Blessings for your beautiful Veldean, Ernie.

May she connect with divine source, and may deep healing unfold.

    How moving :

Quote Posted by Ernie Nemeth (here)
I have dreamed about Valdi since my early twenties. Always the same woman, always the same face. And when I first saw her, at 45, it was from across the parking lot a long way away. I was intrigued. A few months later I would meet her face to face, those beautiful violet eyes, that tiny girl, I was smitten.

So back in my 20s, having these haunting dreams of my soul mate, I wrote this poem.

    Quote Another Day Without You

I woke up with a void in my heart
My mind still reeling from our encounter
Last night in my dreams we met we touched
Only our souls intertwined in reality
I hope that one day my dream comes true
And there will be no more days without you.

    I wander around uninterested unmoved
‘Cause you’re not here, and I don’t know where...

Now its finally o’er, this faceless day
And my mind is eager for sleep
For again in my dreams we’ll meet, we’ll touch
And somewhere our souls will be one
I hope that some day soon my dream comes true
And there will be no more days without you!
Thank you for your replies and your concern. I am moved.

I am feeling like I am hogging this thread. I don't want others to think that they should not post here until this is resolved.

This is my here and now, just one story among many equally valid and important ones. So post away.

Today was not a good day. I had a run in with the nurse taking care of my Valdi, who took issue with not being told there was a visitor for her patient. She would not address me and instead went stomping of to give the ICU desk person ****. Left there waiting, I felt very out of place and very embarrassed for being singled out like that. After, she would not talk to me or tell me how Val was doing.

I put my coat back on and was about to leave. But I wnated to be with Val. So I stopped and said loudly, are you all just going to let me leave? Everyone quickly looked away...and I left. Went back later but was turned away twice.

Anyways, I did not get to see her today at all but I hear from other family who visited that she is awake. Can you imagine? She is awake and I wasn't there!

So I went back a third time but I was far too upset by then so when they turned me away twice more I just came home. I'll try again tomorrow. Sure wish I had a third setting between peaceful and ready for war but I don't.

Do not feel this way, Ernie.

Your circumstances are very serious and you need all of the support you can get. This is no trivial matter and it is wise of you to be connecting with others.

I do hope you get to see her today. Be very assertive with the staff members until they let you see her or schedule you an exact time.

    Sending healing energy you way,

    Rebecca

    Hi!
Val was taken off life-support. She came to greatly agitated. She was trying to say something. We couldn't understand. She kept trying to be understood. Finally she took a deep breath and blurted out, 'Max!'. 'How is Max the cat?', she was asking...
    Val's back! Oh joy!

Yay!!! This made my heart happy. I am excited for all of you to have gotten through this! It is so funny for her to ask about Max the cat hahaha.

I pray she continues healing and the three of you can celebrate!

Thanks for all your wonderful replies. It truly means a lot to me and Val.

I just wanted to publicly thank my daughter, Elysia, who, although she has two small children to take care of, took the time to be with me in my time of need. She also called me numerous times for updates and emotional support. I almost cannot believe how well we raised that remarkable woman! May God bless you and your beautiful family for all the years to come...

Val is not out of the woods yet. There has to date been no exact cause of her illness, except for deep pneumonia that was probably a secondary infection. She is responding to treatments but is still far from being allowed to go home. I am so glad she is in hospital with the very best of care. This is not the type of illness that is at all treatable on an out-patient basis - which is the way it has been treated for the past four months. Another bunch of specialists are lining up to treat her and try and determine the cause of her illness.

They are taking out the IV in her neck today and they will get her mobile - out of her bed for her first walk to the chair a few paces away. They don't want her muscles to atrophy. She also just started eating again - that's always fun. Her insides are completely empty so it hurts starting it back up again.

All in all we are happy with her progress but as for the prospect of being healed...we'll have to wait and see.

Dealing with a very difficult situation at the moment.

For several years now, someone close to me has been enduring chemotherapy. The doctors involved incorrectly diagnosed her as being clear years ago, even though her body was telling her something was wrong. Many months later they corrected their mistake and identified the cancer, at which point it was stage 3.

Had it been caught earlier, as it should have been, she might have opted for only alternative treatments (high dose intravenous vitamins etc.) But being given, suddenly, such a late stage diagnosis she felt overwhelmed and thought maybe it required something 'tougher' via mainstream medicine. So she placed herself in its hands.

She lost her long feminine hair. They took her breasts in a double mastectomy. Her womb in a hysterectomy. Drugs and more drugs. Now, years later, her body completely exhausted, the doctor has told her she may have a rare and even harsher form of breast cancer than she had before. She called me tonight, in agony. She has pain all over her body like a burning sensation and pins and needles, 24/7. They are not sure what is causing it. And she waits, living alone, going to work to pay her bills and getting further into U.S. medical debt, to have more tests and hear more results.

Through all of this, I reach out to people who are her family, and they don't really want to know. She asked two days ago if I would fly to her country to help pack up her belongings, if she makes the decision to stop treatment, as she told me in tears that if the diagnosis gets worse she is not sure she can cope with any more. I emailed members of her family two days ago. No one responded. One even said earlier in the process things like “we're not even sure she has cancer.” Despite having been sent medical documents and a photo of her in a hospital bed, looking gaunt and frail, like a concentration camp victim.

I know they don't have the tools to deal with it. Being between them has literally given me grey hairs. I do what I can to let go of what is not mine. But sometimes it still makes me sad, when people deal with their own guilt by attacking the messenger, and abandoning the person who is ill.

Western medicine, in certain ways, does not deal with illness well. And Western culture, in certain ways, is not well equipped at facing death - or situations that remind us of mortality. Of course, It depends on the individuals involved. Some are stronger than others.

If you feel you can spare a prayer, without knowing more details, then I thank you for it. You do not need to write anything in response. Just a prayer, from the heart, to wish her what is in alignment with her highest good in alignment with source.

That is my wish – for the bond between her and source to be strengthened.

    Perhaps it can help.

Oh sweety, first off, I so feel you there....

First off, you are so right, our western culture is not only sooooooo ill equipped to deal with the mere prospects of death and dying, we are afraid to even look it in the eye so to speak, much less attempt to try and gain even cursory understandings of it beyond the usual heaven/hell aspects.

Dealing with a very difficult situation at the moment.
My sincere thanks to everyone who offered prayer, meditation or healing towards the situation described in my post above.

I want to share with you that I heard from the lady today. She had more energy than when we last spoke and told me that a doctor who ran tests with her on Monday said the diagnosis may not be as bad as they originally feared. She also told me that she had had an unexpectedly good-natured conversation with a family member today, with whom communication had previously been difficult.

I believe in the power of prayer, and I am grateful, from the heart, to all of you who were able to offer your intent towards her healing.

    Thank you.
