Contagion (the movie) - yet another slap on the face of the Alternative Media

Hi,

Today the curiosity got the best of me so I went to see "Contagion". It was a complete waste of time, save the messages and (not so) hidden truths.

Spoiler alert. Do not read further if you plan to see the movie.

The basic message was:
- vaccines are great for your health (inoculation with a dead virus did not work, but with a live weaken one, did the trick)
- the CDC and WHO will always want what's best for you
- FEMA is here to help you in case of an emergency
- virus samples are hold in a "safe place" (in case are needed?)
- in crisis, fear thy neighbor, get a gun, and live in total isolation, everybody is out to get you
- there is a limited supply of vaccines and there's a lottery to get it (unless you know the right people)
- do not trust the alternative media that advices you not to vaccinate. If you do, you are "a crazy follower"
- the swine flu and N1H1 were a hoax (big fuss for nothing), but hey... better err on the side of safety

Along the main story there is this guy, a blogger: Alan Krumwiede. A near crazy person, with the following message:
- vaccines cause autism
- fish has mercury in it
- governments are not telling the truth about the disease
- tests done by the same people that make vaccines are obviously flawed
- CDC and WHO are in bed with the pharmaceutical industry
- the written press is dead

Alan is portrayed as an "in your face" online reporter, looking for online fame and big money. His conclusions are obviously crazy and hilarious. His alternative to the vaccines is proved to be a scam, that he uses to make millions. He is arrested in the end, but his "12 million crazy followers" bail him out. He continues to film the militia put in place to "contain" this thing.

Now I will say this: I am not of medical profession, but I've read enough about vaccines to have some big big questions about them. I understand that I am not "qualified", but I am able to think and ask questions that need answers. And I am not against vaccination, I am pro choosing if you want to vaccinate or not. I want to be able to take that risk. Who believes that the vaccine will help their immune system should also be free to use it. Keyword is free. But the excuse that one non-vaccinated child, will cause an epidemic in a vaccinated population, makes a mockery of the vaccine itself and their supposed effectiveness.

I'd also like to add that inside CDC and WHO are wonderful, heroic people, that move mountains to try to help others. I bow to you!

And I also acknowledge that there are some crazy people in the alternative media and scam artists that try to scare you into buying their products.

So, don't be fooled, and think for yourself. The matter is not as black and white as presented: the alternative media is all crazy and the official story is always true.

I immediately got bad vibes from this movie when I first saw the trailers for this movie, the over-hyped ones are always riddled with propaganda. I personally believe that there are some very dangerous people that have control of highly advanced viruses capable of wiping out specific races. Besides a catastrophic natural disaster the outbreak of a man made mega-virus is always a possibility and something to prepared for.

Oh and you should definitely submit this review to Rotten Tomatoes lol

I haven't seen the movie but the preview just tells me it's a rip off of Outbreak with a twist and a bunch of BS sprinkled in.

No one should watch that propaganda movie.

Actually, I rather enjoy indulging in the latest propaganda. Sometimes it makes me so mad I want to throw something at the t.v. that I shouldn't even be watching, but the more of it I see, the better I get at spotting it. Usually it's no more difficult than finding a kid you're playing hide and seek with, but sometimes I won't notice until later on and it's like "oh wow, that was pretty good, but ya won't fool me again with THAT one!"
