It's been raining real hard past few days in LA. It is much needed rain, but traffic is a nightmare. Traffic in LA is pretty bad 7 days a week without the rain.

I was in need of a new pillow, and I wanted to check out this pillow store in Pasadena, but my friend advised me to wait until next weekend, when there was no rain in the forecast. Afterwards, we could hangout in the area.
For some reason, I decided I did not want to wait a week for a new pillow, and decided to venture out on a very wet Saturday afternoon. It was pouring outside. Most cars were on a crawl mode. The Pasadena fwy was pretty free, with most cars going at about 40mph. One could actually appreciate the scenery at that pace.

It was a very pleasant drive with all the rain, because it felt as if it was cleansing everything. A bit surreal.

So, I got to the store at 3:40pm. The store closed at 3:30. Nobody bothered to update their hours online. Bummer.
Funny thing, I was not the least upset, because I was looking forward to the drive back home.
The drive back was even more awesome. The rain started coming down very very hard. I got to see lightning with the tall downtown buildings as the backdrop. Picture perfect. It was invigorating. Then once I got into downtown, I saw empty streets being washed with the pouring rain. It was refreshing. It was...peaceful. This is the city I spent half of my life so far. And I saw it again for the first time yesterday.

Oh, I am not a rain person btw. I like my days bright and breezy.
And I got my pillow online from another place. But we all know my little drive was not for the pillow.

Oh, skyflower, that sounds amazing. Wow. I love it when experiences unfold like that.

We are having a bit of odd weather today. The past few times the forecast said snow or ice, my house was spared. It must have been this area that was spared. But not this time. There has been window-rattling, wall-shaking thunder and lightning for hours. This happens in the spring, but...it hasn't been raining, it has been pouring down ice. It isn't sleet either, it is ice pellets. It is quite beautiful outside, everything is white as if it had been snowing. But it hasn't been snow either. Em and I went outside a minute ago to see if we could coax the stray dog inside. We thought to put it in Devin's old kennel. She was shivering, no doubt really cold but probably scared also. Anyway, it was slick as snot. Oh, sorry, just an expression. There isn't an inch of dry space on the porch anywhere, so it's hold on or go down. (She had already run off, so we never did get her inside.)

I stocked up at the store, and I brought some wood in, so we are warm and prepared. But I will say, I'm a little worried about the weight of all this ice on power lines, etc. The power has flickered several times. So everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, we will sit and enjoy the snapping and crackling of the fire, and the smell of burning wood. Such a comfort.

    Much Love,
Do not fashion me a maiden who needs saving from the dragons. I am the Dragon. And I will eat you whole.

    Hi 1inMany,

Just sent thoughts for those ice clouds to move along. Don't unload all in one area.
Enjoy that crackling fire and the peace and comfort of home sweet home.

A heartfelt thanks to you all.
    Everything is perfect,
after a life time of illness she finally
slipped out quietly, so quietly in fact that no one realised she had gone for quite sometime.
Meanwhile her presence was felt strongly in the sweat lodge i was attending on her behalf.

Since her passing she has been very chatty, even insistent with me, in true
mother style, today, reminding me to eat.
So it's all very very interesting.

Anyways, thank you all, now back to my perch

    Many blessings,
    Astrid

Traveling, argh. Just waking up here in Miami.
Last night we ordered Italian food to be delivered to our room from a nearby restaurant. It was the worst fettuccine of our entire lives and cost $35,
Delivered without eating utensils. We used my tweezers to eat, as we were very hungry. No joke.
The Heinekens were in bottles, and it was funny watching my husband invent a new bottle opener system, using the bedside lamps.

Then at 1 PM I woke up with that same toothache that strikes me every night at that exact hour, each time with greater unbelievable fury. After applying clove oil and reciting prayers it faded away again. Weird. Killer toothache. I hope I can find a good dentist in Barbados. I've got a feeling I will be returning to Costa Rica minus one tooth...

And here I was, complaining to myself about Isis keeping me up all night. Thank you for reminding me it could always be worse. Although I will say, at least your night-time agony has a possible solution. I have no clue what to do with a kitty who won't sleep through the night. I'm too old to be a new mommy, I value and need sleep more than I used to. For sure.

When we first brought her home, I barricaded my door so she couldn't come in at night. I may go back to that. It is such a pain though, because the doors are several inches up off the floor. Still, it was a peaceful night's sleep...

