Crashed into my glass door earlier tonight.
What a blow to my face.
It felt as if I had broken my nose.
Was rushing with last minute preparations as guests were on their way to visit us.
Didn't see that the door to the kitchen from the outside terrace was shut.
Duh!!
Husband still with a patient at his office.
Managed to make it to the freezer and get an ice pack, then to the nearest mirror, saw that I had blood all over my face, then felt sorry for myself and wondered why people go into sports like wrestling of boxing.

Now guests and husband talking amongst themselves, me with plaster on my nose, and two black eyes, needing to call the Villagers for support.

Thank you all for your kindness. Feeling much better, although a bit sore.
And a bit grumpy, and annoyed at myself.
Just a few hours before that I had thought about being finally in the clear, with that yearlong Uranus square finally fading, and also last week's Mars square Saturn behind me. Too soon.

I was reminded of an image from the IChing, about a fox crossing an iced-up lake and listening to the cracking sound, and just as he gets to the shore he relaxes too soon, breaks through the ice, and so he gets his tail wet.

Making a fresh resolve to remain more mindful and alert.

Oh Ulli, you made me think of a story from my childhood. (I was probably 5 or 6 years old.)

There was a brand name of "sneakers"/tennis shoes called "PF Flyers" that were the rage. The television advertising was effective on me, and the superhero-like tag line, "P F Flyers awayyyyyyy!" was part of my vocabulary. Well, the gods smiled on me, and I got a pair! I laced them up and immediately ran through the house. When I got to a glass door I must have thought was open, I shouted, "P F Flyers awayyyyyyy!" and ran right through the glass door.

Not a scratch.

So, the lesson is not to let the glass stop you. hehehhee

p.s. Sorry this happened to you, Ulli, and I'm glad you weren't badly injured.

It’s official. I’m an owner an old lady car. (sorry for the politically incorrect language) It’s one of those car that’s in pristine condition aside from the bird seed bag that busted open this past winter. It’s her birthday this month. She turned 13.

Today, I circled the driveway so I could watch the odometer go to 70,000. I expected that it’d slowly roll but it flipped like a digital clock. Anti-climatic.

25% of those miles were add awhile I was still part of the tick-tock-world. There was a time when I’d rack up 70,000 miles in 1 1/2 - 2 years. My job was only 30 miles round trip. So much running away. Back then I labeled those miles self-improvement or mental health or training or certification this, certification that. Now most of it I no longer use or relate to. Guess it was needed to get to this place on the journey.

The previous owners of our house had colored stickers at eye level on the glass doors that go out to the decks, so I'm guessing one of them crashed into the door at some point.

When I was around 8 or 9 I got it in my head that I was gonna do a back flip. Was very spontaneous....I have no idea where the thought came from.

Anyway, I was terrified and therefore not fully committed. I landed very awkwardly on my neck. I heard a terrible crunch when it happened. I laid there for several mins in terror, afraid to move. But lo n behold, I walked off, no worse for wear really. A miracle in my book. 1 inch one way or the other and i'd have likely been crippled for life....all because of a silly compulsion.

Brilliant, funny, and quite true.
I have Mercury in Aquarius, and my gardener has it in Leo. So, yes, there is tension,
with refular amnesia about who is boss, and subsequent reminders.
