats how I knew where to go and what would take place with a Need to fly right now life or death situation... it was freaky...

No. But I have met two or three people who thought I was not human.
And a taxi driver thought I was an angel. (Which was deeply depressing because I was only being a human.)

And yet, they were wrong. I am a human. I was born on this Earth, from earthly parents.
I don't always like being a human, but I do try to be the best human I can possibly be.

A very interesting thread you lot with so much input. Thank you all.

Two experiences sprang to mind immediately when the question was first put forth, one negative and one positive. I will add the negative first and then the positive to end my post on a cheery note. Both occurred sometime in the nineties when I was a young man. Both were fleeting but were powerful enough to make a lasting impression upon me. Now the first.

I was in the city of Liverpool which is an old port town located in the north west of England. I was standing at a busy junction in the city-centre on a beautiful summers day waiting for the traffic to halt to allow us all to cross, when looking to my right I noticed a tall well-built male dressed in a black suit walking in my direction. His skin looked grey and his black eyes appeared lifeless. He was looking straight ahead and I knew he would continue past me but he gave off such an aura of evil that I had to look away. As he walked past me (within touching distance) I felt compelled to look upon him again. He was big, strode with a purpose and sitting on his right cheekbone just below his eye was a big, fat bluebottle. I couldn't get across the road quick enough.

Secondly, I used to volunteer with a group that gave under-priviledged children the oppurtunity to get away on a holiday that they would never otherwise realise. On this occasion we were to take the children to a 17th century manor house situated in the countryside outside Birmingham. Being disorganised as usual I had packed my camera in my rucksack but had forgotten to buy 35mm film to go with it. (To our younger readers these were the days before digital!) One arriving at this amazing building in the middle of nowhere, I realised that I would have no chance of buying the film and cursed my lack of foresight. There were photo opportunities galore.

On the second day of our holiday my fellow team-leader and I decided to take the boys of our group out on a walk into the countryside for an hour or two before tea. Nothing more than a few miles of country lanes that encircled the manor house. About an hour into the walk we approached the edge of a wood and saw a figure appear ahead of us in the dappled sunlight. Toothless and at least in his 80's he wore old-fashioned boots, an overcoat and leaned on a stick. He greeted us all and asked us where we were from. The boys all gathered round him and eagerly explained themselves. They were all so excited by his presence. Then he rummaged through his pockets and produced a 35mm film asking if it was of any use to anyone. I couldn't believe the coincidence and told him so. He chuckled to himself, handed me the film and said goodbye to us all. As we walked away I looked back to wave him goodbye but he was gone. I told the children he was a Wizard and still wonder to this day whether he was or not.

This is very interesting stuff. Who do you think the in-between people are? Are they us, but just on a different frequency? Are they 'watchers' or 'grigori' of some sort, (to use a less than perfect term)? I'm fascinated when you say that people don't see them, but still manage to walk out of their way--as though people are unconsciously aware that they are there, but still do not acknowledge them. What do you suppose that is all about? Thanks so much for this. You've set up and explained an amazing phenomenon in a sane way and in a way that is easy to visualize--at least for me.

This is another great story. Do you think he was a thought projection, given that this was the same scenario you had encountered? Or do you think it was a little pop quiz from the universe testing you on whether you had learned to appreciate the value of giving back what you had been fortunate enough to receive? Maybe both. That's a very heartwarming story in a way.

This happened to me & I don't speak of it often - because I do imagine people just plain won't believe it and will think I'm nuts. It's been over 10 years but I am still intrigued and wonder myself. PS: I am sane, non-delusional, have a great imagination but this was bizarre to me.

Sun was going down and I was walking alongside a wide road (dual carriageway just out of the city limits) and I fell into a manhole/big stormwater drain (normal lid wasn't there - probably stolen). From down there saw by the tunnel that I was now stuck in a big storm drain. I'm tall but I could not jump up to reach the hole at the surface - also there was no way I could crawl out - there being no means to get a foothold. (This pipe or drain would fit your lounge furniture - it was that big). I looked around and didn't call out for help - not knowing who or what could be lurking down the tunnel. Was thinking about what to do next, like walk the tunnel when a man came to the hole at the surface. He was in an army uniform which had become obsolete ą3years prior to this incident - which I immediately thought was odd. He put his arms down through the opening. He pulled me up by the arms - difficult feat considering I had no foot hold, so he was bearing all my weight up (and, as I said I am tall / big boned, not lightweight).
When I was on the surface he spoke to me saying I ought not to be walking around in that area (which I knew but..anyway). I was shocked to see he was small & short (not stocky or muscular) and wondered how he had the power to pull me out like that. I was also embarrassed (I mean REALLY embarrassed to be found there). I went on my way. There weren't any vehicles around, but just as a safety precaution glanced back after my first couple of steps to see where he was heading - and he was GONE. Not walking, not getting into any car - ZIP GONE. I might add that there was a fence to the side of the walkway and no buildings which he could have snuck into.
I was left with the thought that (a) HOW did he manage lift me out (b) WHY was he wearing an obsolete and unpopular army uniform and (c) WHERE did he disappear to

To this day I consider it could have been a paranormal intervention - I really don't know. BTW I got home safely with only a scratch to my shin.
What or who did you think this man was at the time? Would he be what some in the thread have referred to as in-between people, those who most cannot see? What sort of thoughts were going through your mind as you were say five or ten minutes out of the hole and walking back toward civilization? I'm guessing that must have been when it started to really hit you....

