Oh Yeah! That new sunspot, 2321 produced an M1.1 peaking at 09:49 UTC:

And here's something interesting from Presto Alert:

    # FAST WARNING 'PRESTO' MESSAGE from the SIDC (RWC-Belgium) #
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------#
Active to minor storm geomagnetic levels (K Dourbes = 4-5) are possible in
the second half of April 14 and on April 15, with the expected arrival of a
high speed stream from a southerly coronal hole that was already present in
the last two Carrington rotations and now extends to 20 degrees south of
    the solar equator.

Electrons seem to be returning to normal levels for now.

I just noticed that too. Complex sunspot turning in. Boundary crossing and I think SO said another one coming.

We've had multiple small M class flares coming in. And another.

No decent sleep for two nights/days now... Why? Because it's flaring again! So much energy going through my system again...

Cosmic rays have been on the rise too, Bartol continues to censor the readings. Look at the electrons, lol.

SolarHam: M4.0 Solar Flare just detected around departing region 2322 at 15:45 UTC.

Solar activity is now at moderate levels. An approaching region hiding behind the east limb was responsible for an M2.2 solar flare peaking at 10:40 UTC Tuesday morning. We will begin to see the source within the next 48 hours. On the west limb, departing sunspot 2322 which is now in a growth phase, produced a pair of M-Flares. The first was an M1.0 at 07:20 UTC. The second was an M2.2 peaking at 11:57 UTC. Region 2322 is now turning out of direct Earth view and future activity around this region will likely be directed away from Earth. Almost 24 hours of minor M class flaring but looks like it's settling down. Seems like we're going into a quiet spell. However, those coronal holes are another matter and may develop. Electrons recovering slowly.

It looks like a large unstable filament and solar tornados. Let's hope it settles down before becoming Earth facing. Proton event not completely settling down yet.

That magnetic filament is quite impressive and beautiful... and we must keep an eye on it....

    From spaceweather.com:

Quote MAGNETIC FILAMENT: For the 4th day in a row, amateur astronomers around the world are monitoring a filament of magnetism snaking over the sun's northeastern limb. This morning, Bill Hrudey photographed the structure from his observatory in the Cayman Islands:

Filled with hot-glowing plasma, the magnetic filament is more than 5 times taller than Earth and 25 times as long. These dimensions make it an easy target for backyard optics. "I used a Lunt solar telescope to take this picture," says Hrudey.

Bushy solar filaments like this one often become unstable and erupt. Debris falling to the sun's surface can produce secondary explosions called Hyder flares--a type of flare that happens without an underlying sunspot.

Anyone else wondering how the Sun will respond (every action has an equal and opposite reaction sort of thing) to CERN's interaction with the solar system mechanism and whether a powerful blast of solar particles will be sent out that would effectively shut CERN (and us) down ?

That giant filament coming on to the Earth facing disc with sunspot 2333 nearby sure does look interesting !

While i'm waiting to see how this pans out, have you ever wondered what some of the graphs like phi are measuring on the ACE solar wind charts ?

Here's a nice explanation about the ACE graphs from Mr.StarObservers who i believe is one of the SuspiciousObservers crew :

Looking at that cosmic ray chart above, it looks like i need to have a re-think about space-weather and how it affects me personally ?

The correlation for me between increased cosmic rays and tiredness had been looking reasonably consistent until this latest burst.

Can't say i have felt any more tired than usual lately, whereas when there is a strong space weather event, i definitely feel an overwhelming need to lay down as the energy just seems to get sucked right out of me.

Maybe it's not cosmic rays that strip me of my energy after all as i thought. Maybe it is high speed plasma streams penetrating the magnetosphere and literally sucking the life (or charge) out of me as the particles pass through me.

Something to think about any way !

A bit like the following chart.

I'm finding myself saying things like "haven't seen this before" quite a bit in my last few posts.....

Question - Are those the angles of particles coming in.....or leaving......hmmm.....i think i need to find me another instructional vid on cosmic ray charts !
