Quote THE rift between Israel and Turkey may be on the way to resolution.

This is according to a report yesterday on the US-sponsored Arabic-language television network al-Hura.

The report said an Israeli negotiator, meeting this week with a senior Turkish diplomat in Geneva, had agreed to Istanbul's demands that Israel apologise for the killing of nine Turkish activists last May when a flotilla of civilian vessels attempted to break the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza. Israel had also agreed, the report said, to Turkey's demand that it pay compensation to the families of the dead. Both sides have confirmed a meeting of their representatives in Geneva.

The Tel Aviv daily Ha'aretz quotes Turkish diplomatic sources as saying the discussions have been "very positive"...

Wikileaks: Saudis urge force to destroy Hezbollah
Saudi Arabia proposed an Arab-led military force to destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon two years ago, a US diplomatic cable published by Wikileaks suggests.

The Wikileaks is considered by many intelligence agencies as a CIA false flag operation. ALA 911 for the internet freedom.
Take the recent 'diplomatic cables' leaks with a grain of salt. Most of the information is known, some of it is fear mongering and the rest is conflict mongering between US 'allies'

There is a theme in the recent wikileaks cables. Hope you can identify it.

Ban on selling homes to non-Jews under fire. Ruling gravely twists Torah, says rabbi
Religious figures and politicians are slamming a statement banning the selling or leasing of assets to non-Jews, endorsed by some 50 municipal rabbis Tuesday.

Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger's office issued a statement stressing that the matter is not merely halachic, as political and security considerations must also be made before undertaking such ruling. For that reason, Rabbi Metzger decided not to bring the issue up at the Chief Rabbinate's Council and will not be endorsing the statement.

Benjamin Netanyahu condemns rabbis over property advice

Quote About 40 rabbis, many employed by the state, signed the statement, citing concerns about potential mixed marriages and falling property values.

Mr Netanyahu denounced the advice as "undemocratic" and discriminatory.

The move has fuelled charges of racism at a time of mounting friction between Israeli Arabs and Jews.

Arab Israeli lawmaker Ahmad Tibi said the rabbis should be fired and have criminal charges brought against them "because we are talking about incitement or racism according even to Israeli law"...

Israel launches strikes, warns on Gaza

JERUSALEM — Israel launched retaliatory air strikes on the Gaza Strip Thursday hours after its top soldier warned troops to be prepared for possible "wider action" on the enclave's volatile border.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said the strikes were aimed at three separate targets, two of which Gaza militants confirmed were sites they used for training. No casualties were reported.

The air strikes were launched overnight after a mortar fired by Gaza militants wounded an Israeli man at a farm.

"The situation on the Gaza Strip border is fragile these days," Israeli armed forces chief General Gaby Ashekenazi told troops based near the Gaza border, according to the Maariv daily.

Ashekenazi cited a large number of explosive devices on the border and rising activity against Israel at the northern edge of Gaza, predicting more incidents.

"We may need to be prepared for wider action. The next round will be big and it needs to end in a way that leaves no doubt who won. We are significantly stronger than the other side," the commander said, according to Maariv. Militants in the enclave ruled by the Islamist Hamas faction have fired some 200 rockets and mortars at Israel this year, the Israeli army says.

They fired about five mortar rounds late Wednesday and fragments from one wounded a man. He was taken by helicopter to hospital in Beersheba, but his injuries were not life-threatening, the army spokeswoman said.

He was the first casualty since March, when a Thai farm laborer was killed by a mortar shell.

Poll: Israel's Arabs don't want to be part of Palestinian state
Saban Center survey shows 58% of Israeli-Arabs against annexation of Arab cities to future Palestinian state as part of territorial exchanges; 47% of Israel's Jews believe peace will never be achieved

While Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman continuously discusses the possibility of territorial exchanges as part of a future peace agreement with the Palestinians, it seems that Israel's Arabs are simply not interested: A survey published by the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution on Thursday indicated that 58% of Israeli-Arabs are against the annexation of Arab cities to a future Palestinian state in the framework of a peace agreement and territorial exchanges.

The poll, conducted in light of the failed negotiations between the US and Israel on another settlement construction moratorium, further showed that 62% of Israeli Jews believe the government should do more to achieve peace with the Palestinians. Some 43% believe peace will be achieved within five years, while eight percent said it would take even less time. However, 47% speculated that a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians will never be signed.

The survey showed that 40% of Israel's Jews are in favor of a peace agreement based on a return to the 1967 borders and the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, while 27% are against an Israeli withdrawal and a Palestinian state.

According to the poll, 63% of Israeli-Arabs do not believe peace is attainable, and two-thirds of them are not willing to forgo the "right of return" demand. Half of the Arab-Israelis polled said they would not be willing to recognize Israel as a Jewish state under any circumstance.

