Electrons have had a rough time lately.
We also just got M2.2 flare, I guess I felt it coming.

Today as sunspot 2403 approaches its curtaincall at the eastern edge of the earth-facing sun, it produced 2 M flares: an M2.2 peaking at 13:16UTC
and an M2.1 peaking at 19:03 UC.

Here's spaceweather.com's update explaining what Wind has posted above (kinda):

Quote PROTON PERIL INCREASES AS SUNSPOT DEPARTS: Behemoth sunspot AR2403 is approaching the sun's western limb where, soon, it will disappear from view. Maximilian Teodorescu sends this parting shot from Magurele, Romania:

"This photogenic sunspot is rapidly closing on the solar limb," says Teodorescu. "I hope we see another one like it soon."

As AR2403 turns away from Earth, the odds of a geoeffective explosion ironically increase. Magnetic fields near the sun's western limb sweep back toward Earth, connecting our planet to the star: diagram. As the sunspot passes through this well-connected region, flares become extra-perilous. Protons and other subatomic particles accelerated by flares are guided by these sweeping magnetic fields right back toward Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate the odds of an X-flare to be 10% during the next 24 hours.

156 YEARS AGO [TODAY] A GEOMAGNETIC MEGA-STORM: On Sept. 2nd, a billion-ton coronal mass ejection (CME) slammed into Earth's magnetic field. Campers in the Rocky Mountains woke up in the middle of the night, thinking that the glow they saw was sunrise. No, it was the Northern Lights. People in Cuba read their morning paper by the red illumination of aurora borealis. Earth was peppered by particles so energetic, they altered the chemistry of polar ice.

Hard to believe? It really happened--exactly 156 years ago. This map shows where auroras were sighted in the early hours of Sept. 2, 1859:

    Wow, Rocky!

That blast this morning must have been on the backside... and it was a doosie!

Take a look at the seeds vid.... and note the strange "influx" at the polar region (plasma, energy or what..):

Electrons maybe, but my anxiety was so high that I almost had an panic attack... Not fun.

This is an interesting short video on sun stuff. It is dated Sept 5/2015. I note Wind's mention of heavy anxiety above - that's a bit reassuring, since I've been having bouts of anxiety myself lately.

    MorningSong:
Do you suppose this pulse, whose cone tip is on the spot of Hurricane Fred, is related to it? Fred formed this week and it is the farthest east a hurricane has ever formed. Do you supposed there is weather manipulation going on? Or are things just in general "heating up"?

I'm not MorningSong, but I hardly believe that they could just create hurricanes out of thin air. Our sun is the driving force when it comes to the climate.

We have had quite an active hurricane season globally. I think 5 or 6 named systems now. I agree with Wind in that the sun is the ruling force. Not all the energy is thermal energy or heat that the sun gives out.

There is generally a lot of useful and interesting info posted on this thread, but...

Has he got any evidence to back up his assertion "they issue the alert". What alert? The "east coast was virtually shut down". Really? The military warning civilian airlines, etc. is no doubt common during a military exercise.

Is it not possible that the spots and loops on the video are artefacts of computer processing of the data? Or even just mischievously 'faked-up' for dramatic effect?

It's been said here before, plenty of times, that if these events were real, or significant, they'd be picked up by amateur astronomers, radio enthusiasts, solar observers, and a whole range of amateur earth-science groups and enthusiasts who would post and discuss such events on their websites and forums. Most have quite sophisticated equipment and computers to swap and examine data.

Observations of sprites, blue jets, CMEs, ELF/VLF pulses, whistlers and other events do get reported by these groups (I read them and have contributed myself) and I can assure you that any nefarious high-energy man-made activity would not go unnoticed or unreported.

I suspect this guy is just misinterpreting data he picks up and distributes. He's got a Youtube following to satisfy after all. What are his technical/scientific qualifications?

(Surely I'm not the only one asking these questions - am I?)

OK. It sounds and looks good for the scientifically untrained, but I think his interpretation of that data is very dubious!

We are getting some flaring from the sun.

Edit on. Looks like a C 7.8 but I think we are still going to see more.

C9.5 flare, keep an eye on the Sun for now, that sundiver could be causing these.
