    Strongest so far (no data):

    For the day:

Frequencies spectrogram, the vertical streaks indicate “events” (tremors/EQs) whereas the horizontal ones reflect volcanic/magmatic activity:
Quote From Wikipedia: A Harmonic tremor is a sustained release of seismic and/or infrasonic energy typically associated with the underground movement of magma and/or venting of volcanic gases from magma. Being a long-duration continuous signal from a temporally extended source, a volcanic tremor contrasts distinctly with transient sources of seismic radiation, such as tremors that are typically associated with earthquake and explosion.

How is El Hierro looking like, now:

For the last 10 days, it now shows whatever Polly is up to as far as seismic activity is concerned:

New cumulative graph starting October 10, 2011. The continuously changing scales keeps compressing the earlier graphs to the bottom and to the left!

New video from Qstar-SOS Oceanos posted on their site with the accompanying text that's translated in post #2002 showing the goodies from ROV "Wall-E"'s dives:

    QSTARslu comment:

In the 2nd attempt [we] almost lost out Wall-E .. because the visibility was very poor, with strong currents and we could barely control the vehicle.

While the Harmonic Tremor is "defluffing" like a sparrow after a dust bath, a new stain spot was observed by Joke Volta yesterday morning as reported on Earthquake-report.com and a Jacuzzi could be distinguished for a while in spite of poor "Calima" visibility compounded by pixellation following constant refocus of the webcam autofocus:

    SOCIETY - 23/03/2012 (17:48 pm)

Public Health confirms that the beach at La Restinga is suitable for swimming

    DIARIOELHIERRO.ES, writing (23.03.2012. 14:17 pm)
The City of El Pinar de El Hierro said today that the area of the The Calmas Sea'' is optimal for swimming.'' So says the Consistory in a statement after requesting a report on the waters of La Restinga.

As explained by the Consistory in a statement, "this initiative is the gap in the recommendation of Pevolca advising not swimming.''

According to the City, "the report of the Inspectorate of Public Health concluded that drinking water supplies for the population in the municipality of El Pinar are ''suitable for consumption,'' as swimming areas of the municipality are'' suitable for swimming, without establishing any health recommendation," he says.

Therefore, the mayor of the municipality, Juan Miguel Padrón Brito said that "we have taken a step in order to recover and implement the arrival of tourists to our town, especially considering we are at the gates of Holy Week ".

    Hi Amzer Zo,

I have to commend you on staying on top of this eruption!! Do you think it is going to be like the one in Hawaii that is basically non stop active?? Just wondering as it certainly doesn't seem like it is going to stop bubbling anytime soon

Hi sandy and thanks for the commend!

The Hawaii model would be my best bet in the matter since both are the results of hot spots/mantle plumes, whereas Iceland sits on a MOR (Mid Ocean Ridge, Atlantic one in that case).

    Thanks for the summery sound...

Actually, these "drumbeats" were a mix of the Sarmiento de Gamboa airguns blasts (for its sismic surveys) and hydromagmatic bursts (see post # 1695 and compare with video upload date).

Well, it seems like most stations have been off line since 9 pm yesterday... no idea when they'll resume?

Accordingly, no idea either on how the Maule, Chile 7.2 EQ looks like on the La Gomera seismogram.
