I don't know if anyone posted it on this thread, Try Melatonin it works for me. Its natural and does the job. Hope it Helps.
I have been using a combination of 4-5mgs of Melatonin and a cup of warm to hot Chamomile tea every night right before bed for years. It is the only thing that puts me to sleep. Also, it is important to establish your own individual circadian rhythm. This is the point or time, at which your body will allow you to go to sleep. For instance, I cannot go to sleep and stay asleep throughout the night, before 10:30 PM. Any time after 10:30 PM is fine. I also cannot drink coffee or tea after 1:00 PM in the afternoon. If I do, I'm starring at the ceiling. Wine always allows me to fall asleep, but I am then jolted awake around 1:00 AM and cannot-cannot go back to sleep.

There are some great suggestions on this thread. Try a few. Combine a few, until you find that which helps you.

You also have to consider that there are great energies flowing into us from the 11/11/11 influx. These are energetic energies that are giving us a boost and are helping us to cleanse old unwanted memories and bad habits from within. They will intensify. So try and find some good sleep practices and stick with them.

    Hello toothpick

Quote Sorry to hear about your troubles Tigahawk.
I,m afraid all I can do is understand and have sympathy.
I don,t ever remember having a full nights sleep.
When i was a newly wed 36 or so years ago I would have to wait till she went to sleep then get up and do something , anything.
Just lying in bed tryng to get to sleep is absolute torture to me, get up and read a book, go for a walk, anything, but, just laying there staring into the dark is just like suffering to me.
I have come to grips with it over the years, so has my family.
It is very simple for me, don,t fight against mother nature.
For whatever rymn or reason i am nocturnal, always have been, and thats ok.
Exactly the same for me for a very long time - I take sleeping tablets but they just do not work. The night before last I was awake all night and had to take my son to another town early the following morning and arriving home late afternoon I tried to sleep again to no avail. Last night fresh from the shower I had a full glass of Southern Comfort and a sleeping tablet - fell asleep after about an hour until 8:30 this morning - my first night's sleep for months and it feels great! I feel much empathy for any other insomniacs and my heart goes out to them - I know full well the frustration of laying there in the dark wide-awake while all around are fast asleep ...

    Best regards to all. JP

I fall asleep very easily, but cant stay asleep for long. Usually 3 or 4 hours. I used to sleep for 8-9 hrs easily not too long ago. Something has changed in my sleep patterns as well.

I'm with many of you here, I’ve been an insomniac for a good 20 years now, but lately it's just been insane.

Just to clarify last night, as a normal example:

Could not sleep, got up at around 4.30am. Made a cup of tea, then sat in front on TV on low volume reading for a while until I felt sleepy. Went back to bed about 6am. Got up again at 7am. No good, still couldn’t sleep! Cannot shut off my mind, cannot get comfortable, and I still don't feel that tired! Felt like another tea and a bite to eat so I got up. More reading with TV in the background. Soon it was 8am, with daylight streaming in through the curtains. Went back to bed, and finally got off to sleep for a few hours about 9ish (it being a saturday it didn’t matter so much).

This has been a repeating pattern lately (and I too worked shifts, for ten years until I quit a couple of months ago), so I’ve always blamed it on that, but increasing energies at this time might also be a reason why the problem has suddenly worsened. I know I should exercise more, improve diet etc, but whatever the cause I know all your pain. It really is very frustrating, and in a particularly bad period I resort to sleeping pills.

How is your sleep now? Anything work?
I'm with Snowbird on the melatonin & hot tea advice. If chamomile doesn't work well enough try valerian root tea (that's what I'm using now). If I take one of my 300mcg melatonin pills, drink it down with a hot cup of valerian root tea, I am out in less than an hour, stay asleep at least 6 hours, & do not feel groggy at all the next day. The only thing I complain about with the melatonin is that after taking it every night for 7-10 days straight, it seems to lose its potency. So I usually just take it every other night instead of every night now.

If i cant sleep at night, i always have good luck if i go to bed as dawn is breaking... if i wait until the sun is up, its far less effective. no idea why.

