Life is a road we don't travel alone. But everyone's on their own journey home.

Helloooo Beautiful Peoples! As a new precessional cycle draws near, and a new thousand pages of the Village ensues, be careful not to set sail on das Narrenschiff. It will take you to shores unnecessary. The next season leading up to the Solstice and beyond is bound to be interesting and beneficial if ye deem it so! It's time to make the best of it! I got no complaints and I thank ye and the Creator for all and everything!

Yesterday I woke up after 9 hours sleep which is abnormal for me, and I was still tired. Later I spoke to a friend who could not keep her eyes open in the morning after way much sleep than usual. Today I woke up fine, but could not resist 2 hours sleep in the afternoon (no, I am not retired, just out of work). Both me and my daughter were in the bitchy mood. Realising this at dinner, we decided to have a bitching contest, everything that went on our nerves, no holding grudge. We ended up laughing.

Furthermore, I partied all day (1000 page, 20,000 posts). lol

Energies are really weird these days for all those around me, I bet for all on the planet. Egos are easily ruffled, reactions quite spontaneous, whithout much weighting.

So please, Jenci, and Ulli, think about this. To me it seems to be all or none - it has to be exactly what one's expect or nothing at all, while life is full of grey areas, which in fact is great, because there resides the possibilities of choice.

At my age, I realised that most often it is really unecessary to cut off all ties (unless being very emotionally dependent). Very rarely this has to be done. Most of the time when cutting ties, it creates more damage to oneself than anything else. And, most often, dismembered ties are the result of faulty communications when between people of good will. No more than this.

Ok, mom (me) has finished speaking...

The other night I found myself watching an hour long "Ultimate Fails!" type video on Youtube. I was incredibly inspired -- far more than the amount of inspiration I thought I would feel (which was about none).

But to see people failing that hard means these people either had to have to:

    1) TRY that hard or
    B) BE that motivated.

Without one of those two factors -- most of those fails wouldn't even have happened. (outside of "scared that stupid", or "paid that much")

Who has that level of either of those two qualities?

    My tribute .. To fails

When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

Beyond synchronicity, Free Will, that is one of my top five albums all time. When I was a young boy, out of all of my father's albums I would listen to the Neil Young Unplugged as I went to sleep for years on end. I have all of Neil's albums, but I haven't pinpointed why that one affects me most. It's sentimental, I know, but I will allow myself that. The music is just too good. The other (highly sentimental) album that I put myself to sleep to when I was an adolescent was Roger Water's "Pros and Cons of Hitchikiing. To this day, those two albums comprise two out of my top five. Thanks!

To clarify, so there are no more misunderstandings:
I would like to remind everyone who feels that this thread is a platform for teaching their religious beliefs
especially if this is done with the aim to criticize, correct, or fine-tune the beliefs of others
that this is not in the spirit of the Here and Now thread.

While it is perfectly ok to share something spiritual that one feels was inspiring to them,
there is a difference between such sharing and preaching or holding teaching seminars.

Furthermore, to set out to solve people's issues by giving specific advice,
which all of us been doing and which I have been ok with,
but then to tell other that this is not done, I call that hypocrisy.
Pease do not start criticizing the methods of others
just because in your opinion they don't reach down deep enough.

Ok, now that I'm done with religion I'm ready for the political debate.

    Grateful for freewill and choice.
I've had a lot of planetary squares and oppositions for the last couple months. Not a few I mean a lot 13 14 at a time with a trine or conjunction thrown in to keep me from completely going insane. I took a few salt water baths, took it easy and didn't socialize very much during that time. lol.
Right now I have 4 planets trine the moon & 4 Uranus and Pluto trine 4 planets. Besides the fact I feel like my eye balls are going to pop out of my head, currently, here and now my world would probably scare the XXXX out of most people. All I can say is that I am very grateful for everyone of the villagers, some former members (you know who you are) and for the lurkers.

Happy 20,000 posts and 1,000 pages -amazing

    Love

Jesus, as much as I love Buddhists, it's the Westerners who keep missing the point the Buddha wanted to make who need the whack of the One hand!
A lot of people (both Eastern and Western) assume Buddha was talking about self-improvement, but I would offer that he was pointing to something quite different. We find all sorts of therapies these days that try to incorporate elements of Eastern mysticism, particularly in the psychological field, and there is of course nothing wrong with eclecticism in pursuit of wellness. However, if one examines the fundamentals of Buddhism, it becomes apparent that the core message is not at all about attaining some sort of physical longevity, or even some sense of healthy and well-adjusted ego. Rather, it's about penetrating the fiction of the separate self altogether. No matter how we try to manipulate it, Buddha notes that life itself is stressful, dissatisfying -- Dukkha. The reason it is, is because we attach to and then fixate on provisional identities, self-images, that are impermanent, and which are spawned by craving and aversion. The only way to go beyond this sense of suffering is to understand and see through the viscious cycle of desire and fear that creates a sense of "me" in need of fixing, protecting, preserving, redeeming, and ascending.

