Clarity only begins to come when the last thing to cling to - is gone. When the ability to cling, even at the most subtle and unconscious levels, is gone. One cannot think it, one cannot out-think it, one cannot game it, or play with it. It cannot be fooled, it is a real thing. Hovering on the border of dissolution, in the most base of all that represents one's given capacity to perceive and be, is where it is. When the deepest formational directive to emote in the production, emanation and relation of self is finally gone (is released and relaxed) -then it finally begins to emerge.

Yes, we have to seek detachment when the rise (external impetus as interpreted reflection) to attach or cling is at it's most peaked. To seek detachment, or unclench one's existential buttocks.

That does not mean a lack of response, but one that comes from where it might do the most good. Whatever that may be for the individual.

I was in the opposite state of clarity when we ran from the fire that burned the house down next door. I could not think. My mind bounced from one scenario to another.

After awhile though, it was odd, the things I wanted. I wanted cool, a shower, a place to lay down my head. All of it related to physicality. The tons of books, possessions, the house, my mind shied away.

When we walked back into the subdivision (very narrow roads, not safe to drive in during a fire), people were gathered in our next door neighbor's driveway, sitting in chairs... We all gladly hugged one another.

Firemen are heroes. They marched around that house with flashlights for six hours after the fire was under control, to make sure no sparks set off a forest fire.

See, just thinking about it sets my mind on all sorts of tangents.

Oh. Guys. A bug out bag. One cannot think when flames two stories high are 30 feet away. I remembered cats, hearing aid batteries, water, and nothing else.

The past week has taking me back to places I thought I'd never go again. Being in my head more than my heart, responding as a meatsuit with just a bit of will. I suppose the up-side is that I am aware of it, but allowing that burning energetic core right below the rib cage to determine the words that come out of my mouth and the subsequent actions has not proven to be the right tack to take.

Given the current energies, all of the deaths, the traumas, the rising tide of emotional manipulation at the mass scale, I did not expect to be able to walk through these days unscathed. Or, perhaps, I did. But it has not worked out that way at all.

Constantly returning to that point of cessation has been my only saving grace. Years of meditative practice has made it automatic, so the states of mental unease do not last too long, thankfully.

Still. It is something to be alive in these interesting days. Thanks Carmody and Ulli and all else for the convo ...

LOL I must admit that a few threads on Avalon right now have me wantin' to stir up some conflict, just to get beyond the unconscious assumptions rising to the surface. I have to remind myself tho', we are all entitled to our opinions.

...but how many of those opinions would be "ours" (to be entitled to) were it not for tainted (and manipulated, and incomplete, and deceitful...) information?

Without disagreement, nothing is learned. Conflict only comes (& given power & causes problems...) with emotional attachments

The only deception you can be certain of is your own.
What other's motives are can be difficult to discern, and takes extra depth and attention to fathom.

I meant by " stirring conflict" doing stuff just because one is bored, or because one wants to test people's reaction...acts of cruelty.....

...and coming from a work-a-day world where I HAD to be 3 steps ahead of the shoeshine to be at optimum in my supervision and management tasks at hand...that "stuff" became natural...

for instance,
asking leading questions that very indirectly directly got the information needed without the other party being aware of what they were actually telling you. A bit of deception there, no, alot of deception there.
Had to lighten up on that quite a bit to feel I was living each day more purely.
