Quote Checking in with you, Big D. Did I push too hard? I sometimes I don't know where the line is between "Get out of my face will ya!" and "How about this POV?". Sorry, if it's the former.
    I'll be more mindful.
Gimme a break...I came here for "eagle"-strength pushes...your sweetness is like nice kisses all over my cheeks, which I like just as much, and why i spend as much time in the village as anywhere else.

No...I always lament the need to replace the esteemed Mr. Marley from my life (even if only temporary). It's not so bad as I have a ton to listen to on my own, but he is a crowd pleaser, when music is called for in groups...it is hard to find anyone that appeals to everyone more than him...then you get some "soul shakedown party tonight" going, next thing you know the room starts smelling like Spicoli's van:

"If I'm here, and you're here, doesn't it make it OUR time?"

    Aloha Mr. Hand
They truly look like my neighbours, my today's neighbours. Truly.

It turned his world upside down and made him see everything in a different light. Now, Jonas is setting out to hear other people's stories on In Deep Shift with Jonas Elrod. On February 3, join Jonas as he travels to Arizona to meet Brian Mancini, an Army veteran battling post-traumatic stress disorder. I did my whole day up to 4h50 pm. Thanks everyone. I was caughing, sneezing, but no fever. They had been told the day before I had the flue, so they knew.

The funniest thing is that half of them were nurses, male and female, and the other half were psychologists, 29 altogether. The nurses would come at break to offer me water, tylenol, throat analgesics, tell me what they saw (your face is changing color, prevent by taking a tylenol, body temperature is changing), etc. I am going back tomorrow morning. I just hope I did not contaminate anyone, which is doubtful. My brain was a bit spacy, I am usually sharper, and I had to sit more, I usually walk around much more. Well, this is life.

Thanks again very much, with fever I could never have done it.

Heh...would you like me to? I found the pic and got excited...but am almost tired of it already, doesn't really "fit". It is meant as a warning: "beware plastic punkins!!"

You gotta watch "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". Well, don't "gotta", it may not translate well. Or amuse most Avalonians as it does me. Was one of (if not the) first Sean Penn flick.

    Great story Nora, thanks

And here is a paragraph in Gurdjieff's own words. I'm not putting all of it, as that would be overload.
But for the musicians who come here this might be of interest....

"I will cite you one example only -- music. Objective music is all based on inner octaves. And it can obtain not only definite psychological results but definite physical results. There can be such music as would freeze water. There can be such music as would kill a man instantaneously. The Biblical legend of the destruction of the walls of Jericho by music is precisely a legend of objective music. Plain music, no matter of what kind, will not destroy walls, but objective music indeed can do so. And not only can it destroy but it can also build up. In the legend of Orpheus there are hints of objective music, for Orpheus used to impart knowledge by music. Snake charmers' music in the East is an approach to objective music, of course very primitive. Very often it is simply one note which is long drawn out, rising and falling only very little; but in this single note 'inner octaves' are going on all the time and melodies of 'inner octaves' which are inaudible to the ears but felt by the emotional center. And the snake hears this music or, more strictly speaking, he feels it, and he obeys it. The same music, only a little more complicated, and men would obey it."
The local flock of turkeys were in the front yard yesterday.

A siren began to wail and started to come closer.

The turkeys began to run in circles, together... and pecked at each other.

When the siren stopped, they went back to their normal behavior.

I'm wheezy from laughing so hard. That was only 2 hours, while many of us go for 24+. The unknown of how long adds to it. But, I have to say, kudos to them! They've shed light for many.

I really dig Manu Chao. I first heard of them in Deutschland. The album, Clandestino, is really great, if you haven't heard it, and you like that type of music. I've been thinking about Paula's thread of recent, and this song of Manu Chao's sums up my thoughts on the matter, though this might be the wrong thread to post it on:

I'm wheezy from laughing so hard. That was only 2 hours, while many of us go for 24+. The unknown of how long adds to it. But, I have to say, kudos to them! They've shed light for many.

Tomorrow, I promise not to flood the thread.
My sister did 27 hours, and it ended with a C-section.
Oh, man...I just lost my post again.
Shorten version: Ow, ow. Ouch! 27+C+recuperation and rest with an infant. Oxymoron comes to mind.
I went the 24+ with complications.