And what do Israelis think of the US' involvement in the peace process? According to the survey, 51% of Israel's Jews have a negative opinion of President Barack Obama, and 43% are not encouraged by Washington's Mideast policy. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is the most popular foreign leader among Israeli Jews, followed by former US President Bill Clinton, the survey showed.

The survey also showed that half of Israel's Jews define themselves firstly as Jewish and only secondly Israel; 75% of them support Israel's definition as a Jewish state to prevent the return of Palestinian refugees to the country ("right of return").

The survey indicated that 36% of Israeli-Arabs define themselves firstly as Arabs, as opposed to only 22% who consider themselves Palestinians first and foremost. In addition, more Arab-Israelis define themselves as Arab (34%) than Muslim (27%).

A survey of the American public's attitude toward the peace process showed that two-thirds of US citizens believe a solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict is one of America's five most important interests; 72% support Obama's mediation efforts.

Assuming these polls are correct (I am not a believer in controlled media polls). There is more support to my analysis that we get what we deserve, all parties involved in the conflict receive their Karma.

This conflict is perceived unsolvable, by the controlled media. And that is the message sent into the public. Another form of people programming.

It is correct (that the conflict is unsolvable) as long as we are controlled by TPTB, this staged unsolvable conflict would not be allowed to be solved.

So we wait to the game changing event. Hope sooner then later.

Heavy Rains, Strong Winds Batter Middle East

Heavy rains and fierce winds pummeled countries across the Middle East over the weekend, sinking a ship off Israel's coast and killing a woman in Lebanon whose car was crushed when a tree fell on it.

The storm brought unusually cold temperatures, below freezing in some spots. It ended weeks of unseasonably warm and dry weather that contributed to dozens of forest fires in Lebanon and helped feed a massive blaze in Israel that destroyed thousands of hectares of forest.

It whipped up sandstorms in Jordan and Egypt, which closed its largest Mediterranean port. In Syria, snow blanketed the streets of Damascus for the first time this winter. Schools sent students home early and children ventured outside to play in the streets.

Syrian authorities closed their main port of Tartous. In Egypt, 12-foot waves forced shut the port of Alexandria — the country's largest — as well as another in the town of Nuweiba along the Red Sea coast of the Sinai Peninsula.

Heavy rains flooded the streets in Beirut and snow forced some road closures in remote mountain towns in Lebanon. A woman died Saturday night when an uprooted tree fell on her car in the northern port city of Tripoli, authorities said. Flights in and out of Beirut's international airport were delayed.

Off the Israeli coast, a Moldovan cargo ship sank in stormy weather about seven miles (11 kilometers) off the port city of Ashdod, and a Turkish ship was safely towed two miles to shore after sending out distress calls.

An official from Israel's shipping and ports authority, Yigal Maor, said the Moldovan vessel's 11-member crew scrambled onto lifeboats and was rescued by a nearby Taiwanese ship. The Israeli military said its sailors arrived safely ashore.

The storm briefly disrupted operations at Israel's Ben-Gurion Airport. Spokesman Adar Avisar said two flights — one each from British Airways and Lufthansa — were diverted to Cyprus in the afternoon. By evening, their passengers were on their way to Israel. Departing flights were also delayed for about an hour in the afternoon, Avisar said.

Elsewhere in Israel, rain and hail pounded the country while strong winds toppled trees and traffic lights, flooding streets and knocking out electricity to hundreds of homes. Local media reported that a pier at the ancient port city of Caesarea collapsed, a breakfront at another beach cracked and towering waves washed over the shore of Eilat, a Red Sea port city.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said northern Israel was hit hardest by the storm, and that extra police patrols were dispatched to divert traffic because of downed trees. Two police officers were lightly injured when a tree fell on their patrol car, Rosenfeld said.

In the Gaza Strip, strong winds and lashing rains caused cracks in the pier and the breakfront at the harbor local fishermen use. No one was hurt, but civil defense workers and the Gaza maritime police were hauling boats out of the water and moving them and other fishing equipment to safer ground.

Egypt was hit by rain and winds up to 37 miles (60 kilometers) per hour in Alexandria on the northern Mediterranean coast.

Sandstorms blanketed Cairo for a second day Sunday, choking the air with dust and turning the sky a tepid beige. Doormen and shopkeepers tried in vain to keep the swirling dust at bay, sweeping sidewalks and dusting off parked cars.

Jordan also wrestled with sandstorms kicked up by winds up to 55 miles (90 kilometers) per hour, police said. Visibility was severely limited, and authorities closed major highways in the eastern desert linking the country with neighboring Iraq and southern roads leading to the ancient city of Petra, a major tourist attraction.

A police statement said low visibility caused a 10-car pileup in a district south of the capital Amman, which injured 16 people.

Cairo airport remained open while Amman airport reported up to two-hour delays in domestic and international flights.

