Glad you are up and about, Carmody. Do you need healing energy too?

I'm getting ready to go on a fun little shopping trip during my lunch hour. Looking for knitting yarn with my knitting pal.
I'm good, I'm fine. don't really need any pain medication, either.

I explained my exact physical and mental condition to the anesthesiologist, right before. I told him that I was utterly exhausted, and had maybe 4-4.5 hours sleep per night for the 4-5 preceding nights. That I would go under quite easily. That frankly, I could use the few hours sleep in post op. He managed to hit the nail right on the head with a perfect dosing. Which, is apparently -not easy to do. Most people have an anesthesia hangover that lasts days. I bounced out... and was off and running again.

Carmody, I am also feeling the sting and pain of a hernia repair. Now, as I shuffle to one side the pain subsides. The pain medication has Tylenol, so I am avoiding it as long as I can. My daughter has my attention anyway, telling of her mysterious room. Her light bulbs unscrew themselves and flicker out. She knows that she can screw them back in as soon as the apparition makes it's entrance and exit. I look to her mom for her reaction, stoic and cynical as she is, and surprisingly she says sheepishly, "I saw something out of the corner of my eye last night" Ouch that position hurts. Oh, watch out, the new puppy wants in my lap. He's a cute little bugger. Can't believe we have so many pets. The pasta water is boiling. Clams and linguine. The dogs have begun to smell it.

Sounds like you are doing very well post-op Carmody. It's amazing how you are up and about so quickly. I have a close friend whom had a similar surgery just weeks ago - he took it easy but unfortunately got an infection. He is fine now.
Happy to hear Kitty is mending well.
Nice tent Modwiz.. looks very comfy and peaceful. I was just thinking how beautiful the stars would be sitting outside your tent. I gently dragged my tired husband up our long drive last night so we could get a better look at the stars - so bright and very beautiful. The night air was gorgeous..
I am not a healer but send love and positive thoughts to Curtis.

Happy healing Conk generally takes a few days for the swelling to ease; then the pain will settle down.
The apparition sounds interesting - we had one too. A positive experience for us.
Congratulations on your new puppy.. is that three doggies now?
Mmm.. I am thinking about your pasta cooking.. sounds delicious!

This one makes four. Gasp! Fortunately, the women of the house are fanatical housekeepers. The dogs are all small and don't shed much. Funny too, how the dogs will stop suddenly, as if frozen in time, and stare down the hallway. The entities are moving around, as the sun is going down. I tell the older daughter she's lucky we aren't fundamentalisit christians or we'd have her staked in the back yard. She's attuned to the mysteries. The clams are good, not like diner rubber band soup.

I am laughing at your post Conk - the rubber band clams and staking your daughter in the back yard! haha
You reminded me of my own little dog 'Ellie' whom did that very thing night before last. She stopped suddenly and stared straight down the hall.. there was no reason for it that I 'could see'. I smiled - pretty sure that would be our late uncle.. happens now and then. He was very close to us and passed unexpectedly. Interesting this came up as I have been reminded of him three times today - synchronicity

Great dreams guys, and what a nice tent Modwiz has. And I'm going to ask my angel to take me on a flying dream where I can raid Junebug's pantry and visit Pickle in NW England and go dancing with Ernie and get some healing session from Modwiz, have coffee with Sierra in San Francisco, hang out with Rahkyt and get to play with PurpleLama's nine cats. The next night I want to meet Astrid and spend all night yapping astro with her. While I'm down under I'm also going to fly over to NZ and say hi to Carmen and another friend who lives near Auckland but havent seen since 1983 though kept in touch all these years. Flying dreams are so much more eco friendly than AA jet planes. And not to forget Rocky who vanished from the forum and who is busy on a San Diego beach holding California steady. And LisaB who is going to take me over to Dave Edmund's recording studio for a memory lane walk. Quite a travel schedule. Can I bring Kitty?
I insist you bring Kitty (aka Spinsty)! I might even kidnap Kitty ... (just cause I need her to hold California steady ...) (You believe me, right?) (Aw rats, Ulli doesn't believe me ...)

It is 10:05 am here, I don't have my hearing aids on, but I can hear traffic. Only the Juncos and Common House Finches have shown up. Still waiting for the Titmousies, Nuthatches and Chickadees to come for the walnuts and sunflower seeds. The sunlight is hitting the wisteria and redwood tree now, who have decided to entangle themselves in each other. I drink my coffee and wait for more birdies.

For all the aches and pains out there, I give my intent to heal Carmody, enough with the bricks for a day or so!

Modwiz, your tent is gorgeous. And with Return of the King? Too cool!

Whales and dolphins surfing the land and sea and air, oh how multidimensional is that!

Dancing in my dreams to come ... with Choochoo Bear
Golly gosh, what I'd give to smell wisteria just one more time....there was a huge plant outside my childhood window and I used to drink in the perfume every summer.
Although they have something similar here in Costa Rica it has no fragrance.
Coffee flowers smell nice but nothing like a wisteria.
I wonder what Choochoo Bear and Spinsty would make of your birdies...

In the cool of the evening ... the windows are open and the air smells wonderful like warm earth and dewey vegetation ... chirpy bug noises of some sort, crickets I guess? I imagine Modwiz gets to enjoy this every night from his HP-like tent palace.

I got a hair cut this evening with a new stylist, and she did a nice job. I love it.

Ulli and all, please do stop by my kitchen/pantry ANYTIME. I promise not to push too many vegetables on anybody. We might even find some ice cream in the freezer...

My friend found her crimson yarn for knitting a hat. I'm not inspired to knit anything right now...still too much in my head... tai chi appeals...and listening to Aretha Franklin...and just pondering my life.

What's everyone doing for entertainment/relaxation lately?

PS: Ulli, I love wisteria too. Remember the outdoor scene from Stepford Wives, the book club meeting? There was an overhead trellis with wisteria running all over it, so beautiful. I intend to have something like that outside the walk-out basement door with a little patio and seating.

    Hi Junebug,
I love Aretha Franklin, she is one of the 'greats'.
I spent most of today helping my daughter make table decorations for her best friend's wedding. We had fun putting things together but ate too many of the cherry flavored jelly beans!
She left to help decorate the wedding cake - her friend's hobby and soon to be business.
Just now able to relax.. but am distracted by Ellie (little dog) snoring in her bed nearby. Otherwise all is quiet and cozy. Good night everyone.

How fun to work on wedding decorations with your daughter, especially with jelly beans to eat.
Lots of creative energy in decorating cakes...my daughter-in-law does that too -- she uses fondant 'icing' to cover the cake, and they turn out gorgeous. She made one in the shape of a blue Volkswagen Golf for my son's BD, really cute.
I miss having a snoring dog in the room!
    Good night Caren... sweet dreams!

Up too early, sleep cycle is a bit off. I hear the wind outside ... stepped out to the porch ... trees are blowing around but no rain.

I need to do some meditation to help me see things clearly ... I think I can do it now because I really need to. Does anyone have a really simple suggestion? As I recall, it's just getting the body quiet and still, and letting thoughts slip away as they come up, acknowledge and let go. Is that basically it? Never been real good at it, but going to approach it with renewed enthusiasm.

    Love to all

Meditation: If this doesn't get you too distracted.... I think of the happiest moments in life, then give thanks for them... kinda gets me in the right frame of mind to begin.

Its done best without enhusiasm, without attitude, only awareness of what is. No strain.
Just notice stuff you would normally ignore, mundane stuff.
Notice physical sensations, but make no judgement.
Still dark here, just after five am. Kitten is so much better and enjoying every minute of its recovery.
