We do have a massive sunspot (150,000 km wide) crossing the center of the solar disk as we speak. It's like earth is looking down the barrel of a cocked pistol. The probability of an X class flare coming from that particular sunspot is at 63% as of right now. I am not fearful, but a reasonably rational amount of caution is healthy I think.

Excellent post and thank you for the sources (in particular the Bradford Uni site, very useful).

The sun spot mentioned by Vivek is 'Active Region 1302' (aka AR1302) and it is coming into an earth facing position.

This is not a threat ATM however there are reports of additional CME's having been released on the 25th and one of these is possibly going to impact the Earths magnetosphere causing geomagnetic storm activity of varied intensity between the 28th and 29th (UT).

This is observable science.

There is also somewhat tentative evidence that there is an effect on earthquake and volcanic activity related to geomagnetic disturbances.
I am NOT saying that geomagnetic disturbances cause earthquakes etc, rather that there is a possibility that it could be a contributing factor leading to conditions under which an earthquake might occur.
Remember: "Correlation does not lead to causation".

In relation to Bill's OP.
I have no problem with anyone saying what they feel they need to say at any time. Call it 'fear porn', call it 'fear mongering', call it what it is 'personal truth speaking'.

If more said their piece and allowed others to say theirs, the world might be a better place.

Yes she is -- she's heading up to Northern California with a couple of friends for a few days off after the immense hard work of the conference and all its months of preparation.

This was not a deliberate "escape from LA": more a synchronicity the significance of which she was well aware of when she spoke with me on the phone this afternoon. But earlier (before the conference, when she told me her own 'whistleblower' story), she told me that she had no intention of leaving.

Interesting! I have been talking to a friend (that lives in LA) about feeling that something is up, something is in the air, for over a week now...and just last night. He said several of his friends have been discussing the feeling that something is stirring as well.

I just havenʻt been able to shake the feeling...so I headed over here to see if anyone else was picking up on it. Guess so! Iʻm supposed to fly out of LAX in a couple of weeks and have been wondering for months if we would be able to go -- thought I was being a bit dramatic. Maybe not.

There has been a large halo visible (radius about 20 to 30 times the width of the sun) around the sun for several hours this (somewhat hazey) morning from where I see it in eastern Oz.
That said we have had some strange light from distant bushfire smoke haze. I have seen moon halos plenty of times but not sun halos as far as I recall.
I have no idea if that may or may not mean anything at all... just saying.

i'm curious why all the ****s happen in US? economy collapse in US and disasters in US. one thing we have and US don't have is Medicare. we in Australia never have any big disaster event other than Cyclone Yasi in Queensland. got me thinking for few days now these et's might live in Australia and they want nothing to happen where they live that's why nothing happen especially in NSW. if Australia isolate them self from the rest of the world that could be great.

You're forgetting the financial problems of the 80's/90's and the Asian financial crisis of the late 90's.
Cyclone Tracy in 74, Black Saturday in 2009, drought for about a decade (this is a recurring problem in Oz), massacre @ Port Arthur in '96. The list is quite long.
In this particular financial downturn Australia is doing ok, but it is more the exception than the rule.
If Oz isolated itself from the rest of the world it would, in my opinion, lead to an internal collapse of epic proportions.
No mining exports, no food imports, no medicine (Australia is almost out of penicillin at the moment due to supply shortages!), no tourism, the list goes on.
So if you were being "tongue in cheek" then good one, otherwise you may not be looking at the problems something like that could produce.

If I could choose amongst these three scenarios:

1. Nothing happens. It's unfortunate coincidental paranoia or injected propaganda designed to subtlety attack Bill and serves to discredit Avalon as fringe.

2. Something man-made was planned but has now been averted due to the light shone upon it, thus publicly discrediting Avalon while making us the secret unsung heroes.

3. Something happens. The word gets out and we get blinded by the largest spotlight on Earth. We shine.

I'd pick #3 most of the time. However, #2 is rare... #1 is most likely... A mix of #1 & #2 wouldn't surprise but we'd never know.

Here's to hoping that everything will be just fine, between the lines and all.

If I'm correct, I believe LA has been expecting a "big one" for quite some time now - in fact, many say it is overdue.

Could it be that, rather than causing a natural disaster, the PTB have in fact been suppressing one in order for the energies to be built up to be released into a much bigger disaster at a later stage?

Then, all they need do is let go of the button at the intended time and let nature run its' course.....