Here's to a pain-free day for you, sweet ulli. And a day with scrumptious meals and safe travel

Default Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?

I was feeling quite optimistic yesterday, about changes. About the next evolutionary step for humanity, which I think will be a spiritual one. But...then I realized that as awesome as this will be, it will likely take generations to fully manifest. Which was a downer. It kind of reminds me of the research I did, back in the day, about the changing roles of woman. There was a time, and I do not believe for a moment this is gone (though it has improved), there was a glass ceiling women would hit in the business world. And at the time, I concluded that a whole generation of old white men (no offense to anyone intended) would have to die off before women would be able to reach a certain level of success. The good ole boys are still alive and kicking in this small town, I will tell you that. Anyway, I was pondering this on a greater scale yesterday, that a whole generation of dark, negative people will have to die off...and possibly some of their offspring (since they are trained from birth) for the new energy to spread.

Surely it can take hold in some individuals. Maybe some are here, now, just for that purpose. But the light (for lack of a better word) will have to spread while the darkness dies out.

I guess I was a little disappointed to realize this. Old, negative energy will die hard. So the fight isn't over yet, even though I (we) know how it ends. I guess the thing to do is to keep slogging through. And focus on the transformation that is occurring in me, though it is so difficult to describe. There is a sensation, physically, but also a disconnect emotionally. And there is most definitely an opening up type sensation. And I sense different things, but I'm sort of at a loss as to how I would describe these things.

One minute I am deeply connected to that, and the next minute I realize that it is business as usual here. Rising and falling. Expanding and shrinking. Coming and going. Phew. I guess even when I don't think anything is happening, a lot is happening.

On smashing glass ceilings for women.
Here in France we have upcoming municipal elections for villages, towns and cities, all 36,000 of them, many of course very tiny. The lists have to include as many women as men, and with equal prominence. This seems to be making a positive difference. In our very small town, we used to have at best two lists of candidates, but this year we have four – that’s nearly a hundred people, half of them women, and two of them liable to become mayor if they win. This is a compulsory measure similar to positive discrimination that has obviously mobilized the womenfolk, so things are really looking up.

In the cities, these elections run on party political lines, and are not looking so good. The national government has been making no headway against big capital, and people have already had enough of the sleazy right. So there is a real danger of mass abstentions leading to big gains among the near-fascist far right who on previous occasions have demonstrated their crass incompetence. Whether or not this is a step in the right direction I don’t know. The popular anti-establishment stance of Dieudonné and friends is eating out of the hand of this extremely nasty far right element.

An eternal now by Bob Dylan and/or Tracy Chapman. Whatever.., beautiful

    The line it is drawn
    The curse it is cast
    The slow one now
    Will later be fast
    As the present now
    Will later be past
    The order is
    Rapidly fadin'
    And the first one now
    Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

Yes, personnally, I have the feeling of having covered 3 years (like last year time frame) of spiritual evolution within one week. Breathless!!

Have had the same condition for about two weeks, waking me up several times a night. I've been so exhausted, last Friday I backed into a tree and did $2400.00 damage to my pick-up. I've tried everything: gargling with MMS, irrigating with the water pic, copious amounts of aspirin, etc. Finally, whatever it was that was lodged inside the pocket between my gum and my tooth, dislodged with the water pic (my gums are receded and therefore I have this pocket) and I got two solid nights of sleep in a row.

I didn't realize how exhausted I was. In one more day, I was about to either take a self inflicted bullet to the head, yank the tooth out myself, or have the dentist kill it with a root canal. There is no greater pain that I know of than toothache, and I'm alive to tell about it.

Now, I'm incorporating oil pulling as well as water irrigation with the water pic. No more brushing.

Although tooth ache is terrible, you obviously have not given birth to a baby lol

Irrigate with the water pik, but with a MMS mixture. That trick works wonders. it kills the deep gum bacteria, down at the roots...for the first time in a very long time, for most of us. As in, the first time in our lives.

I do with with an approximate 6 drop mix, and about 2/3rd full on the waterpik, and gargle with the mouthfuls and spit it out. I keep going until the waterpik container is empty.

I'm not sure there is anything else a person can do that brings more fresh health (via killing the accumulated resistant bacterial load) for the human mouth, than this trick.
