Maybe I'll go Tuesday, it was too rainy this weekend... Tuesday could be fun, I'll bring my dog, he's very good psycho deterrent. I Do plan on shooting some video... Gotta see it for myself, being an armchair participant in these types of things makes it very hard to get a real feel for what is going on in reality.

High Value Interrogation Group (HIG)

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was subjected to 16 hours of questioning by the Department of Justice High Value Interrogation Team before he was finally read his rights and his request for a lawyer was granted.

The multi-agency team consists of professionals from the CIA, FBI, Department of State and Department of Defense and was initially established in 2009 to question terror suspects who had been captured overseas only. Their remit was expanded in 2010 when it was announced that the group would begin interrogating suspects in the U.S. as well.

The HIG's rules on conducting interrogations and obtaining confessions differ very much from what would normally be considered standard practice. They are not bound by the usual rules strictly adhered to whilst interviewing suspects and instead follow the interrogation guidelines contained within the U.S. Army's Field Manual. This manual permits that any defendant undergoing an interrogation may be subjected to forms of 'coercive questioning' .
Coercive questioning covers a very broad base of techniques none of which bear any resemblance to the FBI's well-publicised techniques such as 'rapport building', which is employed to elicit information from a suspect in professional and non-threatening manner.

Below is a table demonstrating the legally permissible techniques HIGs may employ during their interrogation of a suspect and it offers some truly sickening insight.

Unbelievably, the table employs the exact wording and methods outlined in the now infamous publication by Albert Biderman 'The Manipulation of Human Behavior' specifically in reference to his heavily criticized 'Chart of Coercion' often referred to as
the 'torturers table'.

With coronavirus panic sparking worldwide toilet paper shortages, Marvel has rolled out new superheroes to restore faith in humanity: ‘Snowflake’ and ‘Safespace’. Not really the heroes we need, but probably the ones we deserve.

Known for iconic characters such as Spider Man, the Hulk, and Captain America, Marvel has apparently decided that comic book fans need new, “post-ironic” (their words, not ours) heroes. The entertainment company unveiled in a new trailer that their ‘New Warriors’ line-up includes psychic twins named Snowflake and Safespace.

Snowflake is obviously non-binary and “goes by they/them,” Marvel noted. The gender-fluid twin vanquishes enemies with “snowflake-shaped projectiles.”

“The connotations of the word ‘snowflake’ in our culture right now are something fragile, and this is a character who is turning it into something sharp,” the comic book company helpfully explained.

Safespace, who identifies as male, is able to create a defensive force field – perhaps to shield people from being mis-gendered, for example.

The magical twins are “hyper aware of modern culture” and see their super powers as a “post-ironic meditation on using violence to combat bullying,” Marvel un-ironically wrote.

A trailer showcasing the pair seemed so unbelievable that many on social media thought at first that it was an elaborate hoax.

The twins are symptomatic of a larger problem: That the Left “never runs out of bad ideas,” actress and political commentator Mindy Robinson argued.

While the super-duo were widely trashed on Twitter, one commenter thanked Marvel for lightening the mood in these dark and uncertain times.

“Just when the world needed some levity, here comes 2020 Marvel Comics with their new heroes ...SAFESPACE and SNOWFLAKE. THANK YOU MARVEL YOU ARE SAVING LIVES.”

This isn’t the first time that Marvel has sought the much-coveted approval of ‘woke’ culture. In January, the company announced that it would introduce a trans hero “very soon.”

Some thoughts in lockdown2

Here in France, where on Friday the thirteenth we remember the terrorist attacks of Friday the thirteenth 2015, we have been in lockdown for two weeks now. Some strange figures: two weeks ago we were level with Spain at 1 million covid cases, two thirds of which came in October. The last time I checked, Spain was at 1.3 million, France at 1.8 million… something like 5/6ths of the total covid cases since January have occurred in the last six weeks. Therefore, if we are talking about the same thing as last spring, the overall figure for deaths should be at around 33,000*6 = nearly 200,000, when the actual figure is around 42,000.

Unsurprisingly, 60% of French people admit to having taken liberties with the lockdown restrictions. I shall plead 5th amendment is it? and side with the 40% in order to look at what is going on here. The procedure is as follows. You fill in a signed dated form called an Attestation sur l’honneur, ticking a box corresponding to what you are about: business, shopping, exercise, caring for someone etc. If you are stopped, you are questioned by police, only doing their job, I totally get that, but basically taking issue with one’s honorability.

The problem is that you may have a valid reason for being on the road, but if in doubt as to the patrolman’s reaction, you want to err on the side of safety. Better go look after an old family member, even if she’s dead, than say a young family member living alone, equally in need because she cannot change a fuse/unblock the shower/do the things a man about the house usually does. Or maybe there is work going on that was interrupted by the shutdown such as will cause major problems. You get my drift.

What this means is that honest people are learning the skills of deception – not in a negative way but in the way those resistance fighters we revere for helping to overcome the Nazis operated. It may well be, for all I know, that the government has everyone’s best interests in mind, but what remains is that the ordinary citizen finds him or herself in a wartime situation of resistance to an occupying power in the form of the police.

When you expand this phenomenon to millions and millions around the world, what you need to factor in is the psychic aspect: people don’t need to ‘wake up’ or anything like that: the sheer weight of numbers of ordinary folk with healthy reactions will slowly have changed the mental landscape of humanity. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what Trump does or is: he is… trumped by this demonstration of inexpugnable democracy: one person one vote.
