11/20/2014 — CLUSTER OF ASTEROID FRAGMENTS HEADING AWAY FROM SUN – DETECTED ON SOHO SOLAR OBSERVATORY

On November 19, 2014 (20:42UTC) a cluster of debris was detected heading away from the Sun on the SOHO solar observatory LASCO C3 camera.

Each object appearing fairly large in comparison to Earth, all heading in the same direction , seen for only ONE frame due to the camera feed cutting out for several hours after this image appears (what are the chances ? )

These objects are not to be confused with regular particle activity seen on the camera. Most likely asteroid debris of some kind. If these were comets, the tails would be facing AWAY from the Sun. Oddly, if these are asteroid fragments then they are very large.

These objects do NOT appear to be Earth directed at the moment, however a detailed count reveals about 18 different objects — meaning there are now at least 18 more new inner solar system asteroids to worry about.

the earth facing flare didn't look or measure very high, but it knocked out my cell phone, so it had to be restarted this morning.

Why are you late, a solar flare knocked out my phone so the alarm didn't go off... uh huh... sure ya did...

    no respect...

This stuff keeps getting better and better....or should I say more and more interesting. lol

It does appear that NASA is hiding something, why would it be blacked out?

Also where do you go to get the feed of the sun?

It seems that our Sun has gone almost quiet again, only small C-class flares, they say that in a few years there might be zero sunspots which means you know what... Though I'm sure that we can handle all the changes if we are prepared. After all humans are a quite resilient species, we won't give up so easily.

Hello my fellow Avalonian sun-watchers.....how y'all doing

It's been a while since i last posted. I think it was the 'ISON' thread.....if anyone remembers that far back

I just had a 'moment' with the SDO satellite which was a little bit amusing because i thought i had seen something interesting on one of the images but all it turned out to be was a lunar transit

    http://sdoisgo.blogspot.co.uk/2014/1...r-22-2014.html

Fortunately, i had the wherewithal to take a screenshot of it so that's something i guess

I've also got some film footage i took one evening of an electric storm that i would like some opinion on which i'll post up later if that's ok

Cheers for now guys.....it feels good to be posting again.....William

Is that coincidence? I think not and I certainly will make note of it.

they blocked the bottom quarter for 4 days, was there something they thought we weren't ready to see, or was it equipment failure?

they shut it off on the 21st...

after reading the Avalon Newsletter (great info from Bill, if you haven't taken the time yet...), I had to mention one of the US advanced aircraft that uses a propulsion system that creates donuts on a string contrails.

After a long period of relative calm on the Earth-facing surface of the Sun, sunspot 2222 has produced an M1.8 flare peaking at 06:41 UTC this morning:

The Sun's surface is peppered with at least 8 active regions, two of which are beta-gamma:

Quote HANCE OF FLARES: Two sunspots poised to explode are turning toward Earth. Click on the arrow to set the sun in motion, and watch the circled regions advance:

Active regions AR2221 and AR2222 have unstable 'beta-gamma' magnetic fields that harbor energy for M-class flares; they could "go off" at any moment. NOAA forecasters estimate a 45% to 50% chance of M-flares during the next 24 hours. Any eruptions from the duo will probably be Earth-directed as they continue to turn toward our planet.

    New update on spaceweather.com:

Quote CHANCE OF M-FLARES: NOAA forecasters estimate a 50% chance of M-class solar flares today. There are four possible sources: Sunspots AR2217, AR2219, AR2221 and AR2222 have unstable 'beta-gamma' magnetic fields that harbor energy for moderately strong explosions.

Earth-facing sunspots AR2221 and AR2222 pose a slight threat for M-class solar flares.

Peaking at 18:25 UTC Dec 4th, sunspot 2222 produced an M6.1 flare, followed shortly after with an M1.3 peaking at 19:41 UTC:

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote M6-CLASS SOLAR FLARE (UPDATED): The magnetic canopy of sunspot AR2222 erupted on Dec. 4th at 18:25 UT, producing an M6-class solar flare: movie. The explosion did not hurl a CME into space, so Earth-effects of the blast were limited to a brief HF radio blackout around the western hemisphere. NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of additional M-flares during the next 24 hours.