Of course, this does not mean one should just ignore their body and let it fall apart. That is just another form of ignorance. The body is a marvelous vehicle with which to experience this realm, and needs proper maintainence to achieve optimum functionality. That is part of Right Living (which I spoke about in a post not long ago). The art of life is finding balance between the recognition of our true and prior nature and divine identity, and the functionality of the physical biological instrument with which we've been blessed (in whatever form it appears) by Source so IT can experience life through us in our own unique form, even if that form happens to be other than the propagandized ideal of glowing and trouble-free psycho-physical health and well-being. In fact, inspecting the motives for the efforts expended on trying to have it conform to some ideal can be quite illuminating, which is what I believe Jeanette was pointing to in her essays on the subject.

    Blessings!
Another Bob, although I truly enjoy your poems and your wisdom, I find it difficult to follow you on the path of Buddhism when so many words have to be used to show it. You see, for me the path of truth is often unexplainable in words,(sometimes Carmody does not answer my questions, I bet it is because it is unexplainable, or based on my ego mind) or yet so simple that it only needs a few words. Otherwise we get lost in the mind.

I went to a buddhist meditation place this summer. Although my experience is limited, I noticed, when we had the chats in the afternoons on the meditative processes, that most were immersed in their mind. I had all the trouble in the world to just explain, from the mind, that the answer is not there. I even said, at one point, out of desperation, that "our mind are crazy, our minds are nuts, don't rely on them". Dazed eyes looked at me.

Then I proceeded with the heart, because I bet anything that the key is there. They did not catch. I had to explain how I felt for my daughter for them to start catching. One asked me if it had been a burden to help her, my answer: no, there is no burden, it is centered in the heart. Physical and emotional tiredness maybe, but no burden.

I have not learned this through Buddhist teachings Another Bob. Just through life, difficult times, and teachings focused on the heart. It makes things soooooo much clearer.

To clarify, to my personal understanding...None of this is about saving others, it never was. It is about one clearing themselves. The level of energy it takes to get past the personal barrier is as big as the block in the mind, the idea of self, as reflection. The trap is subtle, and persistent. The road is circuitous, as the mind makes it so. A route that is as convoluted and twisted and hidden in a way that is big and as intense as the will to drive it out. The mind takes time to change, thus it cannot be completed, as paths go, in the form of a quick fix. no free rides no quick fixes, no shortcuts. No avenues will be left unexplored, as the mind will go there and into them as a form of escape from the primary task as avoidance techniques. Up to and including the idea of being heart centered as an overdriven falsification.... as a way to block the mind from an actual turning to the task at hand. It will generally take years of direct unrelenting dedication to explore all the false paths, until one turns to the real task in the right kind and way of surrender, that it takes to get there.

Another way to say it is that none of the monks at the monastery would ever directly help a person fix themselves. The person will be shown the answer in themselves, by themselves. That they will have to find the way in themselves to break their hold on everything that is in them. It is a fire sale. Everything must go. Everything.

I have not learned this through Buddhist teachings Another Bob. Just through life, difficult times, and teachings focused on the heart. It makes things soooooo much clearer.

    Hiya Flash!

    Thank you for your comments.

First of all, concluding that Buddhists are all in the head while you are in the heart is an absurd caricature, especially after such a limited exposure. Humans are basically all the same, wanting mostly just to love and be loved, and then complicating their lives in pursuit of that in myriad ingenious and troublesome ways.

Moreover, I will share with you that I am not a Buddhist, and agree that there is a different path for each one of us. The only reason I attempted to clarify the core Buddhist message was in response to Ulli's misrepresentation of Buddhism and its adherents, as well as her provocative slam at Jeanette's comments, which were also apparently misperceived.

I'll say no more on either subject, and let the celebration of a thousand pages proceeed, speaking of words.

Thanks Carmody, quite clear. And quite beliefs balloon bursting.

One of the steps involved in getting there involves the aspect of empathy, which can be the dedication to the idea and ideal of helping others. But only a step to be realized that exists as a step. It isn't the final destination in self clearing.

That is a bit of a tough rubycon to cross, especially for women and empathy, one might say. But that is a generalization. A generalization on the subject of Female Vs male avatar, in this specific model of incarnation.

Empathy is a natural aspect of finding enlightenment, as they call it.... for it allows for, in clear thought, a form of internalization that can be viewed as both other and self. Both externalization and internalization. It allows for the process of self forgiveness and forgiveness of and to all, for sins that do not exist.

This one's words can never be the perfect answer or shaping of considerations for another, as questions and answers go. For they, these questions and answers... in the end, can and may add to the problem of the mind's avoidance techniques as a form of entering into a circular form of escape.

The circular argument is either external, or internal, it remains the same. And in the end point, avoidance is finally exhausted. Avoidance..which ends up being the source of the issue of seeming excessive wordiness and excessive thought.

I could say more, but that may only muddy the waters.

Gentle hints to move 'mind' along to it's ultimate point of getting past the avoidance ...of finding the door that is in the self.

    Very good.
The externalization of an argument (or strong viewpoint), magnifies, manifests and exposes ones wounds and vulnerability which becomes the inner journey/healing.

I see my reflection in the perceived peaceful pond of ponderence

Yes, never forget that it is all about you, all of it.
