    New IBM Supercomputer Answers Questions
    By Matthew Dublin

IBM's new "Watson" supercomputer is being touted as the world's most sophisticated "question answering" machine-a description which, on the face of it, sounds a little redundant, for what else is a supercomputer but a "question answering" machine? However what separates "Watson" from other HPC systems is its ability to process natural human language and spit out a high rate of correct responses. The New York Times has an article describing a recent contest between Watson and a group of former Jeopardy! contestants who, not surprisingly, lost to the machine. It's not the fact that an IBM supercomputer can beat a human being by answering questions in the form of a question, rather the real news is that it's the first time we've seen a supercomputer that actually approaches HAL 9000 territory in terms of human-computer interaction which is solely based on voice commands.
If the natural language processing capabilities are perfected, and the system becomes affordable (right now the price tag is several million dollars), it could provide a new way for non-computing experts to generate complex queries on the fly by simply asking a question. Watson's developers have predicted that this new type of computing could be available in laptops or home computers in about 20 years-probably the amount of time it will take for it to truly work properly in a non-Jeopardy setting.

In order to have real answers we just have to connect with our Higher Self or Universal Mind, NO computer can equal that, it doesn't matter how big or expensive it is!!!

I think that will come a lot faster than 20 years from now. Computer speed doubles every 10 months.

What if u could tap into the energyfield of ur higherself or universal mind with a computer? And then get information off that.
    Think about it

To elaborate, the human body is an information receiver and feeder. U can actually compare the human body with a computer...

Thumbs up Re: New IBM Supercomputer Answers Questions

    My take on it.
We are very near to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) peak point. From that point on, the evolved human will transcend technology.
For instance there are no artifacts found from the Lemurian civilization (there are monuments though), because they where so evolved spiritually they did not needed tools and infrastructure as we do.
While there are artifacts from Atlantian civilization.
For a quick review of ancient bizarre artifacts watch Clause Dona interviews.

    Erm yes... go see http://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...-Douglas-Adams...

we'll get to "Deep Thought" soon enough... In fact I can almost guarantee us reaching that page on my thread (and I don't even know how far we've got to go without looking) before anything else happens mentioned at Avalon :0)

So keep an eye on that thread.. I can post back here when we reach deep thought... but I seriously doubt this thread (like so many others) will still be alive then...I even wonder about mine ;0)

    best wishes,

    K.

Jeopardy will be airing the Watson episodes on February 14th to the 16th. It'll be going up against the show's two all-time biggest winners.
There will come a day when we know our true history.