    Answer to Fredkc
    Quote Question for Pathwalker;

what, in your opinion, is the reason Israel, & Turkey are not more prominently mentioned in the latest WkiLeaks release?
    1. It is not over yet, the real juice is not out yet.
    2. The theme of the leaks is to incite conflicts among 'peaceful' friendly nations. Israel and Turkey are already having an hostile relationships.
    3. The leaks are 80% known info, 15% new info, 3% factual leaks, 2% disinformation.

The current diplomatic leaks are very clever skim by one faction in the pentagon, fighting for power and dominance among the others.
One can clearly identify lots of: truth, half truth, lies and hints.
Myself Identified the following aims in the recent leaks:
    1. Discredit WikiLeaks
    2. Backfire on the internet pseudo freedom, in order to put the American internet under control ala China and Iran.
    3. Harm the opposition warring factions in the Pentagon
    4. Divert attention from the internal affairs in the USA (on the verge of revolution).
    5. Divert world attention from TPTB actual takeover actions, and economic wars. Hot economic leaks about Europe, Russia, India, China are not serving this aim. Delicious gossip and petty corruption do.

Note there is no leaks about rigged science, alternative energy, ufo, swine flu ... And more issues that dominate Avalon forums.
I wonder who edit the daily leaks and how the decisions are made.

May we have what we deserve, gently.

Quote Regime envoy to Switzerland disappeared with intelligence
Quote NCRI - A former regime ambassador to Switzerland, who was also a senior member of the regime’s negotiating team for nuclear talks, has not returned to Iran and taken loads of information with him, a state-run media has reported.

The state-run Jahan News said Sirous Naseri “who was part of the Hassan Rohani team, has never returned to the country and has taken intelligence with him.”

It added that another official, “Moussavian, is also accused by the intelligence ministry of handing over nuclear intelligence to westerners.”

Jahan News derided Hassan Rohani’s negotiating team and said, “The achievements of this team was to accept all of the West’s conditions. It accepted to close Natanz and UCF, suspended nuclear activities and according to statements by the western side, it even accepted to suspend nuclear activities for 10 years.”

    From Today's Wiki release...

Quote In 2006 and 2007 Swiss diplomats tried to usher the Americans and Iranians to the negotiating table. Recently published US diplomatic cables show how deeply the Swiss initiative irked Washington -- and how Bern refused to give up despite repeated requests from the US.

That US diplomats posted in Bern were upset by the efforts of Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey to intervene in the conflict surrounding Iran's nuclear program in 2006 and 2007 and force themselves on the United States as an intermediary is well known. But just how upset has now become clear from the confidential diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks.

In February and March 2007, Calmy-Rey dispatched Michael Ambühl, a high-ranking Swiss diplomat, on several visits to Tehran in an attempt to persuade the Iranians and the US to engage in bilateral talks. As part of the same effort, she hosted Iran's then chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, for talks in Bern. Washington had vehemently tried to dissuade Calmy-Rey from assuming such an active role; but that didn't stop her.

The concern over an active Swiss role arose from the 1979 hostage crisis in Tehran, which saw Iranian students and militants raid the US Embassy in Tehran and take 66 Americans hostage. Since then, Switzerland had been representing US interests in Iran. Washington was concerned that, when it came to the nuclear dispute with Iran, Tehran might mistakenly assume that Switzerland was acting as its proxy in this case as well...

    1. Please provide link into the leaked cable from wikileaks. http://www.wikileaks.ch/cablegate.html
    2. Please post in the wikileaks sub forum, it is off topic to this thread. There is also a thread about Iran war in this forum.https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...+war#post80910

This thread is about the Israel Palestinian conflict.

Palestinian negotiator says peace process in 'deep coma'
BEIT SAHUR, Palestinian Territories — A Palestinian negotiator late Saturday said the peace process with Israel was in a "deep coma" and that US proposals for resuming talks were "totally useless".

"I don't think we are to resume the negotiations soon," Nabil Shaath told journalists at Beit Sahur, near Bethlehem in the West Bank.

"The peace process is in a deep coma.... I don't think anyone wants to continue this negotiation," he said.

"There is no more credibility to this negotiation process. This is an exercise in futility, ridiculous...," he added.

Lebanese television shows pictures of 'spy equipment' with Hebrew writing
Lebanese television channels yesterday broadcast close-up pictures of the alleged Israeli spy equipment the Lebanese Army discovered on Wednesday. The pictures showed Hebrew words printed on the devices, as well as the words "made in Israel" in English.

Also yesterday, a Lebanese radio station claimed that an explosion heard in Lebanon late Wednesday was an Israel Defense Forces operation aimed at destroying an espionage device the IDF had installed off the coast of Sidon. The day before, the Voice of Lebanon had reported that Israeli fighter jets and helicopters were seen firing flares over Sidon and that Israeli battleships had been spotted in the area.

