    "Australia commits Suicide"..!

    James Delingpole: October 12th, 2011

What's that you say, Skip? They've all topped themselves?

One of the worst aspects of living in these apocalyptic times is that whenever you look around the world, wondering where you might escape to, you begin to realise that everywhere else is just as bad if not worse.

Take Australia, an island built on fossil fuel with an economy dependent on fossil fuel. What would be the maddest economic policy a place like that could pursue as the world tips deeper into recession?

Why, to introduce a Carbon Tax, of course. Which, for reasons just explained above, means a tax on absobloodylutely everything. Which is exactly what Julia Gillard's Coalition (why is it that word always makes me want to reach for my Browning?) has just gone and done, obviously.

What must be particularly galling to all the Australians (the majority) bitterly opposed to this lunatic measure is the unutterable feebleness of the arguments the Coalition is using to justify it.

Here, for example, is its Chief Scientist Ian Chubb in action:

Quote "With respect to this cooling stuff, I have seen the claim, but the evidence that I have seen is that the last decade has been the warmest decade that we have ever had on this planet, so I do not know what this cooling stuff means.”
Let's just run that one by you again, in case you thought you'd been overdoing the Cane toad juice. The man who came up with that scientifically inaccurate, historically ignorant, Greenpeace-like enviro-hysteria drivel is AUSTRALIA'S CHIEF SCIENTIST.

What this lunacy will do the Australian economy Gaia only knows. But one thing's for certain: Opposition leader Tony Abbott has got the next election in the bag.

Here's what he had to say on the subject when the carbon tax package was voted in by just the tiniest of margins (74 votes to 72):

Quote “I am giving you the most definite commitment any politician can give that this tax will go. This is a pledge in blood this tax will go.

“If the bills pass today this will be an act of betrayal on the Australian public. We will repeal the tax, we can repeal the tax, we must repeal the tax.”
A promise like that, as Andrew Bolt notes, is not one he's going to find easy to break. Had he made his promise merely "Cast Iron" on the other hand…

I don't think Tony Abbott will be the solution to this mess. If I'm not wrong, Julia Gillard promised not to bring forth "Carbon Tax" before she was elected, now she is celebrating it's approval. The different parties are pushing the same agenda in different ways, same as it is in the United States. These politicians are too smart and they are way ahead of us. To them it's a chess game and to us it's just checkers, they are always a few moves ahead of us. They know how people will react so they have to plan ahead, especially with something as big as "Carbon Tax".

I just love how they also changed the name from "Carbon Tax" to "Clean Energy Future".

Seems like an agressive take over by the NWO, so many crazy things happening all over the world simultaneously, now Australia has something to protest about!

Problem is Tony Abbots solution is to go Nuclear Power; so basically we are f**ked as far as common sense goes.

One wonders if the Carbon Tax was just a plot to make that happen.

Julia has done her job. She promised there would be no carbon tax, then pushed it through.

I wonder what dirty tactics were used and on whom to make this happen.

It was a close vote if I recall.

Its historic - but for reasons Julia wont like in the end.

So what's the deal? Has our country finally showed it's true colours as an authoritarian regime?

Here's how it's played out since the last federal election campaign...

Labo(u)r's Rudd goes onto the TeeVee morning show with a dude from the Liberals named Hockey. Rudd is small, unassuming, warm, likeable, polite and a little bit progressive. Hockey is large, loud, occasionally embarrassing, but mostly warm, likeable, polite and a little bit traditional. The TeeVee shows plays the two characters off against each other as normal Aussie blokes just having a friendly discussion with the TeeVee viewer over breakfast. The contracted public relations companies behind the scenes are busily collating data and brainstorming "media strategies". Soon enough the Rudd and Hockey show becomes a regular feature for that particular TeeVee morning show.

