Here is a thought. The deciples of jesus firmly believed that after his death, he would come back again in their lifetime. What is referred to as the second coming. Christians have been waiting for this event ever since and of course it has still not happened.

Sometimes all the fear being spread.... with each new conspiracy theory....makes me feel like a fish in a pond. Someone throws in another hook with a conspiracy attached...just to see if I'll bite...if I do, they reel me in, and chum the water for other fools.....If I don't bite....then in comes another hook !!!!! Y2K, 911, enemies everywhere, Comets, asteroids, CME's (sunspots), Economic collapse, ( well, that one is real here ) dollar devaluation (already happened ) UFO's ,... 11-11-11, (whatever THAT was about?) now 2012...

I can't believe anything anymore...which is probably just what THEY want....mindless dolts...wandering around with no opinions, no beliefs...zombies...robots...
Certainly is frustrating...makes me very tired.

This has been a difficult journey, looking for the truth, and seeing various ideas on both extremes coming up. I have tried to focus on learning about myself. Noticing the impatience, the apparent need for adrenaline that seems to come up. Overall is the idea that some huge external change needs to happen. The amount of positive change I have witnessed in my life (5 1/2 decades) is pretty phenomenal. But I want a whole new world still, not the one of one step forward, two steps back. Just prior to 11/11/11 and since that time I have discovered a new awareness that gives me hope that we ARE moving ahead. Maybe the time to evalute the 2012 ideas is a decade later. I have friends who are mad at people who talked about this huge change occurring in 2000. At this time we can look back and see that indeed many human institutions are creaking louder and louder every day. At that time we had one very far reaching change that did happen, that was the change over to y2k compliant software. That was a system that affected a very wide range of human activities and we saw it coming, and we ditched that system rather quickly, with very little argument. The institutions that we are seeing crumble now are things that have much larger investments in them. The financial system of covert control , poisons the media, MMS and alternative, it ensures that our goverment works against our best interests and only for the short term interests of a select few.
Those things will not change over night, and the desire I have for them to do so can get in the way of me making real changes in my life today. So I make a mental note to look back in a couple years, them 5 years from now and ten years from now , and I rest assured that I will see this decade to be a time of very rapid change , and notice that it happened because of a large number of beings having the courage to change themselves, and get to together and compare notes on the process as it was happening.

Well, 21/12/2012 was all about the Mayan calendar, however, the highest authorities on this calendar changed back the date of the end of the calendar to 28/10/2011.

We all know nothing special, unusual, happened in 28/10/2011. I just wonder if now the "experts" will change the date back to 21/12/2012 or will just let it go...

Probably, they wont let it go, and will create another date for the end of the Mayan calendar, or produce more "proof" about the end of the world in 21/12/2012.

Then, on 2013, we all will be feeling just like we do right now. Nothing happened.

Dates are a great business for the new age gurus. They get a lot of money from it and I don´t judge them. Churches and religions from all over the world earn a lot of money selling invisible stuff. Anyway, it´s your choice to believe them or not.

I guess people just feel safer to have something to come to save them, something that would magically turn them from human beings, with all its qualities and defects, into a perfect angel like creature.

Well, in my opinion, it wont happen. One day a meteor or something else will come and kill us all. Maybe even a war.

Until there, I´ll just keep doing my stuff.

I know, it feels nice to talk about this kind of stuff...Predictions, Doom, Instantaneous Ascension...It feels just as nice as talking about a great sci-fi book or movie. It´s nice to put our imagination to practice and escape for a while from this wild world.

It´s great to use our imagination and develop crazy ideas and theories, anyway.

Man I feel that way a lot of days. Mostly because I want change NOW and I feel like like Pippin in Gondor with Gandalf hating waiting on the edge of a battle I can see coming but can't escape.

Yoda's observation is appropriate though, it's hard to see change from within the process. If something takes 5 years to happen that is really a blink of the eye in historic terms but from where I sit now five years ahead seems like an eternity.

The point being that there is change happening, lots of people waking up, and plenty of work on solutions. The Thrive documentary is a good case in point.

Also, maybe we've become so accustomed to daily global disasters that if half the world isn't sliding into the ocean it feels like nothing is happening. We're so immersed in this sea of change that we lose sight of how much is really going on in a short period of time.

I don't know if ET's will show up on the lawn or not. I'm inclined to think it's up to us to solve our own problems. One thing is also certain, things that can't go on forever won't. The ponzi scheme economics, rampant poisoning and destruction of the environment, unchecked population growth - these things will end eventually because they must. I believe they will in our lifetime whether we live in "end times" or not.

Hello all, I'm new. Just to chip here on this thread.

Perhaps Amystic you do not see the wood for the trees? There is a lot actually going on now. World-wide economic collapse, Occupy movement growing in potency, floods/earthquakes, UFOs everywhere, whistleblower reports on the rise, Berlesconi/power-mongers ousted from their high seats, Arab dawn, etc etc. Even if we do not see a huge paradigm-shift, suddenly, miraculously materialize to transfoirm our lives doesn't mean that an awful lot isn't happening. It's happening gradually, subtely behind the scenes.

What it all means, where it all will go, who knows for certain. I know where I want it to go. But it's change. Big change. And I submit that it's only just beginning. And we haven't even started 2012 yet!

You're in Venezuela. Don't know about the economy there. Germany is not doing too bad, but it's clearly no boom-time either. But looking at other countries, if you compare the US 20 years ago with the productive capacity in the country now, it's virtually collapsed. Or take the Eurozone breakdown as another example.

I have been a member on Avalon for ten months. And I would like to state that

a lot have happened In me, on Avalon and in the surrounding world. I have

learnt to stay in the moment and some days are like weeks, filled to the brim

with unbelieveable events. Ive totally forgotten the art of boring myself. I sleep

for three nights in a week and would like to have 48 hrs/day. LOL

On Avalon is a total different mood and a totally different approach now when

I think back to early spring. Here are a lot of members discussing other solutions

to real problems than shovering love and light on everything, like ketchup.

And so many members have really had the courage to show who they really are.

Changes in the surrounding world we see on a daily basis, many around the