As you don't seem to feel tired Tigahawk I would just go with the flow and not worry about it at all. There are loads of things to do with the extra time instead of lying there wide awake worrying why you're not sleeping. This is what happened to me a couple of years ago - lasted a couple of years too - and now that it's gone and I get regular sleep I miss the extra time I could devote to my hobbies ! So I would say enjoy it while you can.

This is a list of herbs that assist in sleep.

Valerian (can get a tincture which you squirt into your mouth)
    Lime leaves
    Passion Flower

These can be mixed, but start with Valerian. If you cannot get the tincture, make a tea out of the herb with boiling water, put a lid on it for 5 minutes then drink. Usually, it works within 20 minutes.
ktlight is right the herbs above work very well. you can also ask your spirit helpers (guides) to help you please sleep - when you are going to sleep. also saying a short mantra like "relax and sleep" over and over again may help.

You should command your body to sleep. Just keep saying 'sleep' to yourself, having taken a cup of Valerian tea which brings about a healing sleep, and you wake up without grogginess.

Hi all, i used to suffer from not being able to sleep until i tried Valerian Root ( in tablet form available in any health store or online).

I would take one tablet, about half an hour before bed, and have a really good nights sleep.

I dont take it anymore and still can sleep wonderfully.

Below is some information about the root, feel free to do your own research too

    Introduction to Valerian:
Valerian is a hardy perennial flowering plant with sweet-smelling pink or white flowers. The name Valerian means “to be strong or healthy” in Latin, and this translation is generally regarded to refer to its medicinal use, though it is suggested that it also refers to the strong odor.

Valerian is native to Europe, South Africa, and parts of Asia and was introduced to North America. Ancient Greeks used the plant for a variety of medical disorders ranging from liver problems, digestive ailments, and urinary tract disorders to nausea and insomnia. Valerian has also been used for centuries for nervous conditions and has been traditionally used for sleeplessness, epilepsy, nervousness, hysteria and as a diuretic.

    Common Uses:
Valerian has often been used in complementary and alternative medicine for its sedative properties. It has been recommended for epilepsy but that has not been supported by modern research. Currently, the herb is mainly used as a remedy for insomnia.

I can understand and empathize with everyone here.

Sleeping is beyond difficult for many reasons... at an energetic, spiritual, and physical level. I've been pulling 2 and 3 hours a night for a while now (with occasional blessings of 6 hour sleeping every 4 or 5 days), and it's really difficult to function in this world because of it sometimes. I have a friend who goes several nights in a row without sleeping now as well.

I'm not sure if this might help anyone, but my friend's father suffered from insomnia for about 11 years due to a construction accident. He had a saw drop 15 feet and land on his head in 2000 and as a result, could only sleep in about 5 minute spurts. The doctors thought it might be neurological, but found no fool proof way to resolve it. He tried everything from eastern to western medicine... and nothing offered a permanent solution.

Until he started taking this suppliment called "New You". It's an all organic suppliment aimed at detoxing the body, and restoring natural function to the petuitary gland. After about a week of taking it, he started getting about 6 hours of sleep each night... and after 3 months of taking it, he's feeling extremely blessed to have stumbled upon it. He's even seen lean muscle mass restored (he had to buy all new shirts because of this! haha ) and has so much energy and clarity. He owns an alternative healing clinic locally here, and was so moved by his results that he started selling the vitamins himself. I talked my father into giving it a shot, and his results are almost identical.

If you guys are interested at all, it's worth looking into!
I actually started taking New You about two days ago (as I'm now distributing the product line myself, haha! Us 23 year olds gotta eat somehow! ) so, we'll see what it does for me.

I hope we all find some meditative recharge soon. Best of luck to everyone!

Whatever type of sandwich you like or salad, load it with raw onions slice or slices, which brings on natural body chemicals stimulating relaxation and sleep. It can't hurt. I usually try a fried baloney sandwich with lettuce tomatoe and a slice of onion.

    Happy sleeping.
