Second day in a row I wake up and there's a thread explaining what's wrong with Americans. I really really really really wish you guys could just live with me for a week. Might just change that negative tone. It's interesting to me that so many other people are okay with this. Maybe I have issues with disrespect? Doesn't matter, if these things bother me then it's a sign that I need to meditate more consistently. At least headaches haven't been bothering me *knock on wood*.

That being said I wont hold anything against anyone that posted anything derogatory because you're all humans (I think) and humans usually end up making me smile.

That being said wish me luck for today; in the fight to cripple the oil industry I gotta look up a bunch of boring numbers for several hours and then write for several more. Am I taking down the giants? Hell no, just trying to go the distance (like Rocky).

Well I stayed single until age 40 ... dated all types, sizes, shapes, ages and races during that time.

Got crazy at 40 ... lets call it a mid-life crisis to keep the shrinks in business shall we?


Dated lotso gals with kids ... didn't want to marry into that (not that there is anything wrong there ... simply my choice at that time).


So ... I looked for someone younger.


... and as the worm turns ... now *she* is having a "mid life crisis" in that she missed her freedom when she was young ... and so on.


Yeah I know ... what goes around comes around.


Ask ulli about a woman with both Venus and Mars in Scorpio going through her mid 30s (and beyond apparently) when women typically are at their hormonal height (as opposed to men who peak in their teens).


Again ... lesson learned ... careful what you wish for (and I did the astro prior)


Anyway .... shifting gears ... I think many of the posts in the two threads you refer to (particularly Gio's) has more to do with motivating us yanks to go beyond apathy and passive acceptance of what is clearly happening right now.

I mean ... seriously ... post office and fda (I think it was) is now also getting weapons and ammo???

Easy path is suggesting we don't have any control over a bought and paid for set of governmental puppets gone rougue ...


Tougher path is accepting some responsibility for what we perhaps helped in co-creating (and I am *not* talking about the sham of elections where we have "puppet a" vs "puppet b" who both come from the same bloodline and dance to the same masters).

Mid-life crisis popped into my head, too. I almost ask if she wanted a red car? Back when you posted that she wanted to try for a little girl and 'how about a bigger home?', my wheels got a’turning.

No blame here. I get it. Life happens. It’s unfortunate when people get caught off guard with milestones along the way. When partners understand this, then the ones with ‘big love’ can weather it together or for one another.

It’s my hope that sooner than later, there’ll be more with the ‘big love’ where forgiveness, understanding, and compromise are not even thought about because it’s as natural as the next breath.

I was at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) yesterday, where only 25 people were allowed inside which included workers. In that space were three notices of “no guns or ammunition allowed”.

It sparked quiet (very quiet) conversations, and unfinished sentences and head nods.

UPDATE: added 'compromise'. Limited it to only three.

We can probably agree on gals and Zeppelin but on this matter I will have to disagree with you. I'm thinking about making an audio rant on this matter. If I posted how I feel in text form it would seem offensive but if one can hear the tone of my voice then you can see I'm serious about what I'm saying, but I'm not overly angry, I'm just using my sense of humor to vent. In that process it can get vulgar. I think this leads to misunderstandings quite a bit online so I'd love to speak my mind but on this forum I watch my p's and q's while attempting to keep my 'jokes' at bay.

...You're kinda proving my point here. The global problem is ****ing GLOBAL. People are just so damn delusional about how I, me, my friends and family - everyone I see everyday - is the cause of the worlds problems. Seriously, don't back out and say this doesn't apply to me, I'm a god damn American and I'm a fighter. My bloodline is half Italian and half German but I am an American. I'm not lazy. **** anybody who judges anybody. Nobody except God sees what I go through and to call me lazy is a rude thing to do.

You guys don't know me or anyone I know. If anyone ever insulted my parents or called them lazy/apathetic to my face then I'm flipping my Tyler Durden switch immediately. Why would you call me lazy/apathetic/whatever? My assumption would be because there's nothing going on at the time of the post and it's emotionally satisfying to post something like that. Kinda like a nice time kill.

I truly believe this because this is how humans work - it's in our minds - it's one of those patterns through time that repeats forever. Humans just do **** like this; piss away whatever thought is floating around. That's why I said earlier I wont hold it against anyone (although you can tell by now it drives me up the wall).

I wonder how many non-Americans talk bad about America as they sit behind their Dell laptop? Ya know, right before they strap up the New Balance's for a run around the park.

Yeah, I've been noticing that "mood", clashes imminent. One should remember to remain calm in times like this, but it's not always that easy, unless you're a Buddha. Thankfully I know the art of conscious breathing...

Anyway ... I understand where you are coming from more than you might expect. I always try to put myself in someone else's shoe so that happens a lot.

I can sympathize with those around the world angry at what the military of this country has done (in truth borderless support of the bankster corporate feeding of the elite). To what degree we civilians bear responsibility is debatable ... yes? ... and that is why I appreciate Gio's "and what can we do about it" approach.

Hi folks
This time last year I was unwell. But that was last year. Last week I had an overdue break giving my other half my undivided attention, which usually involves going offline, emptying my head, soaking in the sun, enjoying blue seas and mountains, and more legwork than I am configured for. It takes a few days to recover from all of that, because it is no illness

As a staunch Avalonian I recommend Ryanair for travelling light – and light travel if not faster is what we are talking about. Rianayr will bring you home safely for a few extra euros if you need to print your ticket before you leave. Even at these tiny airports, there is always a nice lady to relieve you of that explosive face cream or shampoo you forgot to leave at home.

So – mission accomplished – I have nothing at all to report. Except that while we were gone, there was an invasion of 20 heads of state to our part of the world, which we did well to miss – the Longest Week commemorating the Longest Day. Politicians and royalty “overpaid, oversexed and over here”, as they said about the GIs in the UK in 1944. These guys were all bringing traffic to a standstill waking up our sleepy towns in different random orders, places you read about in history books, like Ouistreham, Bénouville, Bernières, Bayeux and Sainte-Mère-Eglise. The idea of promoting peace by remembering the strategic qualities of a battlefield and all the homes that were smashed (over 20,000 civilian casualties) is all wrong. They want people awake and aware of all the horrors that have been going on. People like the awful Sarkozy saying that his sons are older than the cannon fodder buried here, and that he hopes they could make the same sacrifice if necessary. War is peace etc.

The excuse for all these commemorations is of course the 70th anniversary, the last round number before the last of the vets die off. But we are already into the centenary of World War I, which will drag on for four more years. What we really need is a little forgetfulness. Peace and quiet in the here and now as a practice ground for peace in the future here and now with nothing untoward to remember. In Sicily, we saw another example of the difficulty we have in dealing with this issue. This blip on Google Earth is the old town of Gibellina wiped out in an earthquake in 1968.

Why is it white? In 1988, the 541 victims were memorialized by a piece of ‘minimalist’ Land Art, with the whole place buried in concrete, and the street plan left visible. This is not a good way to deal with collective trauma. We are now stuck with this eyesore for hundreds of years, and it will probably even survive another earthquake. It would have made more sense to remove the rubble and plant olive and fig trees and maybe put commemorative labels on the oil and jam. And incidentally, Italy being a Catholic country, it would have been a more Christian solution. Didn’t Jesus say ‘Put me on the dinner table, not in a mausoleum’? Or deeds to that effect.