I found a rabbit under one of the cement benches in the Gallery Place metro stop once (six stories down -long story - very scared rabbit).

It's interesting, they seem to especially like watching the kids on the carosel on the mall - and for some reason, L'Enfant Plaza metro stop - especially during rush hour

Your experience is similar to mine, although there was no other person. As a teenager I enjoyed potholing or caving and I was descending a very akward hole called Drunkmans pit in Somerset with about 10 others. It was tortuous to descent and terminated in what is called a lobster pot that needed a rope to enter and exit via a hole in the roof of a large circular chamber. Going on from this chamber there was a crack in the floor that descended into chimney shaft and a boulder choke some 35 foot below.

It was there so I began to descend the last 35 foot and misplaced my footing and began to fall. In that split second the reality of the situation flashed through my mind, I was free-falling on to a very uneven boulder strewn floor some 30 foot below, the chances of escaping without breaking my legs were minimal, I would also probably hit my head badly as I only had a plastic construction site hat held on with a bit of bailing twine. Then I thought, with these type of injuries how would they get me out. I have had to assist others in the past with simple leg injuries and that was hard enough and this cave was one of the hardest I'd ever been down. Long story, short, I was going to die. I accepted my fate shut my eyes and relaxed there was nothing I could do as I plummeted towards the bottom.

With my eyes closed I thought, I should have hit the bottom by now, and waited for impact, it never came. I then became aware of a burning discomfort around my neck. I reached up thinking, what is going on, am I still falling, to discover the bailing twine strap on my helmet was pulled tightly under my jaw. The caving lamp that had been attached to the peak of the site hat was swinging around the void below me.

It was then that it dawned upon me that I was suspended from my hat,all 200 pound of me, aware it was only plastic and must be wedged between two opposing rocks, I gingerly felt for the lamp cord so I could get hold of the lamp at the end in order to assess if there was any hand or foot holds in blackness, I couldn't call for help because I couldn't open my mouth. The lamp came to hand and I found a hand hold and then a foot hold and then de-weighted the hat's hold on the rock and released it.

As you can imagine, relief is not the word and after I had composed myself I tried to asses where my hat had caught, I couldn't find anywhere that would have acted as a wedge for my hat.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure. I definitely don't get bad vibes from them. The fact that people physically react to them makes me feel that their being actual beings/entities (only a different vibrational level) is a good guess, because this would explain why their pressence can still be felt/detected, even if they don't consciously register in people's vision.

The fact that they don't JUST watch, but rather attempt to influence (the whisper in the ear, the touch on the shoulder etc.) however indirectly, makes me think that it is possible whoever and whatever they are (whether benign 'others' or aspects of our higher selves) be here to help guide humanity towards the next step in their spiritual evolution; preparing them maybe for the shfit in consciousness that is coinciding with the planetary changes....

Of course I could be completely wrong, but it's a thought

I've been told I'm an angel in disguise, and I wouldn't necessarily discount it either Have you considered that others may be sensing things about yourself that you yourself either don't realise or won't allow yourself to acknowledge?

    Hello sshenry

Quote ... Well, out of nowhere this real girl came up to me and took both my hands in hers. "Please don't say anything" she said, then smiled at me and said "you're one of them, I know you are, thank you for being here, for letting me see you, just seeing you makes me feel that there is still some wonder in the world." Then she quickly let go of my hands and walked away ...
From the experiences you describe - I have the strangest feeling that you may be the 'inbetweener'. Thank you very much for your experience story.

    Best regards to you. JP

sshenry, as a fellow DC resident I find your experiences fascinating!

I will keep my eyes open the next time I'm waiting at Gallery Place for a train or enjoying a hot dog on the Mall!

Aww did you get the rabbit to a shelter or vet?

Were you referring to in-between people watching kids on the carousel?

Me as the inbetweener...The thought has crossed my mind I'm not entierly sure what that would mean (for me) but it is definitely an interesting position to be in.

Oh yes, it went to an animal resuce shelter (actually they came and picked it up from me). Their deduction was that it must have been chased into the subway system from one of the metro stops that is out-of-doors (probably because of the grass mowing) and had somehow gotton on-board one of the trains, then gotten off at Gallery Place (which is six floors underground and right in the dead center of DC). What an adventure for a poor rabbit!

And yes - I was referring to the in-betweeners watching the kinds on the carosel

Thanks sshenry, I find this topic very interesting. I consider myself very open-minded about these sorts of things, but I can't say I have a lot of (or any) personal experience in them. I saw a UFO once. That was pretty intense. The details you have provided though have piqued my interest and I will watch people with a finer eye next time I am downtown.

It may be entirely possible I have met similar people and considered them simply odd, not deducing that they may be otherworldly or ethereal.