Fast forward to the bitter US election race. Senator Barack Obama appears progressive, warm, likeable, efficient and presidential - he's also an African American which, to the US voter is a novelty in itself - adds drama and emotion to a tediously boring political process. The people of America either love or hate Obama - there is no visible middle ground. He wins the US election riding on the back of slogans which promote community and justice and other feelgoodie words carefully selected by his public relations team. The United States now has a President who appears progressive and most of all - he's from an ethnic minority AND has a Muslim surname (which coincidentally rhymes nicely with "Osama"). Whether intentionally or not, Obama's ascent to the Presidency polarises the US population. Some love him because he's progressive and is living proof that the United States is indeed a "Melting Pot". Some loathe him because he's "commie" and he's a black man with a "Mooselimb" name. Is this polarisation of the United States population into clearly defined left and right political lanes an accident? I don't think so - it was all a little TOO perfect. I'm not dissing the man for being a part of the "plot" and I'm certainly not dissing him for his ethnic heritage or how his name sounds - indeed, I was actually pretty stoked when I saw he'd won the election, but I had a knot in my stomach which was telling me it was the absolute worst timing ever - but that's another story.

Back to Australia. Rudd's been rating pretty well on the TeeVee - better than Hockey. The viewers trust him, he empathises with the average bloke on the street and he's made some pretty insightful statements on the state of Australia and it's place in the world. What's more, he speaks fluent Mandarin (more on that later). The Labo(u)r party decides to make Rudd their candidate for the federal election. He's facing the Liberal John Howard, an old dude with a rigid worldview and a strong affiliation with the hated American Neocons who got us involved in two wars after September 11 2001. What's more, Howard's government enacted a whole raft of repressive measures against the civil Liberties of the Australian population under the banner of Sedition and Anti-Terror legislation. That made him unpopular so he had to go.

Rudd campaigns and wins the Federal election, thereby becoming the new Prime Minister of Australia. His media team works overtime as Rudd jetsets around the world. He visits China, which is great and is actually a relief for the average Aussie who, deep down in his soul, fears an invasion by hordes of Asians streaming down from the north. China is usually one of the two possible modern invaders in this long-held and culturally-embedded invasion scenario which has existed in one form or another since the 1850s. The fact that Rudd speaks Chinese makes the Aussie population feel just that little bit safer and more secure. Being an articulate, warm and friendly bloke, Rudd would be able talk the Chinese out of ever invading us through the force of his charisma alone! After all, he used to charm Kochie and Mel on the morning show. Aussies subconsciously feel safer in their beds at night. Rudd strikes up a "warm friendship" with US President Obama. Wow! What a team - With two progressive leaders working together for the good of the world, our future looks very bright indeed. That Obama guy has a Muslim name too, so maybe he can hold peace talks with the terrorists and ask them not to attack Australia. Aussies subconsciously feel safer in their beds at night.

Rudd's Prime Ministerial honeymoon period lasts a fairly long time. He's working his butt off "for Australia" but the cracks are starting to show. News reports begin to strategically appear about how he's nasty to his staff and how he has lavish tastes and wastes a fair bit of taxpayer's money. Aussies begin to feel a little uneasy.

Now the news reports begin to talk about how Rudd's burning out. He's making mistakes and his judgement is called into question. Aussies are feeling a little concerned now. Then out of the blue springs a leadership challenge from within the Labo(u)r party. Some unmarried chick with no kids who talks like Kath and Kim, is a bloody socialist and wants Rudd's job. Poor Rudd. He just needs a Bex and a good lie down and he'll be right as rain. Aussies begin to hate Julia Gillard for her betrayal of "a good Prime Minister". Sure enough, she stabs him in the back and takes control of the Labo(u)r party, becoming PM in the process. Aussies boo and hiss. The rigid old Liberals are looking a little more attractive now.

