Today my son Jason was told he has the highest IQ, In his school! But that is not
what makes him special! Jason is special because he genuinely cares about people.
By the time he was 5 yeas old, I was discussing the "Theory of Relativity", With him.
(To The best of my ability lol)

One day when Jason was 10 years old, I wanted to test him with a moral Question.
So I said to him "Jason if I told that I didn't want you to marry a black girl and
I don't think its right for whites and blacks to marry, What would you say? He looked
at me Without hesitation and in a stern voice and said" Dad that is not right!"
He said "Dad you dont really feel that way do you?" I just pulled him close to me
and gave him a big hug and said "no" and smiled.

He is 11 years old now. A few months ago he told me he wants to do something
really great with his life, Something to make the World a better place.
He also has come around socially, A few months back I was having a bad day.
He came into my room and found me worrying! He walked over and hugged me!
That was the first time my son ever initiated a hug! Anyway im done bragging lol

I think that you should continue to brag about Jason. He's worth it.

He's your greatest gift and blessing, I feel very happy for you.

And don't forget, you've been one of the major catalysts in helping him be the way he is. Encouraging him to believe in himself, to question right and wrong and to express his beliefs is a wonderful gift to give a child.

    Well done brother !

Thank you Jagman for your touching story.
I have two nephews who were diagnosed with the fragile x-syndrome and are therefore handicapped.
One nephew is autistic and after 17 years of visiting him, he gave me his version of a hug, I was over the moon!
Since then - he is twenty now - I am allowed to kiss him on the cheek.

Jason chose a great Father! I sense you truly 'get' that children can be some of the best teachers. Phooey with ageism. We just have to be open to being a student. Bless you both!

The little things that people so often take for granted are blessings indeed. My daugter has autism, but she is very social and full of love for people, she always puts a smile on people's faces, when she sees them at the store, school or restaurants. Everyone knows my little Emma!

You are truly blessed jagman, I have often wondered if aspergers was the next step in the evolutionary process. I am stereotyping, but no need to lie, no games, just matter of fact and brilliant.
