Belle loved your last post it rang true.
Especially the language part, that's for sure one of the
functions here for me too . Being alone for so long and
over many life times too one can get a little rusty in social
interaction and communication . What I'm finding is that
I have to constantly keep at it . I think confidence plays
a big part too. Having a venue where I can learn and
grow in a grpup is something I have been looking for in
    3D for eons.

It's funny too how you can take for granted and dismiss
how far you have come and what you have learnt until
you start to help others and put the etheric into words
where they then become more soild reality .
It really helps to build more strength i"m finding .
The online group I just started working with is also
great psychotherapy as everything is recorded and you
get to sit in witness to your own verbal interactions
for me this is tough going as I can be really over self
critical and too much of a perfectionist. This is my current
struggle . Navigating through the social parts
is a greater learning than the actual course I'm
signed up for . For me things can work in reverse to
most people, it's the small things that throw me, the
big things i can manage and thrive at. It's odd .
    Thanks, Astrid.

When I first joined Avalon and began posting, I discovered that I was 'nobody'. I would post and get no feedback except for a few thank you's. I mean, come on, with a nic like Belle...how mundane and non-threatening is that!

What a wonderful thing to be this 'nobody'. I could practice 'speaking' what I thought without conflict or having to defend myself...no one took me seriously. Through it I learned a lot about myself...who I was, what I was looking for from this experience, and how to function in a group. It gave me time to find my own voice and taught me I could stand in my own space in comfort without needing approval from others. I could see two main areas of focus and had time to find out which resonnated more...the one that focused on all the **** that was going on in the world on the outside, or the one that focused on the spiritual... inside of one's self. All the while I was practising participation in my own way in safe anonimity.

Then I found Here and Now. Oh how it resonnated! It's taken a while to settle into the Village and feel I actually have something to contribute to the community.

Hopefully, through this experience, I'll stop being so uncomfortable in social situations irl. We'll see.

Participating in the village has also helped me to function in a group as well. I was such a shy poster before, really quiet and unsure of myself. I gained alot of confidence here and still growing. Thanks everyone (again!).

Glad you like my new avatar Calz. Isnt she lovely? Her name is Death, a character from the Sandman comic series by Neil Gaiman one of my favourite authors. It took long enough to figure it out. Soon Il beef my profile properly guys, I promise x

Need to consult with my 10 year old on scanning pictures to digitize them () but have *zero* days off for another week.

Wifee really doesn't like that (until payday).

Just noticed the stats for the Here and Now thread...can't believe my eyes.
    We passed 150,000 views today.
It's growing beyond my wildest dreams.
    Where is this heading?

I love it that more people are participating yet am also a bit worried
about losing the continuity of the conversations due to too many posts.

If this Village keeps growing any faster it will lose it's Village character,
and suddenly we have city lights, and a work hard- play hard atmosphere.

Should I change myself and open up to such a possibility becoming reality?

Here and now out for a lunchtime walk. Bag of sunflower seeds in my pocket, ho-oponopono in my head/heart. Ulli, there are buttermilk clouds in a beautiful blue sky. Saw a black cat & thought of PL.
    Love to the village,

Lot's of divergent views and attitudes exist here and show up in the weirdest of ways. I found this Victor Borge piece and could not help but think this is a metaphor for how some threads go, I hope you enjoy and laugh as much as I did:

Up at the Ranch just hit 100,000 views with only 50 pages (as opposed to 300+ here).

sorry to interupt ... fun factoid time ...

Truth be told ... now with another forum available that is "worthy" it is getting ***really*** hard to find interest in posting in any other than those two threads.

Should? You should breathe. It's really good for your health. You may want to trust that the Village is healthy and that means its' immune system is operating very well. Keep your center and know "It's all good".

Just want to thank you for starting this thread. I so got tired of all of the ill-feelings that were posted elsewhere, people jumping ship etc. There is that friendly, helpful aspect of this thread that we all want to see PA get back to. That was what was a draw in the very beginning for me, then things seemed to go crazy. I having been circling in the air for awhile now and just now found a place to roost.

Haaa... You know, i've never been in a "plaza de toros". There are forbidden in Barcelona.

Take 3------ The very first thing a bull watch before "attack" is:
if the torero has his penis turn on the left side, the bull waits.
if he has his penis turn to the right, the bull runs towards him.

    Thanks Calz_ and Eaglespirit.

