As we cultivate peace and happiness in ourselves, we also nourish peace and happiness in those we love. With this is mind surely we would all seek to be happy...

Default How To Love God by Meher Baba

Quote To love God in the most practical way is to love our fellow beings. If we
feel for others in the same way as we feel for our own dear ones, we love God.
If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within ourselves, we are loving God.
If, instead of robbing others to help ourselves, we rob ourselves to help
    others, we are loving God.
If we suffer in the sufferings of others and feel happy in the happiness
of others, we are loving God.
If, instead of worrying over our own misfortunes, we think of ourselves
more fortunate than many many others, we are loving God.
If we endure our lot with patience and contentment, accepting it as His
    Will, we are loving God.
If we understand and feel that the greatest act of devotion and worship
to God is not to hurt or harm any of His beings, we are loving
To love God as He ought to be loved, we must live for God and die for
God, knowing that the goal of life is to Love God, and find Him as our own self.

    Jesus said:
Look toward the One who Lives
    while you are living.
Once you are dead, you will seek to see Him
    without achieving this vision.

    Jesus said:
    He who seeks will find.
    To him who knocks
    from the inside,
    it will be opened.

    Thought is an object
    and therefore
    cannot
    illuminate itself.

    And there can be no
    comprehension of
    both subject and object
    simultaneously.

    An evolved consciousness
    experiences one's own self
by the reflection of the changeless self
    arising as the
    field of consciousness.
    In that form,
    the self is known.

    Jesus Said;
    Many stand before the door
but it is the solitary ones

    and those who become simple
who will enter the bridal chamber

NB: The idea of God as the bridegroom is a very powerful one, as God is seen as the lover and its with the intensity of the lover that God can be known. Having a relationship with the cosmic beloved can be personal or impersonal. Its up to you.

I love the Tao Te Ching ( if I'm correct).

    SAMADHI

Vanished the veils of light and shade,
    Lifted every vapor of sorrow,
Sailed away all dawns of fleeting joy,
    Gone the dim sensory mirage.
Love, hate, health, disease, life, death,
Perished these false shadows on the screen of duality.
Waves of laughter, scyllas of sarcasm, melancholic whirlpools,
Melting in the vast sea of bliss.
    The storm of maya stilled
By magic wand of intuition deep.
The universe, forgotten dream, subconsciously lurks,
Ready to invade my newly wakened memory divine.
I live without the cosmic shadow,
    But it is not, bereft of me;
As the sea exists without the waves,
But they breathe not without the sea.
Dreams, wakings, states of deep turiya sleep,
Present, past, future, no more for me,
    But ever-present, all-flowing I, I, everywhere.
    Planets, stars, stardust, earth,
    Volcanic bursts of doomsday cataclysms,
    Creation's molding furnace,
Glaciers of silent x-rays, burning electron floods,
Thoughts of all men, past, present, to come,
Every blade of grass, myself, mankind,
    Each particle of universal dust,
Anger, greed, good, bad, salvation, lust,
    I swallowed, transmuted all
Into a vast ocean of blood of my own one Being!
    Smoldering joy, oft-puffed by meditation
    Blinding my tearful eyes,
Burst into immortal flames of bliss,
Consumed my tears, my frame, my all.
Thou art I, I am Thou,
    Knowing, Knower, Known, as One!
Tranquilled, unbroken thrill, eternally living, ever new peace!
Enjoyable beyond imagination of expectancy, samadhi bliss!
    Not a mental chloroform
Or unconscious state without wilful return,
Samadhi but extends my conscious realm
Beyond the limits of the mortal frame
    To farthest boundary of eternity
    Where I, the Cosmic Sea,
Watch the little ego floating in me.
The sparrow, each grain of sand, fall not without my sight.
All space like an iceberg floats within my mental sea.
Colossal Container, I, of all things made.
By deeper, longer, thirsty, guru-given meditation
    Comes this celestial samadhi
Mobile murmurs of atoms are heard,
The dark earth, mountains, vales, lo! molten liquid!
Flowing seas change into vapors of nebulae!
Aum blows upon the vapors, opening wondrously their veils,
    Oceans stand revealed, shining electrons,
Till, at last sound of the cosmic drum,
Vanish the grosser lights into eternal rays
    Of all-pervading bliss.
From joy I came, for joy I live, in sacred joy I melt.
Ocean of mind, I drink all creation's waves.
Four veils of solid, liquid, vapor, light,
    Lift aright.
Myself, in everything, enters the Great Myself.
Gone forever, fitful, flickering shadows of mortal memory.
Spotless is my mental sky, below, ahead, and high above.
Eternity and I, one united ray.
A tiny bubble of laughter, I
Am become the Sea of Mirth Itself

    April 7th

    From the depths of slumber,
As I ascend the spiral stairway of wakefulness,
    I whisper:
    God! God! God!
Thou art the food, and when I break my fast
    Of nightly separation from Thee,
I taste Thee, and mentally say:
    God! God! God!
No matter where I go, the spotlight of my mind
    Ever keeps turning on Thee,
And in the battle din of activity my silent war-cry is ever:
    God! God! God!
When boisterous storms of trials shriek
    And worries howl at me,
I drown their noises, loudly chanting:
    God! God! God!
    When my mind weaves dreams
    With threads of memories,
On that magic cloth I do emboss:
    God! God! God!
Every night, in time of deepest sleep,
My peace dreams and calls: Joy! Joy! Joy!
And my joy comes singing evermore:
    God! God! God!
In waking, eating, working, dreaming, sleeping,
    Serving, meditating, chanting, divinely loving,
My soul constantly hums, unheard by any:
    God! God! God!

    Truth is within ourselves.
There is an inmost center in us all,
Where the truth abides in fullness; and to know
Rather consists of opening out a way
Whence the imprisoned splendor may escape
Than in effecting entry for a light
    Supposed to be without.