While Gillard begins talking about a pollution tax, the Liberals are grooming their new leader, a bloke called Tony Abbot. He looks and acts like a sleazy lawyer and many Aussies remember how he tore shreds off and almost single-handedly destroyed the career and the life of well-meaning, but bigoted, uneducated and terribly naive One Nation leader Pauline Hanson back during the Howard government days. Abbott did his job so well back then that Hansen ended up in prison for electoral fraud. The media and public relations people go for a complete public perception adjustment of Abbott to make the people forget what he's like when he's being nasty. He's presented as a healthy, fit, clean living bloke who loves the outdoors and runs triathlons - you see, the PR people had seen the international news coverage of Russia's Vladmir Putin as an "action man" and thought that might be an appropriate image for Abbott. Aussies begin to warm to Tony Abbott - he's gotta be better than that biatch of a PM? Doesn't he?

Fast forward to today - Gillard pushes through her carbon tax with zero regard for how the population feels about it. Normally something like this would be a deal-breaking election issue... but she wasn't elected. No one cares if she is voted out at the next election, especially not Gillard herself - she'll be in the history books as Australia's first female prime minister. Now Aussies everywhere are furious. How dare the Labo(u)r government bypass the people and put through a carbon tax?!?! It's just a sly way to tax the air we breathe! Aussies everywhere are unaware at how much money will be made off the carbon tax when it kicks in in July of 2012.

So what happens next? IMHO An election is called, Abbott wins by a landslide, but unfortunately Australia's participation in various international treaties prevents us from repealing the tax. We're stuck with it as we roll into Great Depression 2.0.

So as you can see from hindsight, it's all been a setup. Doesn't matter who you vote for. The system is an illusion, a sleight of hand trick designed to manipulate you into reacting when they want you to and into NOT reacting when they don't want you to. Gillard didn't come up with the carbon tax. Bob Brown of the Greens didn't come up with the carbon tax. Tony Abbott doesn't oppose it and he certainly won't repeal it. It's all a big game. They thrive on deception and I feel freakin' dirty just writing about them.

    Wake up Australia!

This reminds me of feudal times in history where the peasants were taxed to death by the ruling lords. Nothing has really changed, and unseen lords are still reaping the benefits of the hard work of others.

    Hello All,

For Heaven's sake it's not a carbon tax, it's a carbon dioxide tax!
It's what we breathe out from oxygen and plants breathe in, for f....s, sake

It's SO bloody rediculous I can't believe it.

My late Father always said that one day they would tax us all for breathing. He was SO right. I always thought he was joking, and here it is!

So did my dad Lily, I didn't think I'd see it in my life time. If it wasn't so serious I'd be laughing my head off it is simply that ridiculous.

I think this is going to be a big wake up call for the people of australia. I know a few people whom will be thinking WTF, as I have been preaching about the greed of the TPTW and their desire to micro manage our lives for a while to family and friends. I think here in australia the TPTW have just tripped over there own greed.

P.S. Now for the other chestnut, that's where they take over australian food production with GMO crops and feed us this poor grade food and tell us we need to supplement our diet with prescription vitamins, thereby further destroying our health and further tying up our finances.

Final note, thank you Juliar G for having so much concern for the your own fellow australian and looking out for our best interest, cheers my dear.

We'll see. I think as a nation we're just gonna take it like we always have. It doesn't come into force until July next year - hardly anyone will remember, which is the way tptb/w prefer it.

Besides, my fellow Australians will all be too distracted by the "Iran Crisis" shortly to notice.

    Hi nottelling,

Nup, the revolution is just in the 'sweetening phase', my friend.

Things are just on the back burner, 'on the stove' so to speak. Don't be too dismissive. Never underestimate the convict psyche of the Aussies. We don't like authority, have always bucked against it.

I predict a revolution worldwide fairly soon. (I am not a clairvoyant, lol, I just look at facts).

Problem is that the PTB or PTW are planning on Oz being a launch pad for the NWO....I think they planned wrong! It's gunna be fun to watch their downfall. Aussies aint no patsy's.

I also predict that between 2012 to 2020 Australia will surpass the USA as a global super power. (Again,I'm no clairvoyant, I just look at the facts and joint the dots).

    Cheers,