I know i'm a bit "swearing" all over. I've just went to the supermarket, chuckling all the way thinking in Calz_ and Eaglespirit. Thinking on the CNN, and other stories that came to my mind. This channel would not be the same for me.

Take-----4. John and Jenny making funny with jokes about farts. They farting instead of laughing. They have attached a little micro in their asses to catch every "laugh". Sennheiser was the brand.

I thought the same thing this morning. Ulli spent one or two months
reading astrological charts, and now this huge thread.

I do not know. Wait and you'll see. I would like to see this question on Tarot, but i have not at home right now.

Do not worry by numbers, and of course, thank you for the thread.

    here and now,
using the infrared lamp to get some relief.
Seemingly the only thing that helps at the moment.
Otherwise feeling very tired and off-key thru the 'jam'.
Actually had enough of it, long ago.
try this one when you feel up to it. Put some table salt into a pillow case, maybe 1 cup or so.
Knot the end of the pillow case so the salt can't fall out.
Heat it in the microwave oven on high for about three minutes.
Put that bag on your pain, when it's nice and hot.
You don't want to burn yourself, of course.
Anyway, the tiny salt crystals radiate a heat wave that penetrates deeper into the tissue than a normal heat pad would.
Be careful, this thing becomes addictive...you could soon be treating it with more love and care than your cat, just because of the pain relief it gives.

You may need Vitamin B Complex in high doses now, to heal the nerve.

    Rather interesting tidbit today.

I left a duffle bag full of belongings in NC, about 55 lbs worth...shipped back here by my friend by fedex .

Truck arrives at front of house a couple hours ago...I go out to carry the bag from the street.

Meet driver at the back of truck while he opens door, we introduce ourselves, I say I came to carry the bag as I know it is rather heavy.
So Dave says, "Thanks Dan, I'll get it"...he's about 6' 2" and in pretty good shape and throws it on his shoulder and says , "You know, I've been doing this kind of work for many years now,,,and you are the third person today that has come to the truck and offered help...I have NEVER had that happen before, never had one person offer never mind 3...isn't that something?!"
I go on to share that there are alot of 'changes' going on...ya know, 2012...we're right smack in the middle of it and I point to my heart.
He smiles...we have a few more words and when we shake hands at the front door I simply say the good is going to shine in people as never before and he says "That is what I'm feeling...time to be as good as we are able and help one another!"
Now, once again...I could not have invented this little script of a playout in the now any more wonderfully...
    Interesting, Ain't It : ) : ) : )

Ummmmm...You do it by pm Calz....and give the Spanish Dan a BIG benefit of the doubt and Spanish-English cross translations...sometimes crossing a language bridge we can run into unknowing detonation of cross culture explosives : ) : ) : )

That is ulli's responsibiliy ... no stepping on toes in the village allowed ...

Haaa... You know, i've never been in a "plaza de toros". There are forbidden in Barcelona.

Take 2------ "Oh, my God, i can't believe.... it'sss John!!, the presenter from CNN News!"

Love your "spunk" (american term I believe).

As the designated Libra on duty ... I would venture to guess that what has been expressed by some is a *bit* more subtlety (caution) on ... ummm ... colorful language.

Doesn't bother most ... but we have to consider many people visit here and some are quite sensitive.

    Comprende???

I actually feel ... umm ... foolish for saying this if modwiz can drop his drawers and instead of anyone objecting all the lovely ladies here give us their best look ...

    always digressing I am.

Dan as clearly as I can communicate (short of using a language translator program) is that your intent and spirit is greatly appreciated here (and now) ... but perhaps a bit more candor, caution, carefullness, consideration etc regarding your words.

Not coming from me ... I am the (on duty) Libra mediator.

... and I love you all

Please send me a PM if you wish to

Always happy to hear (and now) from my friendly villagers

Listened intently for the Sound of One Hand Clapping ... only to hear the sound of the other hand Whacking me Upside the Head!

Don't forget to take the time each day to smile.

Thank You, Calz...and Dan...we love You, man...just a translation thing.

I experienced the same thing when I was in Malta and lived and connected and helped some People, mainly from France.
The f word was used rather loosely when they spoke to me in broken english...it was unsettling and I had to let them know...and I'm a construction guy.
I simply said we do not use the word like that that often ...it was basically dis-coloring their delivery and they just didn't know.