The pictures of the espionage devices, which included photographic equipment and laser and broadcast equipment, showed the Hebrew inscription "Mini Anan" ("Mini cloud" ), a serial number and the English words "Beam Systems Israel Ltd."

Media reports in Lebanon said these devices, located in mountainous areas overlooking Beirut, were laser pointers intended to direct Israeli aerial bombardments.

This is the third time in a year that Israeli intelligence-gathering equipment has reportedly been discovered on Lebanese territory. On the other two occasions, the Lebanese found equipment designed to tap into Hezbollah's independent communications network.

In each case, the Lebanese Army acted on intelligence information provided by Hezbollah itself.

Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah praised the Lebanese Army yesterday for finding the devices despite difficult conditions in the snow-covered mountains. Lebanese President Michel Suleiman reciprocated by commending Hezbollah's cooperation with the Lebanese Army in this matter.

Nasrallah also said yesterday that the international tribunal in The Hague that is investigating the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri will be "gone with the wind." He called the tribunal "a conspiracy" and urged his countrymen to thwart its efforts to accuse Hezbollah operatives, or anyone else, of Hariri's murder.

Finally, he urged all Arab states to stop peace talks with Israel and join Hezbollah's "resistance" against Israel.

The Israeli media interpreters explain this as PR stunt of the Hizzbula to divert attention from the elephant in the room.
The equipment was found few years ago, and the pics where taken in the summer. Now the area is covered with thick snow.
The interpreter said the espionage equipment was found in very remote and difficult to access mountain tops. The exposure of the equipment means that there is construction activity on the mountain tops. Probably by Hezbollah. Building with alternative equipment for the same goals.
The Lebanese government is trying to leverage an international conflict on this event.

Israeli airstrike kills 5 in Gaza Strip
GAZA CITY, GAZA STRIP - An Israeli airstrike killed five Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, Israeli and Palestinian officials said. It was the deadliest attack against the coastal strip in months.

The Israeli military said in a statement that the men were about to launch a rocket attack against southern Israeli communities when they were struck. Palestinian hospital officials confirmed that the five dead were militants.

Militant groups identified the men as members of the Islamic Jihad and Popular Resistance Committees.

Israel has for years routinely targeted rocket launchers from Gaza, but such incidents have been scaled back dramatically in the two years since the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza concluded.

The Hamas Islamist group, which dominates the Gaza Strip while the rival Palestinian Authority governs the West Bank, says that it has tried to curb rocket fire directed at Israel but that smaller groups continue to carry out such attacks.

What is special about this incident is that is only reported by the Israeli side media and completely ignored by the Palestinian side media.
    I wonder why.

A campaign was launched in the beginning of 2009, at the time of the Israeli attacks on Gaza, to promote the concept of taking pride in Palestinian resistance, and to focus on Palestinian rights not victimhood. Called the Never Before Campaign, it is based in Beirut, Lebanon, and has produced a series of videos to convey its message.

In this time of year, people around the world celebrate. They celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem Palestine. They celebrate a birth that was meant to propagate a set of ideals to make the world a better place. 2010 years later, that same birthplace is plagued by a regime that practices the exact opposite of those ideals. Bethlehem is surrounded by a racist wall of biblical proportions, by regime which is racist to biblical proportions. Yet people celebrate.

But that is OK. The people of Palestine also celebrate. They need to, as any other people would need to celebrate. After all it is the season to make exceptions. In this season, people make exceptions when it comes to their spending, to their diets, to the way they treat each other. So it is only logical to make an exception by putting an effort for the land, the homes and people of the birthplace of Christmas... for justice in Palestine...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The Israeli weapon industries conspiracies are on the verge of disclosure
Behind the scenes of IDF's decision to deploy a Rafael-developed tank along Gaza border, company's rival Israel Military Industries is fighting for survival.

Quote Concurrently, the State Comptroller's Office has received inquiries from concerned citizens about these two projects, and seems inclined to launch an investigation about how decisions were made with respect to their development. Despite the IDF and Defense Ministry argument that the Windbreaker is ready for use and better suited for conditions in the field (a controversial claim ), it's hard to dismiss the time factor involved: The process of outfitting tanks with Windbreaker is gradual and protracted. At that rate, it will take years before the IDF infantry will benefit from comparable sorts of defense systems. Senior retired officers claim that the fact that it takes so long to install the Windbreaker will cost the army lives during the next round of warfare. Officials in the Defense Ministry disagree.

It is a known secret that the IDF budgets and deals are off the radar from the state monitoring mechanism.
Israel is mostly controlled by general and IDF post leaders.
So there is intense hand washing concerning the IDF budget. The latest scandals are intensifying the focus on the corruption and lies.
